I know of him from the Stravinsky connection, in my opinion its not a book to skim, his knowledge and erudition deserve attention. Gives lots of leads to google for and learn of and I even found one mistake .... Mr Craft !!

Could be viewed as a terse style but thats really because its written as diary entries and with a vocabulary that initially irritated but I soon realised he was like a very good school teacher, he brings you on, something for everyone. I even bought another copy for a friend of mine. An incredibly gifted man.
