Fabulous first book from this author. Very descriptive which immerses you in the plot. This is a real page turner. If you enjoy a book with a few twists and turns - defiantly recommend you read Finding Ulfred.
Finding Ulfred. Alexander Butterfield, 4 Stars. A fast paced fairly quick read that is a page turner with helpful short chapters. The main character is a strong male who sets out to save his brother, who he believes is his twin. The brother gets into trouble with a ruthless cruel sadistic beautiful female. (There is violence here if you are squeamish). This female will stop at nothing to physically hurt those who she believes are in her way to gaining gold and money. The main character is easily visualised as he is well painted, as are all the players in this quite exciting drama. It is only vaguely credible as a story but that doesn’t detract from the entertaining read. There are many typos which distract a bit from the flow.
I read alot ! All kinds ,I love it . But every once in awhile a long comes a book that just goes to your heart . I couldn't stop . They were alot of sad ,scary and lots of hurt ,physical and tear your heart out kinda book .Amazing!
Lots of blood gore and violence carry the story of greed and betrayal in a gold mining town and its surroundings . The outcome is obvious but the path to it makes good reading
Not what I was expecting at all. Would make a great movie. Would have liked a little more insight into Haaken to know what he's thinking, but was a great read and will read more. I'm sure we will get to know Haaken a little better each time.
I am disappointed. Idea was to find Ulfred and save him. When Haaken ( some kind if hero) his brother, found Ulfred, he was already brutally tortured, mutilated by his pshico sister, and poor, inosent Ulfred died from grizzly bear attack??? That really upset me. Ulfred's sister started chain of unnecessary brutality and the author finished it off. Where is a logic in this book! Plot could be better developed into nice story.
