I was missing the lions at the New York City Public Library. In fact, I was missing NYC at holiday time. I ordered Susan Larkin's book and love every page. The story of the lions, their sculptor, the New Yorker covers and cartoons featuring the lions, the photos of the lions in hats through the years and the Lions Come To Life chapter have made my holiday this year. It is a pretty and charming book that will be face out on my bookshelves to grin at throughout the year. Thank you Susan.

This book was listed as one of several books which helped Finoa Davis with her research for "The Lions of Fifth Avenue."

Not a common book - not available in my public library.

What a delightful picture book for adults, full of historical tidbits, political cartoons, etc., all about the marble lions outside the NYPL.

A tiny volume that must have been created for the NYPL gift shop. I was able to get it through interlibrary loan, and it's a delight!

I only wish it were longer! Rediscovered this book today in a box of many others. This is one of those books you can read through in the space of about fifteen or twenty minutes, but you come back to repeatedly to linger over. Packed with all kinds of photographic and historical gems, it is equal parts informative and entertaining. Worth picking up!
