Wow! This book brings the laughs, the sighs and the angst readers look for in a great romance. Cade Stone is used to getting the deal done, but in this case one lone woman is stopping the deal from going through. Unable to communicate with the woman in question, he heads to the small town of Daisy to do some in person persuasion, as well as do a favour for his brother. The favour actually leads to him meeting a beautiful woman who makes his pulse race and stirs something unexpectedly in his heart. The beauty in question mistakes him for a man down on his luck and slips him some cash before she walks away. When he finds out that the beautiful woman was also the business owner he had come to see, Julia Teague, he is both surprised and intrigued. A visit to her shop ends in him accepting a temporary job he doesn’t need as a near billionaire, but will afford him a chance to get close to Julia and perhaps persuade her to sell.
Of course the deception goes on longer than he had planned, because being near Julia has ignited a need in Cade to get even closer to her. He discovers she is as sweet and generous as she is beautiful, and he begins to understand that his deception and motives will hurt her. Even Cade doesn’t know everything that is going on behind the scenes of this deal, but when all is revealed to Julia, it is not just her that is devastated by the fallout. Can a deception really lead to true love?
I love the vivid characters in this story....their endearing traits, little quirks and their determination to succeed. The little twists and secrets in this story make it even more captivating. This book was delightful to read. I can’t wait to to revisit the small town of Daisy and it’s citizens. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
