Book 3 in a Cooking Class Mystery.
Annie is a busy little lady. She works as a bank teller and is the business manager at Bellywasher's, her boyfriend Jim's restaurant. In this book, she is also persuaded to help Jim teach a cooking class for a few week's while he deals with his pregnant, emotional cousin Fi and her 7 girls. Her life gets even more hectic when her best friend Eve becomes the main suspect in a murder of one of their students. She quickly becomes a private investigator and turns up many leads along the way. This was a fun, entertaining and quick read. I love the main characters, especially Annie. She somehow attracts disaster, but is a smart cookie. The new characters that were introduced were great as well. I actually pinned the murderer early on, but was still interested at the end with how the story all pieced together.

I hate when you figure out who the murderer is early on. It's sad when you hope it's a red herring and it isn't. I enjoyed the book otherwise but I wish it wasn't simple who done it.

I liked this entry in the series, although I did have the culprit figured out near the beginning of the story. It was still good, though.

I really like the characters in this series. Bonus points for figuring out whodunit before Annie, even if I didn't know all the whys behind it. #readforkimberly

I like cozy mysteries and I enjoyed, Miranda Bliss' book, Dead Men Don't Get the Munchies. This book has everything a good cozy needs: fun characters, a fun setting--The Bellywasher (restaurant), and a mystery to solve. I look forward to reading future books in this series!

This one was too predictable for me. I've liked the previous books in this series but this one leaves much to be desired. I'm hoping it's an aberration.

Absolutely dull! Only read this borefest if you're having trouble falling asleep.

Annie is supposed to be a smart, sensible girl with a knack for solving mysteries, but all I can see is a spineless girl who has trouble saying "no" to anyone being caught up in a host of incidents, which she tries to counter by doing absolutely stupid things. Honestly, what kind of sensible girl would try and help her friend by attempting to break into someone's house to find evidence?! Annie stumbles back and forth, and the only reason why she's able to "solve" anything is because the author threw the blatant clues there for her to stumble over.

Aside from that, her friend Eve is a blonde dimwit, her boyfriend is possessive and positively embarrassing, and the cooking classes are just plain boring. The murderer can also be guessed a million years before it is revealed, which defeats the point of reading this already dull and uninspired book. Avoid.

This book was enjoyable and easy to get into. The story was different and had some surprises held inside.

Annie Capshaw and her best friend, Eve work for Bellywasher's Pub. Jim, the owner of the Pub decides to begin teaching cooking classes again. He asks Annie to be his assistant, which, if you have read previous books, you know will be a kitchen disaster. It made me laugh out loud at some of her results.

Meanwhile, Eve gets the shock of her life when she glimpses one of the new students and realizes he was a former boss whom had tried to get fresh and when rejected, tried to destroy her working resume. Hastily she utters dire words and the next thing you know, Brad is murdered.

Annie must get to detecting quickly in order to save her friend. There is a surprise element involved that I must insist you find on your own.

This is a charming book and has delicious recipes at the ending to try.

I am finding myself losing steam with this series, even though I like the premise of each book being "a cooking class mystery." I think my frustration lies in the two main characters, Annie and Eve, who really do seem to think they are detectives. Unlike other cozy mysteries where the main characters are simply involved with the mystery, these two cross boundaries that would normally get them arrested by real law enforcement. This also poses a second question: If Annie and Eve are superior to the local officials and prefer solving murders on their own and withholding evidence from the police, why don't they make that their career of choice instead of banking and food? Cozy mysteries are not known for their twisting plots, but I figured out the killer in just a few pages. Sad.

I will finish the series with Dead Before Dinner, but with not a great deal of excitement.

"I, ANNIE CAPSHAW, AM THE WORLD'S WORST COOK."

I really enjoyed this series when I started reading cozies but I haven’t visited Annie and the gang at Bellywashers since 2008. I’m not sure if cozy storylines have evolved or if my tastes have matured or a combination of both. This was a hard book to get through. The naivety of the characters as well as their careless behavior would normally get them arrested in the real world. The plot was pretty predictable but still kept you guessing a little. I do love the idea of it being “a cooking class mystery.” Always enjoy the addition of some delicious recipes. I plan on reading the next book, Dying for Dinner. I also recommend this author’s newer series written under the name of Kylie Logan. I’m really looking forward to her newly released Irish Stewed, the first book in her Ethnic Eats series.

Annie Capshaw says she is a bad cook, but by a twist of fate, she ends up helping to teach a cooking class. Her job is working in a bank and in her off time she helps with the accounting for her boyfriend's new business, the bar "Bellywasher." Annie's boyfriend, Jim, decides to offer cooking classes at the Bellywasher. Somehow Jim seems to be extremely busy at the time of the classes so Annie must help. Annie is shocked when one of the students is Brad, a vendective ex boyfriend of Annie's best friend, Eve. It seems when Brad is finished with a girl, he finds a way to wreck their lives....which he did with Eve. During the course of cooking classes, Brad is murdered. Eve is the police's favorite suspect.
another student in the cooking class, Kegan, helps Annie to look for real murderer.
Quick, easy read.

It's all very well for a "cosy" to be light but illogical isn't attractive. Why would Brad be as nasty as all that? Even the cooking class is not too logical in the way it is set up. The way the class is divided, the fact that each person brought the ingredients for their place doesn't make much sense. the murder makes sense, the murderer choosing a simple method and good time, but I found a number of parts difficult to accept, including Fiona's seven daughters and the weak reason for her breakup with her husband. If it were possible to change a group of children's behaviour as easily as Eve did it, well she should market it is all I'll say. I really can't accept Jim's accent, either. It just doesn't come across as accurate, more stagey. I must have been in a bad mood while I read this one!

I really didn't want to finish this book. I just didn't care it. I was annoyed with the storyline quite a few times. For example, the first line of the book.
I, Annie Capshaw, Am the World's Worst Cook. It just didn't sit right with me. It is a cooking class mystery . Then her boyfriend, Jim, persuades Annie to help him teach his cooking class (Come on! - keep this woman out of the kitchen) etc... There was some potential with some of the turns & twists in the storyline but at the end, it just fell flat for me. :(
The recipes in the back of the book look interesting. I do plan on trying some of them. :)
This is the first book of the series that I have read. I don't know if I'll give the others a try.
I give this book 2.5 ★★!

This is book 3 in the Cooking class murders, a new series to me. I enjoyed the characters and description of the classes, especially as the narrator is "the world's worst" cook. The disasters are endless. But never fear, Eve is the business manager for the restaurant. This is a fun, quick read, perfect for the plane or beach.

This book is the Bridget-Jones-runs-a-cooking-class mystery, heavy on the accidents and humor, light on the mystery. It is chick-lit all the way, but generally amusing. Fine for a light read. Funny characters, some romance.

This book was okay. I did however figure out who did it very early in the book. It did start to have a development of a love interest between one of the main characters which I liked. Unfortuneatly the language in the book has turned me off of reading the next book in the series.

Another fun cooking class mystery. Personally, I still think Annie takes too much upon herself and needs to take some lessons from Eve. I do like that Annie has a Scotsman! <3 And I figured out about Kegan pretty much right away; I wish Annie had!

I like this author but I was a bit disappointed that I knew who did it immediately and so therefore it wasn't it a mystery to me. The only mystery was when Annie would figure it out. But I enjoy the humor and the main characters in her series so enjoyed it anyway.

Liked this book, I must confess I guessed who done it earlier but not bad for a cozy. I usually read hard boiled detective stories but I like this series and the people in them.
