In the 1960’s, London was ruled, not by the Queen, but by the gangland criminals of the underworld. Threats, and violence was the hallmark of the reign of two men called, Ronnie and Reggie.. Built from nothing, a criminal empire was born. Extortion, terror, blades and guns were the weapons, cash and respect were the currency. Protection, threats, theft and murder, the reward was life in jail. A legacy of psychotic villainy unseen before and unmatched since. This was the sinister legacy of the brothers known simply as the Krays..
The grammar does let this book down, but if you overlook that then this is probably one of the best books on The Krays that I have read. It's very well researched and contains more information than most other books on this subject. It's a good and entertaining read as well. I would recommend this to anybody with an interest in this subject. If this book had been properly proof-read and the grammatical errors put right then this book would be right up there with the very best books on The Krays.
This was a compelling story however I couldn't rate it higher due to wrong or misspelled words and problems grammar that made it hard to follow what the author was trying to say. Despite this, the book provided insights into their story and revealed details I had never heard before. I would recommend it to anyone interested in the Kray's story but caution about the issues I previously mentioned.
I have never, ever read a book with so many spelling, grammatical and factual mistakes. On many occasions read a sentence several times to make sense of it. Whoever did the proof reading should be shot! e.g. Belmarsh Prison in South West London? I don't think so! Such a shame, it could have been a really good book. Pauline
Book is full of interesting facts but is let down through errors and poor grammar. A few sentences throughout the book don't make sense. Book could do with a decent proofreader.
