An exciting story that took me by surprise! I usually turn away from ghost stories, fantasy, etc., but the Native American folklore with a little supernatural fits in perfectly making this story complete. Former Detective Jack Slade is Not looking to be a hero to anyone, all he wants is the man who murdered his wife and partner. He plans on delivering his own type of justice, and nothing can stop him. While seeking information he teams up with an FBI Agent and a prostitute with a heart of gold. To get the information he needs Slade decides to work with them both, especially after hearing a young Native American woman was raped and scarred, and they all want to help find the culprits.
They are lucky enough to have some great contacts and a little help from the spirits to keep them on the right trail. Such a fantastic adventure, with characters you feel you personally know very quickly, and scenes that keep you reading as fast as you can to see what happens! I loved this start to a new series and can Not wait to see what Slade gets up to next time!! A 5 STAR story that will make you believe a little in the spirits that lead us.

Wow, what a fabulous book this was. It has the feel of a Jack Reacher novel, a vigilante character with a difference. What a great MC Jack is, I think I’m in love!
There is also a great supporting cast, both male and female, in particular, I loved the feistiness and back story of Selina.
There’s also a paranormal element to Hunter which was a very welcome addition. Itching to say more but to do so would give some of the plot away.
Jack is a former police detective and is on a mission to right so many wrongs that come his way.
I also enjoyed the fact there is a Native American influence woven throughout the pages, a reminder of the author’s fantastic Loki Redmond series, which I also adored.
I’m trying my hardest not to give too much away for this one. Needless to say, I absolutely loved everything about this book, especially the fast-pace that does a Stirling job of dragging the reader through the intriguing plot. I genuinely finished this book in two sittings. AMAZING read.

I tore through this thriller, couldn’t put it down. It’s the first in the Jack Slade series, a tough vigilante character you'll come to love. Former Detective Jack Slade is on the hunt for the man who murdered his wife and partner. In his search, he teams up with an FBI Agent and a good-hearted prostitute, making a wonderful trio of characters. Into the mix comes Native American folklore with a bit of mysticism, and the result is fascinating. A young Native American woman has been raped and scarred. The trio join forces to find the assailant, thus cementing their relationship. The story is fast paced with terrific action, adventure, and characters. This is a fabulous start to a new series, and I can’t wait to see what Jack Slade comes up against next! Great read, 5 stars!

While I did have some confusion early on about the characters I quickly figured them all out and fell in love with the characters. Don't let that two minute confusion stop you...keep reading as it is worth it. Ms. Prather has an story that weaves through several characters and to be honest you will find something in yourself, if you think about it, in each character. As they struggle to figure out what is right and wrong and where they stand they do it together, for the most part. They are a good team and I hope we see more of them. You will laugh, cry, root for them and lose sleep trying to not put the book down! I hope you enjoy this book as I have.

This book is soooo good! Jack is an ex cop now working on helping people get justice for crimes committed against them. Put together with an FBI agent, Trent and a prostitute called Selina, they work together to investigate the targeted attack on a young Native American girl which leads onto so much more. All three have other demons they are fighting from their past.
A fantastic read,so looking forward to hearing more from this team.
