The book also offers natural ways to make labor and birth as relaxed as possible, using homeopathic methods. Complete with case histories, materia medica, and supportive and helpful tips throughout, this guidebook offers a wealth of natural-health information every expentant mother should consider.
This is great for a full understanding of homeopathic remedies and how to self prescribe or prescribe for your family. If you’re wanting to just cross reference or look up a symptom this book will not work.
A great and detailed book for how to use homeopathy during pregnancy, labor, postpartum, infancy, and early childhood. The author helps to make homeopathy a little more user-friendly with some very thorough advice on prescribing. The materia medica and repertory in the back of the book is very useful when referencing the remedies shared throughout the chapters. She even gives lots of supportive lifestyle and nutritional advice for the stages of pregnancy, challenges or complications that may arise, as well as care for infants and children (and early childhood illnesses!). However, this book was written in the 90's, so keep in mind some advice is general or needs to be updated. This is still a wonderful book to reference and have on hand though!
Begins with an intro chapter for those unfamiliar with homeopathy, then has alphabetical lists of "complaints" in pregnancy, labor, and babies, with suggested treatments (both homeopathic and other). Concludes with an index of remedies and the different things you can use them for, to help you choose the right one for each "complaint." More a reference book than one to read. I will be buying it to keep as a reference for common baby troubles, and bringing a few of the suggested remedies with me when I go into labor.
You should be free to refuse medication because you believe nature, one or more gods, fairy godmother's prayers, or some nut doing holistic rituals can treat you better than conventional medicine.
