A seemingly "quick" divorce between Suzanna Trent and All-Star Phillies catcher Tim Trehan three months after their spontaneous marriage goes awry when Suzanna learns that she is pregnant and Tim, realizing that he cannot live without her, vows to reclaim her heart. Original.
Kasey Michaels is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of more than 100 books (she doesn't count them). Kasey has received three coveted Starred Reviews from Publishers Weekly, two for the historical romances, THE SECRETS OF THE HEART and THE BUTLER DID IT, and a third for contemporary romance LOVE TO LOVE YOU BABY (that shows diversity, you see). She is a recipient of the RITA, a Waldenbooks and Bookrak Bestseller award, and many awards from Romantic Times magazine, including a Career Achievement award for her Regency era historical romances. She is an Honor Roll author in Romance Writers of America, Inc. (RWA)
Kasey has appeared on the TODAY show, and was the subject of a Lifetime Cable TV show "A Better Way," in conjunction with Good Housekeeping magazine, a program devoted to women and how they have achieved career success in the midst of motherhood (short version: "with great difficulty").
A highly praised nonfiction book, written as Kathryn Seidick, "...OR YOU CAN LET HIM GO," details the story of Kasey and her family during the time of her eldest son's first kidney transplant.
Kasey has written Regency romances, Regency historicals, category books including novellas and continuities and a few series "launch" books, and single title contemporaries. She has coped with time travel, ghosts, trilogies, the dark side, the very light side, and just about everything in between. Hers is also the twisted mind behind her ongoing Maggie Kelly mystery series starring a former romance writer turned historical mystery writer whose gorgeous hunk of a fictional hero shows up, live and in color, in her Manhattan living room – to melt her knees, to help her solve murders, and to leave the top off her toothpaste. And, says Kasey, she's just getting started!
Really enjoyed this one which I went into with no expectations either way. The baseball portions were fun and easy to read and didn't overwhelm the story. Nor do I think they would overwhelm anyone who was't familiar with the game. The story was light hearted but realistic. The hero was a fun character who had always been kind of lackadaisical towards anything that wasn't baseball but once he realized his spur of the moment marriage was in trouble he settled down and tried hard. There was more POV from him that the heroine which is really what I prefer. Just a sweet fun read all around.
I read the first book in the series a very long time ago. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to read the next book in the series and really remember what had happened previously but it turns out it doesn’t really matter. This book could standalone on its own. But I really thoroughly enjoyed it! I loved Suzanne and her approach to the relationship between her and Tim. Tim was a little bit much in the beginning but he really grew up quite fast when it came to marriage and impending fatherhood. The plot was very fun and entertaining and the character development was very well done. I like Joey quite a bit even though we don’t see him much. The authors use of humor and jokes and various other methods of keeping the readers attention are effective. I’ve read this author before and have read several books by her, so the fact that I found this one particularly entertaining is not overly shopping. I highly recommend this book for a very light summer time worried. It’s uncomplicated entertaining and will get your warm fuzzies going.
Suzanna Trent has had a crush on Phillies catcher Tim Trehan since high school. Tim knew it and treated her like a pal and used her frequently to do his homework or other yucky jobs. Years have gone by and Suzanna is a successful business woman. Jack, Tim's twin has had to retire from the Yankees as a pitcher the previous year due to an injury. He married shortly after when his cousin left her baby on his doorstep. The Trehan curse says Tim does the same thing Jack does but slightly later. Tim's game is off because he's having nightmares about either getting injured, married or having a baby. When Suzanne shows up at one of his games they go out afterwards, get drunk and have mind blowing sex. He then talks her into going to Vegas to get married hoping if he does one of the 3, the others will pass him by. Time thinks life will be great, but doesn't realize he's actually falling in love with Suzanne until she's pregnant with twins and he may lose her. His weak attempts at courting annoy Suzanne (and me), but he does pull it off.
I'm on a real streak of choosing books with insufferable main characters. Tim was a lying, manipulative jerk and Suzanna thought that keeping secrets was a good way to improve their marriage. In what world does that make sense?
I would like to thank the author, Kasey Michaels, for the complimentary copy of this book to read and review.
This was a cute and predictable story, where two childhood friends reunite, after a one-night stand, fly to vegas and get married.
One thing leads to another, and she ends up pregnant, and his cat even knocks up her purebred cat, whom she intended to breed with another purebred.
A whole lot of no communication, leading to no trust, drags all their friends up to their business and taking sides of who is right and wrong in their relationship.
As noted earlier, a cute and predictable story, but overall an OK read.
The best part of the story I liked was near the beginning where after the one-night stand of childhood best-friends they fly to vegas and get hitched. Totally got that real factor going because lets face it everyone has done something spontanous and stupid at least once in their lives.
Cute story about two people who get married for the wrong reasons to the right person. They grew up together and split going different directions at college. Him to the east coast her to the west. Faith or rather a long time crush puts Suzanna at one of Tim's games to reunite and catch up. Of course sexual attraction, lots of beer, and the curse bring these two together for awesome drunken sex and an extreamly unromantic sorta of marriage proposal.
Well if you read the back blurb or even the title. ..you guessed it she ends up pregnant and his cat, Lucky, even knocked up her cat Margo. So yep baby and kittens and a whole lotta drama. Secrets and not talking add to their problems. Trust is a big issue between them along with everyone all up in their buisness.
So cute story, good characters, tad predictable nothing overly special, but an okay read.
I really enjoyed this book. The humor was really good. I liked the characters, emotions, confusion and situations. There were some good steamy scenes and great friendships. I would definitely like to read Jack's story. I would read this again, but more as a cuddle-up book. Nice and cozy with laughing and crying parts. Enjoy
This book is pretty hilarious and it's also delightful. It follows the hero and heroine who went to school together than met some years later and got hitched in Vegas without REALLY knowing each other. I couldn't help laughing through, well just about all of it and oohhing and aahhing over the sweet parts, it's worth the read!
You should read book 1 in the series before reading this book to really get a feel for the characters. This book is so funny and picks right up after the first book. If you want a book that will have you laughing this series is for you.
I read this two weeks ago and I remember enjoying it but for the life of me I can't remember what I wanted to rate it. I do know it was fluffy fun so if you're looking for a fun quick read it's not a bad pick.
I hated that she let him walk all over her. But she made up for it because when she was mad she took it way over the top. It was cool reading about baseball. Wish the characters where a bit more filled out.
There is something so fun about Kasey Michael's characters that I always enjoy. I own this in paperback but was in the mood to read it again so I bought it for my Kindle. It was even more fun than I remembered.
I enjoyed the book. I wish the two had talked to each other more to avoid some of their problems, but overall I enjoyed reading about the characters from the first book and seeing Tim grow up.
This is an author that I have read a lot of and have added her books to my 'keeper' book shelf. Most I have read at least twice and some even more than that.
A fast paced easy, fun to read book. Couldn't put it down. Lighthearted (with a few intense moments scattered throughout). Haven't read many of her books, will have to pick up a couple more!
Wow book two was just as good as book one, Tim and Suzanna had to go through ups and downs to learn that trust is the most important thing in any marriage.
