Her debut as manga artist is in 1999 with STRAY DOG. In 2001 she started working on her famous and award winning series Fullmetal Alchemist, that soon gets a successful anime adaptation.
Other works include Silver Spoon (銀の匙 Silver Spoon, Gin no saji Silver Spoon).

Return of King Androgoras and great use of martial arts chains. Great storytelling, and breathtaking battle scenes. I wish I could save all the horses 😢 Queen Tahamenay found her voice and I love it. Farangis leads a Calvary with her fire bow and Peshawar is impressed.

I’m going to blaspheme and criticize one thing... Guiscard’s inner monologues are way too much—walls of text, those. Outside of that, this series is perfection. Yoshiki Tanaka has created a formidable tapestry onto which the master Hiromu Arakawa embroiders to gorgeous illustrated life. The siege at Peshawar is one amazing battle sequence after another. The political intrigue continues apace. The darkness of Mount Demavant remains a rising mystery. Oh, did I forget to mention the return of the king!?! So many threads to weave, so amazingly illustrated. I wonder if there’s any chance that Arakawa sensei would consider providing the same treatment for Galactic Heroes? It is hard to imagine how she ever managed to sleep while producing this series and much of Silver Spoon largely simultaneously (the later was completed in Japan at the end of 2019)—all while raising at least three children no less! It always surprises me that this series isn’t appreciated as much as other shōnen manga. It is epically good!

In diesem Band geht es wieder stark weiter. Tolle Kämpfe und Wendungen warten auf Arslan und seine Gefährten. Dabei geht es auch an anderen Stellen wieder etwas mehr mit der Geschichte weiter. Es bleibt auf jeden Fall spannend rund um Arslan und die anderen Charaktere. Ob es bald wohl wieder Rückschläge zu verzeichnen gibt? Aktuell läuft zwar nicht alles rund aber es läuft trotzdem gut.

Another exciting installment. Kubard is absolutely hilarious. I do wish I felt like the characters were in a little more peril, though. For a six-month long struggle, they've faced little loss... I'm interested to see what Arslan's mother is up to...

I still love this series and its characters and I’m excited to see where the story goes. I do wish that I could read this series one right after another because I forgot about characters I haven’t seen for multiple volumes.

A few errors but still good
Aside from a few typos here and there (Kubard's name was used as Daryun and Kishward's names and Estelle was given Daryun's name on the current positions map) this was a very enjoyable read with Arakawa's amazing art!

Lots of siege tactics in this volume, so while engaging I read it too quickly. I anxiously anticipate the next volume.

Arslan and the gang deal with the restless neighboring country and are drawn into their politics. Arslan’s qualities remain that he is idealistic and cares for his subordinates. Very grateful for the map at the end of each volume, which recaps the location of each major faction/character.

Chronique sur mon blog.
À Ecbatâna, des secrets gardés jusqu’ici sortent au grand jour et un climat d’autant plus suspicieux et traître commence à planer sur la capitale. On retrouve dans ce tome le roi Andragoras qui aura un rôle non négligeable, bien qu’on n’ait toujours pas les réponses qu’il a pu donner à Sahm concernant la vérité derrière les naissances de Hilmes et d’Arslân.
D’autres personnages refont leur apparition alors qu’on ne les avait pas croisé depuis un moment : Merlane avec la future reine du Maryam, toujours à la recherche de Hilmes et la reine Tahaminé qui a des demandes très surprenantes.
Les troupes parses reprennent le chemin vers Ecbatâna après avoir quitté le Fort de Saint-Manuel avec les quelques prisonniers lusitaniens, dont Étoile, qui continue à rechigner mais semble se rendre compte qu’Arslân n’a rien de l’image du démon cruel que les lusitaniens ont propagé depuis des années semble-t-il. Le tome précédent montrait bien à quel point une telle propagande pouvait être dommageable : alors que Arslân proclamait que les lusitaniens seraient gardés en vie et en sécurité s’ils se rendaient, et seraient simplement faits prisonniers, les quelques personnes qui avaient réussi à se cacher ont préféré sauter d’une tour pour éviter la mort et des tortures qu’ils pensaient certaines.
Comme si la situation n’était pas assez complexe, un autre pays voisin prépare une attaque sur la Parse en profitant de la confusion et de sa position de faiblesse ! C’est la première fois de la série où j’ai été un peu confuse sur la position des troupes et sur le déroulement de la bataille : ce qui montre que jusqu’ici tout était exécuté à merveilleuse, avec suffisamment d’indications pour comprendre les positions géographiques. Mais il n’est pas impossible que j’étais trop fatiguée lors de la lecture de ce tome pour suivre correctement.
Le prochain tome promet de nous montrer une bataille exemplaire et j’espère que nous aurons quelques réponses sur les demandes la reine Tahaminé et les secrets de la ligne royale parse !

Quedé 🧍♀️😱 con Andrágoras, no me lo veía venir.
Y debo comentar, que el manga tiene el nombre de Arslan, y casi ni salió en este tomo, pero estuve súper metida en todo. Todas las batallas que se muestran son muy buenas.
