I was so excited to read this story and it was just as intriguing as I imagined! After reading the main book to get the series started, I knew that Claudette and Bronson would wind up together as agents. The twist was they had to get married so that he could keep her safe on their assignments, with the ending being an annulment. But much more was in store for this couple! Claudette, a widow from Louisiana, was excited she got the job as a Pinkerton agent. Being tied to handsome Bronson seemed to make the stars align! As the two go on an assignment together, the suspense begins as they try to solve the mystery. I will not say anymore than that, but trust me I loved every page of this story. A sweet novella that will make you excited to read the next book in The Pinkerton Matchmaker series! Well done Christine!
The editing of this story was fine. The characters likable, but not much development. The detective skills were missing big time. I finished the book, because I hoped it would get better.
When Claudette reads an article about women being allowed to join the Pinkerton detective agency she leaves her home and travels to Denver, where the agency is located.
Bronco is a Native American agent for the Pinkerton detective agency. When he finds out that the senior agents must marry their female partners, he's as shocked as all the other agents.
When Claudette and Bronco meet there is an instant attraction, and when it's announced that the agents and their female partners will have to marry Claudette hopes that she'll be paired with Bronco.
At first, Bronco is paired with another lady, but she refuses to be married to an "Indian", so then Claudette and Bronco are married.
Their first assignment is in New Mexico, where several women have disappeared, including the governor's daughter. Since Bronco is the best tracker of all the agents, that was a no-brainer to send him.
Will the newly married agents be able to solve the case, and will they actually fall in love with each other, or will they opt for annulment when return to Denver?
An Agent for Claudette is the fourth book in the Pinkerton Matchmaker series. Although it is a part of a series it can definitely stand alone. But, if you are reading the series, you will be thrilled to continue to get to know Archie, Marianne, Pearl and the other Agents at the Denver Pinkerton office. The story brings up several universal themes including: love at first sight; the importance of prayer and following your feelings, during a case that involves human trafficking, slavery and the treatment of people of color. I fell in love with Bronco and Claudette and was rooting for them during their journey to their very own HAE! I received an advanced reader copy of An Agent for Claudette for an honest review.
Bronco is the ladies man of the agents, what will it take for him to think about settling down and getting married? One firecracker widow from the South! Claudette is feisty, confident, smart and determined to be in control of her choices going forward...but will she get that chance or are her choices once again taken from her? I really enjoyed the verbal sparring between Bronco and Claudette, and that she knocks him a little off balance and keeps him on his toes. Bronco has definitely met his match and she brings him to his knees from the moment their eyes meet. Such a great series and it gets better with every book, the whole series is available on Kindle Unlimited too!
This was another fun story about the Pinkertons Matchmaking. Claudette and Bronco are totally different, yet in many ways the same. Claudette is from New Orleans and Bronco is an Indian. The gifts they both bring to the case and the marriage are fun and helpful. They fall for each other immediately, but through some belly laugh situations they come to realize they can’t annul the marriage at the end of the case. Claudette learns that relying on Bronco is a very good thing. And Bronco learns that having a wife is even better than he imagined. Looking forward to book 5
Why would a couple who doesn’t know each other get married? The Pinkerton office wants to train women to help solve cases and what better way to do that then matching them with Pinkerton men. When Claudette and Bronco meet each other they are attracted to each other but can they also work together to solve a missing person case? And will they stay together or get an annulment? This is an interesting theme. When you have finished this book you’re curious about other couples.
This is book 4 in the series. It features a Southern widow and a Native American knife thrower. Their story is intertwined with another pair of agents. Race, slavery, and kidnapping all are issues.
I’m really enjoying this series. All of these authors, except one, are new to me. Great continuity and concept. Hard to wait a week for the next one.
Bronco and Claudette were married as Pinkerton Agents were required to partner together on cases. They each believed they loved the other at first sight, but certainly didn't tell each other. They are sent on a case involving kidnapped women and now two Pinkerton lady agents have been taken. Bronco must come to the rescue.
I love the Pinkerton series and this was another great book in that series. The Characters are fun and the banter between all the agents made me wish I could be right there with them. The courting scenes were dreamy and romantic. The plot was excellent with mystery and team work between husband and wife agents. Fun and flirty with a twist of intrigue. An up all night read for sure!
i was excited to read this book because Bronco was one of my favorite characters in the opening book and I wanted to get to know his story and little more. I really liked the relationship between Bronco and Claudette and how they had a connection from the first time they saw each other, but I expected a little more in the end when they finally expressed their feelings for each other.
About half this story takes place prior to Claudette and Bronco getting their case. I appreciated the time spent developing their relationship. Having said that, I gave this story 4 stars because the 2nd half felt rushed and the case was left unresolved. Hoping that another book in series provides a more satisfying conclusion to this story .
Claudette and Bronson Such a mix of characters and delightful storyline. As the mystery of the missing ladies moves forward you see how the agents come to trust each other as they work to figure out by working the case back wards. You'll have to read the engaging story. part of a series but stands alone.
Loved this one! They could have sped up the first1/3 of the story, since reading the other books I was less interested in the minute details of being selected as a Pinkerton from first batch of females. However, Bronco is fairly dreamy, Claudette is so cute, and their mystery engaging! This story ties in the story of two other agents...
Mystery and intrigue and a kind of forced marriage leads to adventure with a few twists and turns and the answers to solve investigations. Add humor and you have a story.
I’m glad that agent Bronco was among the first few stories in this series because it would have been hard to wait for his story since he was my pick of the lot as the most intriguing,,independent, unruly, and devastatingly handsome! And he did indeed meet his match. 😁👍💜
Claudette has her work cut out for her with the wild man that is her husband and the scary dangerous job ahead of them. Good thing she is a smart cookie who has an interesting sidekick in another female agent.
This was a good love story with suprising twist & turns. Meet Bronson & Claudette, 2 people who know they belong together. Follow them through journey of discovery & the case they were sent to solve.
Bronco and Claudette become partners to solve the mystery of finding a lost girl. They learn so much about each other in the process. A quick, clean read
This is great series even though there are different authors
I can't get over how cohesive and structured this series is, especially since every author is different. I enjoyed this story about love at first sight. A great plot and strong characters.
Bronco and Claudette are attracted to each other before they find out they have to work together undercover. Claudette is sure Bronco can train her in knife throwing. -Babs
This author made too many vocabulary mistakes. For instance, using "discrete" instead of "discreet;" "imbibed" instead of "inebriated;" and several more. She definitely needs a competent proofreader!
It was so refreshing to see one of the agents fall in love before he was paired up. They make a great couple. Waiting on next story. They keep getting better.
