Couldn't decide between 4 and 5 stars so I rounded up. This story sucked me right in. It starts 22 years after the accident mentioned in the blurb where the hero Rhys was in an accident that killed three people. I particularly enjoyed the first part where you found out about the accident and its aftermath and how far Rhys had come since then. Once he returns to the town where he grew up, it became a little more ordinary in its redemption theme. Almost anything I could say about the book would be a spoiler so this will be a fairly short review.

Suffice it to say that I liked it. It was well written. Characterization was well done particularly of Rhys. He had struggled hard to overcome his past but was not at all a forgiving man. I liked that as it was different. The heroine was okay and had some cute lines but she wasn't as strong a character as I would have liked for him. I had never heard of this author until I saw a rec here on Goodreads and I'm glad I found her and will definitely look up more of her books.

This book was kind of predictable, but still enjoyable. There were a few tense moments near the end. But all in all I liked the book.

This book could have been cut in half. The romance stuff was good, but the stuff about the business side of things got kind of long and boring. Loved Brinas's kids though!
