Head-to-head communication happens through thoughts and words, while heart-to-heart communication happens through feelings. People, throughout the ages, have felt that they cannot communicate their feelings. If we could communicate all our feelings through words, then we would be leading very shallow lives. Life is rich because feelings cannot be captured in words! So we use all these gestures - we hug, so that hearts come closer, we give flowers, so that feelings are conveyed... We put all our efforts into expressing our feelings...and still, feelings remiain unexpressed. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar established an international educational and humanitarian NGO - The Art of Living, in 1982. He talks really basics of relationships and tells a few interesting observation of our minds that can free us from most worries. The relationship advices are applicable and he also speaks articulately about homosexuality. It's a simple, short and really good handbook to keep any sort of relationship go as smooth as butter.
I think it was a super light and an insightful book. Starting to talking about some interesting observations of our minds and worries. The book advices on every aspect of relationships with yourself, parents, partners, society, God, etc. Talking all about the immense and deeper meanings of spirituality, joy, inner peace, happiness, disagreements, emotions, change, intellect, energy and more. The book has also provided some informative lessons on perception, observation and expression. Despite not being able to agree completely on a few parts about love and partnership, I think this book can really help one attain and communicate their feelings to themselves and the world. A must read to all human beings.
