Cowboy Cravings

Rate this book
Annie Rutherford came west seeking a new life, never dreaming love would be part of the mix. The cravings cowboys Jessie Conrad and Grant Douglas incite in her are fierce. The two men prove they are more than up to the task of satisfying Annie's hunger.

Jessie and Grant know Annie thinks their relationship is only temporary. They're willing to give her plenty of loving—and plenty of time—to heal from the past and get used to their unique brand of happy-ever-after.

But the past—in the form of Annie's ex-con brother-in-law—comes back to haunt her, and she's thrown into a deadly game of cat and mouse. She didn't know about the jewel heist, or that her deceased husband had a second, secret partner, or that her brother-in-law is out of prison and on his way to find her. He intends to claim more than just the stolen gems, but not if Jessie and Grant have anything to say about it.

Morgan has been a writer since she was first able to pick up a pen. In the beginning it was a hobby, a way to create a world of her own, and who could resist the allure of that? Then as she grew and matured, life got in the way, as life often does. She got married and had three children, and worked in the field of accounting, for that was the practical thing to do and the children did need to be fed. And all the time she was being practical, she would squirrel herself away on quiet Sunday afternoons, and write.

Most children are raised knowing the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule. Morgan’s children also learned the Paper Rule: thou shalt not throw out any paper that has thy mother’s words upon it.

Believing in tradition, Morgan ensured that her children’s children learned this rule, too.

Life threw Morgan a curve when, in 2002, she underwent emergency triple by-pass surgery. Second chances are to be cherished, and with the encouragement and support of her husband, Morgan decided to use hers to do what she’d always dreamed of doing: writing full time. “I can’t tell you how much I love what I do. I am truly blessed.”

Morgan has always loved writing romance. It is the one genre that can incorporate every other genre within its pulsating heart. Romance showcases all that human kind can aspire to be. And, she admits, she’s a sucker for a happy ending.

Morgan’s favorite hobbies are reading, cooking, and traveling – though she would rather you didn’t mention that last one to her husband. She has too much fun teasing him about having become a “Traveling Fool” of late.

Morgan lives in Southwestern Ontario with a cat that has an attitude, a dog that has no dignity, and her husband of thirty-six years, David.

Good enough to get me going...

Shortly after Annie wakes up from a coma, she learns her abusive husband was killed in a robbery and the child she was 7 months pregnant with is no longer a possibility, nor is having any more children. After a bit of planning, she packs what fits into her car and leaves NYC for some BFE town in the state of Washington. She buys the local general store with some insurance money and set out to begin a new life for herself.

Best friends from almost birth, Jesse and Grant have had their eye on Annie from the moment she came to town. They share everything, always had. On the one year anniversary of Annie's arrival they decide to put a plan into motion to win her heart, together.

Meanwhile, Annie's deceased husband's brother gets out of jail and has only 2 things on his mind - locating the stolen necklace he's planning on cashing in on and Annie, even if she doesn't want him.

Well she doesn't. She wants those cowboys and under the rouse of offering her riding lessons (huh, riding lessons) the guys get Annie to spend more time with them. Pretty soon, they're spending more and more time together, but Annie doesn't think it's going to last, they guys have other intentions - they want her and they want her forever.

After Annie freaks out about the guys plans for the future, the baddie catches up with her. Then the shit hits the fan and the day is saved and then...HEA.

My thoughts - I liked it. The story was so-so and really rated closer to a 3, but the sex was smokin! That's why it got a 4. I liked the main characters and the plot was ok. I feel any emotional ties to the characters though, one of the reasons the story would only get a 3 had not the sex been so terrifically hot.

Really enjoyed this book from start to finish. Not a long read, but the characters were well developed and there was a strong story line to go along with all the sexiness. Would definitely read again, and would recommend to anyone who likes a good story told with well written sex scenes!

She needs to stand on her own two feet and cut her ties to the family of a criminal husband who is now dead, and her own family of origin who has never "been there" for her to any degree. Now she has settled on a little town that has provided a means of supporting herself, and after a year of residency, she can act on the friendship of two men who have been in love with her almost from the first moment she arrived but who have given her the personal space to put her life together. There are some bad guys here who are after something left over from her hubby's criminal past, and because of that she is in mortal danger. There are some other background characters who the reader is not really sure are good guys, but as this well-written romance/suspense tale unfolds, the reader is slowly let in on the mystery. An entertaining menage romance full of hot loving and people who are real and who could easily be living in our Western United States right now.
