It wasn't what I expected. It was better.
This book has restored my hope for Christian fiction. Not an easy thing to do in a single book, but he managed. Now I'm not talking about a sappy feel-good hope. I was tied in knots through the whole book. Rather, this is a hope that Christian fiction authors can actually turn out a well-written book without compromising.
Suspenseful - Oh my yes! He took the headlines, bumped them into the future a bit, a very little bit, and implemented the wishes of the most radical and heretical academics we're hearing from today. Yikes! Who will stand fast? How far can sin be accommodated before we aren't standing at all?
I was ready for it to take a turn to the ridiculously miraculous. You know the type of story I'm talking about? The ones where God intervenes constantly, in ways He rarely did in the Bible, to rescue the persecuted. But it never happened. Hurray! Don't think the book ended in defeat! It is incredibly encouraging.
I can't possibly describe the intricate twists and turns it takes. Just let me say it was so worth the read.

An interesting and enjoyable read. Many of the things mentioned in this work of fiction are based on real life situations, but the plot then moves on to include what may happen at a future time. As much as enjoyed this novel, I deducted a point for the minor typos and grammar mistakes as well as the fact that no where in the book description was there any mention that this book is part of a series. Unless you plan on buying the next book, you may be disappointed at the end of this one.

Not sure about this one
It's a legal battle between the extreme left and fundamentalist religion under the overall banner of "hate speech". This is not "hate" speech as I know it but professions of faith mainly by Christians who see their way as the only way. To me it reads like fundamentalists trying to create an authoritarian horror story to prop up their supporter's beliefs. Unfortunately the book ends without a conclusion. Intrigued, I have bought the next(rather expensive) book to see who wins. I may be quite wrong in my assumption of the author's intent in which case I might give it another star. The author is well qualified to write such a book but it could only be written by an American.

This book is very scary because it is a real possibility. Christians are an oppressed people in the current climate. We citizens need to open our eyes to the rights we are at risk of losing in the name of progression.

Every Christian should read this book and know that this is possible. Very disappointed where it ended though would hope there is a sequel.

This was an excellent read and scary considering the implications of what it would mean to limit free speech. Very well written. I am already reading the next book in the series.

The topic of this novel was of particular interest to me and thus I eagerly downloaded the free ebook. While it would not have affected my choice to read this book, it wasn’t until the “About the Author” section that the author confirms this is not a complete story but rather continues in a sequel; this is pretty obvious to the reader as the pages near an end without an end of the story in sight.
While the story held my interest because of the topic, there were major problems with the presentation that distracted the reader from what otherwise would have been an engaging story involving current issues. The novel grabs the reader’s attention from the start but then quickly drops the “showing” aspect and replaces it with “telling” - while possibly an attempt to educate the reader and move the story faster, it fails by pulling the reader out of the story with a lecture. The novel does pick up half way through when more “showing” and less “telling” occurs. However, throughout the novel there are grammar/punctuation errors and inconsistent time jumps with converging characters which make a poorer reading experience.
Despite the novel’s problems if the current situation regarding religious rights concerns you, this novel is well worth the time and effort.

What happens when the government steps in and starts to enforce that acceptance is considered tolerance? What are the possible ramifications of the government creating "hate speech" laws that are vigorously enforced? While there are several sections that seem a little like they're selling specific groups, the book is an entertaining and well written story. It definately has an agenda, but the book was good none the less and I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment.

I'd only recommend reading this if you plan to read the sequel too, because things aren't wrapped up by the end of this book. I look forward to reading the sequel and hope it wraps things up.

The ending is bad
Fairly Good story, but the ending is inconclusive. Obviously a set up to get you to pay for the next book.
