“Empower to Transform” is an in-depth analysis of gender inequality and some of the concepts that revolve around it. This aspect that has received a lot of attention from researchers still remains a mystery to most people. Due to the lack of understanding on the matter, most women find themselves unable to pull through from the chains that oppress and prevent them from achieving success.
This analysis starts by exploring the effects and dangers of atrocities on women. It then digs deeper to matters related to equality at home and work, diversity and inclusion, women in leadership, role of men in women empowerment and empower to transform.
Other than introducing the society to the merits of women empowerment, this is a guide that will motivate and inspire women of all ages, races and ethnicities to revolt against the social injustice that they face.
It’s not your ordinary self-help book as it dives into the core issues that need to be addressed when it comes to empowering women. That aside, this book also touches on some of the most sensitive topics such as diversity and inclusion which not only affect women but also people of different races.
Full of well-researched and discussed topics, this is a book that will change your perspective towards gender equality. Written for both women and men, “Empower to Transform” leaves you with a lot of valuable information long after you have turned the final page.

We all face situation and insecurities because we are women, isn’t it? Why every problem is straightly coming to us unless this comes through the society and because of narrow thinking of some peoples we all as women have to face the problems … in this book author gives many ways to speak against the wrong and illegal things, we also a human we should take stand for our rights. One heart-touching line from the author in this book- "Being a Barman is easy but being a woman not so easy". This is a must-read for those who think they should be silent. No men NO.
Don’t judge a book by its cover or title or preface or even the first chapter in this case.
Being one of those very few who read the prefaces, introductions and sometimes credits/acknowledgements too, this line in the preface: “We long for the day when we will walk into an office full of more ladies than gents”, disappointed me. It made me question if I should at least read a book written by someone who thinks Reverse-sexism is the perfect answer to the existing sexism.
This is a good read with the amalgamation of crucial statistics, motivating poems but lacks what is promised: Solutions to the problems. Issues are well documented and researched but the solutions seemed lacking and generic. My personal favorite is the ‘Raise your voice’ chapter. As stated, the book gets better and half-achieves the aim right from the second chapter. Kudos to the title! The language is simple which makes it a light read.
A few cons that made me think that authors are biased in their perception:
- “In 2011, the government of India introduced the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ initiative.” I was puzzled to see this as I was sure that it is in 2015 but not 2011. Hope the authors will correct this.
- When pointing at the religions, Hinduism gets 2 paragraphs, while Islam gets only one and doesn’t talk about Christianity itself.
- “Female infanticide in China dates back to 2000 years but it declined in Communist era.” Would love to see the evidence, because Communist era is when millions died due to famine and this statement seems preposterous.
Overall, a book that might not change your perception but is a decent collection of related blogs, articles, numbers, that help you articulate the gender bias in our society.
This book is one another book on women empowerment but the amount of research it contains is not letting it become a one-time read. I like to read non-fiction books the most and if the basis is on women empowerment then it naturally adds on it.
If I start talking about the situation of women in our society’s head and heart, it will be a waste of time. Being a girl I went through the same situation as every woman “have to”. From judging a woman for being a woman to treating them as trash- more or less every women have faced these at least once in their life time. The society has always showed the path of independence to women only to call them a burden at the end of the day. And the physical torment women go through and the impact of that on both body and mind is something which can’t ever be put into words. Altogether women are forced to be ashamed of their existence severally and that also for no legit reason. The “fight” we are performing for the equality of gender is actually miserable because no woman deserves that but now when we are actually compelled to face the situation we need to do that stronger everyday than yesterday. And here lies the whole point of this book.
From the blurb the book actually looked very much strong but as I proceeded I found more data than an actual story. It’s anyway okay because statistics is the most important thing to form a statement, how much obvious it might be. The situations like physical harassment, killing of new-born girl child, judging one woman’s action only because of her gender kept on becoming more vivid as every data was being explained. I can’t imagine exactly how much research must have been needed to form such a strong data. Every aspect of gender inequality and how to face that is captivated in the book. I liked how the contribution of men is written in order to establish a proper empowered society for women. The book’s mentality if not wholly but quite aligns with mine regarding the gender inequality. This book has so much to speak that at some point I felt where it was hidden for so many days from me. High appreciation to the author for the formation of such a book and will wait to read more powerful books from her in coming days.
This Women's Day, that is, on 8th March 2021, in the session which I was moderating, I had an interesting talk with one of the male members of that Community. The question which was put forward to him was being a male, does he think he would have been able to do same things he does now if he was a female, in the same exact way? And his answer was a straight no. No hesitance, no deep explanations or tries to be diplomatic; a clear cut no with a straight reason that gender inequality and discrimination is still here. And my dear friends, this is what this book is all about. Gender inequality and discrimination that women of 21st century are still now facing. But does that mean we are still living in that era where women is all about kitchen, children and sex? No, we have grown out of these all and we have some stark example of this in various fields, one recent instance is Kamala Harris. Then where are we exactly going wrong? This book will help you in shedding some light on that part.
The authors have done a thorough research on the said topic and has included some statistics to show that we have made only a little progress and we have a long way to go. Starting from female infanticide and atrocities on women, it's clearly written that how important it is to raise one's own voice when needed and to know the rights properly to raise that voice.
But will all change if women raise their voices only. No. It's our duty as a human being to create an equal environment at home as well as work. Empowering women is not easy and for that, diversity and inclusion at every place of work is equally important. And most importantly, women must think themselves strong and capable enough to be a leader.
But all these will not be easy because of the challenges women face when they start empowering and transforming themselves. In such situations, men play a very important role. Some may disagree with me. But I personally think as well, that in this journey of empowerment, both men and women shall walk and work together, then only it'll be truly empowering.
So does your work space has female members? Do they feel comfortable working there? Or if you are a member of the board of directors or higher officials, does your board has female voices as well? If yes, you must already know how easier it gets to work when both the genders come together to work on a project, if not, maybe try incorporating them once? I'm sure you'll see the difference. Believe me! It is worthy enough for the final outcome of your work. All you need is to find out the skills and polish them. And those who are at home, try making them feel comfortable and share the works equally. It'll make a home, a HOME with a smile on every space.
According to the latest NCRB report (2019), there were approximately 88 rape cases in a day in India - and this is just 10% of all crimes against women.
Let that small piece of information seep in. The book starts with a poem by Pablo Neruda and goes on to ask relevant questions in the context of gender parity in our society.
" Just to be at par, is that her real ordeal?" The authors quote studies and real life scenarios to bring to the forefront the issue of gender inequality that still plagues the world, in the 21st century; but in doing so it doesn't undermine all other forms of discrimination that " people " face at large for not adhering to the image of "normalcy" perpetuated in this society. This book can also be used for educational purposes. Imagine a scenario, where the young minds are taught the importance of gender parity, much like they are taught other subjects. It does sound utopian but it could be turned into reality.
The book uses different chapters to address discrimination on several fronts such as education, reproductive healthcare, female infanticide, gender pay gaps, to name a few.. It tries to shed light on topics such as gender equity, gender equality, gender mainstreaming, and the effect all this discrimination has on the mental well being of the victim. The problems are not the only things discussed, strategies to address those problems and to ensure women empowerment are also dealt with in depth.
Each chapter begins with a beautiful poem that helps in deepening the connection between the reader and the author, and draws attention to the problems at hand.
Another point that I wanted to address: According to information on public platforms, the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yoajana was launched in 2015, the book mentions it as 2011. I could be wrong but this needs a second check.
In this modern world, we could still see women who aren't aware of their rights, who are treated unfairly and so much more. This book aims at creating awareness in the minds of people to bring in gender equality and to empower and transform womanhood.
It is a well researched work, talking about the atrocities against womanhood like female infanticide, rape culture and also tells out how female infanticide affects the environment, altering the male female ratio and how rape or other traumatic incidents would affect a girl in the worst way ever. The author has also said some some possible ways, though that won't bring in a complete solution, will create some positive changes. It also concentrates on women rights, gender equality, breaking gender stereotypes and how both men and women could do for the cause of lifting and empowering women.
The writing style is simple to understand.
It would have been better with deepened analysis of the issues. This book provides a overview that are heard often by people talking about empowerment of women. I appreciate her for choosing this topic and her goal of empowering women but I expected something more in this book that would educate me more on the issues.
Empower to transform: Transform to empower is a non-fiction book about women written by Niraja Bandi and Arghya Chakraborty. This book talks about women and their struggles. The thought of this book started when the studies showed that pandemic has increased the cases of domestic violence. So, this book talks about women empowerment and the truth which need to be said and recognised.
I loved the book, it carries some of the many practical issues which are important. If we have to read and learn about women empowerment, it means that something is still untouched and unbalanced which is happening. The cover page of the book is simple and very much meaningful. The title is appropriate for the book with very deep meaning.
The author has written on various relations, need of women empowerment, gender equality etc. One has to read the book to get the true insights and meaning of women empowerment which is standing for what is right, leadership qualities etc. Overall, this book is recommended to all the people. It'll give you something to think and learn about.
Theme of this book revolves around transformation and empowerment. The journey of writing this book started when the author noticed that domestic violence is increasing due to covid-19 pandemic. Author and her colleague noticed that the impact of the pandemic was more Severe on women than men. In the beginning the Author has shared her journey to write this book. It is an in-depth analysis of gender inequality and hard hitting book on the subject of women empowerment , nicely penned ideas on empowerment of womens with included lot of practical advices. Some of the concepts that revolve around it. Book is generic and so transparent in writing and it was worth a great reading. One line of Author's touched very well - "Being a Barman is easy but being a women not so easy". There are umpteen points in this book which the author has explained very shipshape like- Focusing on gender relations, Raising awareness among men, ending stereotype of gender, equality in workplace and at home, women in leadership, diversity and inclusion, atrocities on women etc.
The idea that women can never be treated as equals or that they cannot match the intelligence and strength of menfolk has been perpetuated in our society right from the stage of inception. While decades back women had no voice, now, things are better than being completely bleak, for the women know what they deserve and are vocal enough to voice out their opinions. But does ‘being bold and straightforward’ alone serve the purpose? No. Since the belief resides in the minds of the men, it is equally important for the men to realize that women are their counterparts and deserve equal status as well as respect.
INSIGHT- Empower to Transform takes a had look at home and society from the perspective of how it treats women. This non-fiction book focusses on the many atrocities and biases that women have been and continue to be forced to suffer.
REVIEW- This book though very well-intentioned makes the mistake of dealing more with statistics, laws and clinical definitions of buzz words than real stories from real women. The authors have touched on very pertinent issues such as Rape Culture, Female Infanticide and The role of men in Women Empowerment among others but as readers we are unable to make an emotional connect with the book since it reads more like a series of articles.
STRENGTHS – The book is extremely well researched with lots of facts and figures shared to support an argument. The authors intent is clearly evident by the sheer effort put into writing this book It raises its voice on very important issues The poems scattered through the book provide a refreshing break and a unique take on women empowerment It is a very easy and simple read on a very complex subject
WEAKNESS- The book lacks emotion. Non-fiction books don’t have to be merely factual but can and have brought anecdotes, real stories and case studies to lend emotions to their writing.
Nowadays, we actually feel that women are shining in every field. But after reading this book one can understand that we still need to travel miles and miles to achieve gender equality and women empowerment. Moreover, this book speaks about the differences in wages, working hours etc between men and women. It is sad to knew that these differences exist worldwide even in this 21st century. The authors also addressed various ways to overcome all these stereotypes and how men can play a vital role in empowering women. The authors could have added more statistical information and real life stories to make this book more interesting. Overall a good book to know where we stand in this long journey of empowering women and letting them to make decisions on their own.
✴️ Empower to Transform is a deep analysis book of women empowerment and gender equality.....
✴️ The purpose of this book is mainly to create awareness of women's empowerment. It can be used for both educational and information purpose......
✴️ The book teaches about the benefits of empowering women and introduced some of the ways to make the change in the society.....
✴️ The book contains lot of points which I agree but somewhere I also disagree....
✴️ Writing style is simple for the readers, not much creative & I like the cover of the book perfectly suited to the content......
✴️ I don't find any unique point in the book, same points are repeated again and again in most of the chapters, like educate women, raise their voice, making law for the women safety etc. The points mentioned in the book are already known to everyone so I don't find any catching points.....
✴️ A good book to know the basic and common points of women employment.....
The book deals with women reinforcing and speaks of how women are suffering in their regular day to day existence. It moreover makes reference to the piece of men in women empowerment. The maker has referred to about rape cases, female infection, sexual direction inequality.Although it doesn't determine any response for the happing of events. I feel that the author should have formed stories and snippet to go with the factual information focuses to keep it genuinely intriguing and fascinating.
What I loved about the book is it's written in fundamental language. The way the author written poems in the between. The author has completed a heaps of examination beforehand for the book. Would recommend this book to everyone who would like to contribute to women empowerment.
EMPOWER TO TRANSFORM: TRANSFORM TO EMPOWERNiraja Bandi GENRE- LITERARY THEORY, GENDER STUDIES, NON FICTION MY RATING – 3/5 STARS “She was a pearl, a beautiful GIRL trying to take shelter in this materialistic world. You yourself, became so materialistic. You polluted mind dropped her down. That drop lost her existence, with the lost bemoan.” This self help book brings out all the factual elements related to gender equality and women empowerment in India and also from rest of the world. The book portrays the legitimate image of the society as a whole that how it differentiates between both the genders. Gender inequality is one of the major issue faced by each and every society, yet it is not been eradicated still even in the 21st century. The book introduce us to the insight in brief in the beginning, there are total 9 chapters outlining us nine basic issues faced by women in general and how we can abolish those by teaching the society and asking the women to speak up for themselves. This book render us ways to create awareness as gender equality and women empowerment always remains the issue but nothing is really done to make it effective. Though there are laws for protection of women through the atrocities happening to them yet we see only bare minimum change in the society. The book talks about how these atrocities like Rape culture, female infanticides, suppression, domestic violence and rest of the crimes affects the physical and mental wellness of women and even denied the basic educational and financial freedom. Few of the relevant things that this book has been vocal about is to speak up your mind, actively participate in the outside world, know your rights, to talk about what are women actually capable of doing and most preciously to raise your voice whenever you feel like you’re being mis- treated in any way. Be the advocate of basic human rights and start to see the changes around you. The poetry in the beginning of each chapter made more impact to understand the self worth and dignity each individual posses. Though this book was only factual and lack in emotions but it do emphasis on not just empowering women but also educating the whole society and all the genders, so this will help them to believe that not only women but all the genders deserves to be treated equally and are entitled the success and leadership they have earned.
FAB - BOOK REVIEW OF "Empower to Transform" by Niraja Bandi, Arghya Chakraborty
Genre - Non - Fiction (Sociology)
Rating -3.5/5
QOTD: A book which you read about ''Women Empowerment."?
This non-fiction book talks about how we treat women at home and in society, the different problems they face, and how to stop them is the main motto of this book. It has been a normal thing to the community that if a man is abusing or harassing a girl or woman, they think in these ways - We can't do anything as we do not have any strengths to do so, She is a girl if I save a girl from this then others will think that I do support women and don't support men which will further create a big fight between, I don't care about it as I don't know that girl or that boy! . If anyone of you or anyone you know thinks this way, I am sorry you shouldn't be feeling this way as I am trying to say that we humans should have some empathy over things. When we don't have it, things will go out of hand. The term "Women Empowerment" is often misunderstood and has its own definition, which is absolutely wrong. Let me tell you about what "Women Empowerment'' means or "Empowerment" in general - It gives us equality in everything we do or make, which will help us and our country in many ways. . So this book mainly talks about women empowerment and how we should achieve it. The language is lucid and beginner-friendly, but I feel a lack of power and fire in this book. Though the topics are so good, I really couldn't connect to them maybe because of writing style, so I feel that the writing style could be improved and also as I said, I don't feel the rage in the book, and that made me disappointed as when it is about these kinds of books and especially women empowerment I want to feel that anger of phoenix. Still, no, you can't find it in this book. So I will leave the choice to you about the book whether you want to pick it or not!

This is a kind of book that needs to be read by each member of our society. Do the topic that the book talks about is Gender inequality, in the 21st century we still let this Taboo rule over our society. The book discusses almost everything in depth regarding Social inequalities. The topic sounds very basic but the way author presented all the points its really worth reading, the book clearly shows the amount of effort put in by the author.
My take on a topic like gender inequality is that no one should be judged as capable or not capable of doing a certain task solely on the basis of the person's gender. There are many games like wrestling, powerlifting etc. where women were deprived of the opportunity to even participate and now they have won Olympic medals for the country. So i am totally against inequality.
The book tells you about how inequality still exists, why women are not able to come over this and most importantly what can be done to achieve an environment where men and women have no differences in the eye of our society.
The most important thing that the author brings into light is that its not only women who are discriminated but men aslo are equally discriminated on the basis of their colour, wealth and sexuality. The only problem is not the deprived opportunities to women, but the main concern is the voilence and harrassment that women go through in their life.
Its not only the government's duty to make strict policies to empower women, but the most important in women empowerment has to be played by the males of the society. Yes if we want a safe future for our County then we should help and push women to take lead in every department.
Each chapter begins with a heart touching poem and then the facts are told by the author based on thorough analysis. Reading this book will be an emotional affair because it will touch your soul. I felt really emotional while reading the i could keep this book down once i started reading it.
💪I have never read any book based on Women Empowerment & Gender Equality because all we do is to talk about it but in reality this is something which is still an issue in our society, there is still an existence of inequality when it comes to a women. We all have observed everything whether its our home or workplace. But i appreciate the step taken by the authors for spreading more and more words about these topics.
💪Empower to Transform” is an in-depth analysis of gender inequality, women empowerment and some of the other matters that revolve around it. Issues related to women have always received a lot of attention but the outcome is not satisfactory. We talk about Equality and Women Empowerment but its implementation and acceptance is quite difficult for society. Through this book, authors are trying to help women to break all the chains which are preventing them from achieving success. The objective of this book is to educate and inspire all the women out there that they should know their rights and to fight for the atrocities that have and continue to be committed to them.
💪The content of this book is really well researched and the facts mentioned here are really true and thought provoking. There are chapters that includes some really good topics and issues like Female Infanticide, Atrocities on Women, Diversity and Inclusion and so on. I appreciate that there is a chapter named "The Role of Men in Women Empowerment". I think this book should be a must read especially for Men because women already know what they are suffering and dealing. There are some team good and beautiful touching poems in the start of every chapter, I got emotional so many times, its a heart touching, deep, inspiring and emotional book. Wonderful work done by Authors, I really appreciate all the efforts they did for women out there.

🌸Empower to transformers describe a society where women's rights are being violated and are not valued as much as men in society.🌸
🌸Gender equality is one of the biggest issues. If you do not think this is true, try to get a real look anywhere in your workplace or diversity in general. It becomes an even bigger issue when women are denied basic freedom and financial freedom even in their own home.🌸
🌸The book gives insight into all the different types of inequality and cruelty women face both mentally and physically. It also shares details of information about the rights of women and how they can stand up to injustice done to them.🌸 🌸The purpose of this book is not only to talk about women's rights but also to give them a status in a society where they get equal rights as men and work to make people aware of the issue of women's empowerment more and more.🌸
🌸Author have tried to bring to light-sensitive issues like female feticide, rape culture, gender inequality in workplaces, etc. The book covers real-life events from the time of the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown when the entire world was locked inside their house and women were suffering a lot.🌸
🌸According to me, if we want to empower women, then we should create a society where every gender person should get equal rights. Whether the person is a man, a woman or a eunuch. All of them should get equal rights to work for a living and to give life in society as per their wish.🌸
🌸Creating such a society is a difficult task, but it is not impossible, if we all together contribute in this direction, then it is possible.🌸
🌸Overall this is book is quite good, narration of the story and the plotline is great. Recommend this book to everyone reading this post, hoping this will affect you in a good way.🌸

Even when you can't see, it resides. Dormant yet dominant. Suppression of women has always been a major issue in all the classes of society. Sometimes in the most jarring way, sometimes very underplayed. Empower to transform is a nonfiction by Niraja Bandi and Arghya chakraborty bringing forth the curt truth and vivid realities faced by women in their daily lives. It lays out the root causes of inhuman practices like female infanticide, atrocities against women, inequalities faced; by going past into the history. The government schemes and regulatory acts have also been penned down by the author highlighting their role in order to curb this issue. However the repercussions still last. The book strongly exhibits the significance of women, their participation in various fields and how a female representative can handle the same problems yet bring about an impactful transformation. Stating different forms of exploitation, the causes and the consequences, the book also makes us aware of our role to overcome these challenges. Each chapter starts with a beautiful poem, deeply influenced by the grievances faced by women.
Although the author has done a remarkable job in the introspection and research of these underlying real time plights and fixed up with practically approachable solutions, it could have it's own personal touch rather than straight forward facts. Being a female reader each time you read this book, it leaves you feeling more stronger about your femininity and makes you realise you are more than yourself. You have a part of play in the eradication of this mishap.
“Empower to Transform” is an in-depth analysis of gender inequality and some of the concepts that revolve around it. In this book the author tells that women are equally as gifted and if given the chance, they can perform better even than men. this book encourages women to know their rights, be ambitious, and not afraid of seeking opportunities. The purpose of this book is mainly to create awareness of women's empowerment. This book also discuss issues related to race and age gaps in the work environment. “Empower to Transform” is a book written for everyone. It can be used for both educational and informational purposes.
How does gender equality relate to sustainable development? What influence can women have on sustainable development? What are the strategies that can be employed to put a stop to gender inequality and promote women’s empowerment?
I really enjoyed this read. The Authors have done alot of research for the content in this book. They found out the fresh ideas for the topic. After reading this book I was wondering why not the woman didn't get the opportunity in this 21st century? They are educated, they have knowledge and eligible to do the same as the men doing. There are lot of problems a woman who facing in this society include educational empowerment, political empowerment, economic empowerment as well as land tenure empowerment.
The author used lucid and simple language. It help the reader to understand what they actually want to say. And I love the book cover and title. It is very much attractive. The author's writing style is amazing.
Overall a good read. I recommended read mainly for beginners. A well-intended book. Pick it up and read now.
Since our childhood, we have always discussed Women Empowerment, Safety for Women, and Atrocities on Women. Do you think that there is any improvement in it? Do you think that Gender Inequality has vanished? Undoubtedly these problems are faced by men too but the ratio is quite higher in women. Until now Society treats women unfairly. Recently Mumbai High Court said that groping a child if the shirt is on, is not a sexual assault. No matter which gender is it, what do you think is it a right decision from the side of the Court? Many incidents were presented regarding this statement from the side of the court. But such Statements are unacceptable both from a legal point of view as well as the extent of the crime. It will set a dangerous precedent. Under such laws do you think we are safe?
The main purpose of this book is mainly to empower women. It covers many important topics like Female Infanticide, Rape culture, Gender Inequality, unfair treatment of women, etc. Apart from highlighting the problems and stereotypes by the society, it also talks about the Rights for Women and much more. The book even talks about the importance of being patient in life, the power of forgiveness, and gratitude.
Both the authors have very well researched. It is written in an easy language so that it is easily understandable by every age group. There is a poem at the start of every chapter which was another good point of this book. The cover is good and the plot is very well structured.
Women oriented book are always very high in my reading list, hence when I saw the cover and the name of the cover, I knew I had to read it. The cover is beautiful and very powerful.
The preface of the book is not to be missed, the author has very nicely summed up the book there and it felt very motivating and inspiring just reading that.
Of course if the preface was so interesting, the book would be better I expected and I was right. It's a great book for women and men too. It deals on self help too for empowering women and a lot of research has gone into the book as the author has gone way back into history to start with origin of female infanticide, I really hadn't even thought of this earlier. So it got even more interesting from there on as the topics covered in the book were quite new and some of the topics were same but from a different point of view.
Another key note or very relevant issue I felt was women allowing themselves to be victims, intentionally or unintentionally, very real and every woman I think must have faced this in some way or the other.
Why women make great leaders? Very powerful part or the book again.
Overall the book shows us the atrocities women face and how to overcome them and aims gender equality.
I just had a bit of confusion when the author wrote on female infanticide and religion, I didn't agree to some of the points there but everyone has their point of view and everything is debatable I guess
Book: Empower to transform : Transform to empower Author: Niraja Bandi And Arghya Chakraborty Publisher: Notion Press Genre: Self Help Format: Paperback Pages: 140 Rating: 4/5
This is a self help book which encourages women empowerment. First of all, I am really glad that a book on such topic has been authored. It can really help people to change their outlook and join others in empowering women. Various strategies has been included in the book which will ensure fair treatment to all women out there. I feel like rereading the book as it has a lot to offer. The respect with which Authors have described the strengths of women will really make a positive impact on the society. Author has clearly mentioned in the objective part that It is to educate, inform and inspire all women out there that should know their rights, raise their voice and fight for atrocities that have and continued to be committed to them. Language is easy and really motivating. The way authors have written preface held my attention. I was glued to the book till end. Cover page is really beautiful and Title is on of its types. I really liked how authors have given a deep meaning to the title by swapping words in the title. I really wish to read more from the author on such issues.
The pages and binding of book are of fine quality. The texture of pages is really good. The font size and style ease up in speedy reading.
We live in 21st century and yet we are far behind our time. Likewise, women are behind men in every area of life. Since centuries, women are fighting for equal rights and they never stopped. Nonetheless, we never tried to find the reason behind it. This book will take you on a journey that will show us that how we really treat women in the society and especially behind closed doors. The writing focuses on the unfairness that women have faced and are still facing.
This book does not revolve around few vague phenomenon or opinions rather it is based on real statistics. The author has thoroughly researched legal aspect of this whole women empowerment issue. Further, a lot of issues have been described and has gone in details in various chapters, including, major issues of the society- be it rape culture or female infanticide. As a reader, I found a lot of background and valuable information after going through all the chapters.
Well, the author did not let any stone unturned in raising the voice against the atrocities faced by women in the so called modern era that we are living in. The touch of poetry was impressive. Simple language, excellent writing style and extremely well-researched book. Incredible effort from the side of the author, especially in the times of pandemic, when domestic violence has gone up the roof. Incredible work. 10/10 for the effort and the subject choice. I highly recommend this. MUST BUY.
This book mainly focuses on the topic of women empowerment and the cause and effect of the same. This book is very well researched and filled with factual information.
Even in the so-called modern world, there is no relief to some women from the atrocities and the discrimination from the other gender. And we have recently been hearing that since the Covid-19 pandemic the number of domestic violence cases has been increased so much. But the main question that arises from all these is that why do women go through such brutalities? Are women really empowered and are they being treated equally to men?
And the authors have taken this very sensitive topic as the main subject for their book. The effort by the authors in explaining the reasons behind such discrimination and monstrosity is really laudable. The book focuses on many such sensitive topics like rape culture, female infanticide and how different countries and religion treats women and female child, what is the role of men in women empowerment and how to empower women and so on.
The book is full of facts and statistics but I felt it lacked a bit of emotional touch to it. The language and explanation are simple and lucid that anyone can understand. It was a unique and fresh perspective towards understanding women. Overall it was a good book.
Empower To Transform by Niraja Bandi Arghya Chakraborty
Kindle, Pages: 1609
⭐ Rating : 3.5/5
This book is about gender inequality and other concepts related to it. It explores effects and dangers of atrocities on Women. It also covers the matters of equality at home and work, role of men in women empowerment, Rape culture, Female Infanticide, Women in leadership etc. Also topics like diversity and inclusion is covered as it not only affect women but people of different races.
The author's aim is to guide and motivate women to stand against the injustice being done towards them.
Author has used lucid language, anyone can read and understand. The book is full of statistics and facts, i wish though it had more emotional touch to it, so that we as a reader can connect. More stories of women and their sufferings would have made the book flawless. Also it would have been awesome if author has covered trans-women, heterosexual women etc. and covered their life stories and problems.
But if you want to learn statistics and facts, this book is really good for that.
"Empower to Transform" is a good book which talks about women equality and their empowerment. The authors made a detailed analysis on women related issues like female infanticide, domestic violence, etc and talks about female rights.
The author's note, preface and introduction are wonderful written. Those lines made me continue reading the book. I expected same power for the remaining content. But that feel reduced to the rest of the part. It gave same feeling of reading history/civics books. That's why I give this book 3.5 rating.
The efforts made by the writers are very appreciative. In some of the places I saw that 'Men will be Men' or 'Boys will be Boys'. But what I personally feel like Not all Men/Boys are same and also not all Female/Girls are same. Because I have a brother and many male friends, colleagues and they treat us very nicely. So I disagree some of the points in the chapter 'Women in Leadership'. In this book, the main topic is the gender equality and talked like Women are better than Men. But if it talked like both can do equal work then it would be much better. I really really loved the chapter 'The Role of Men in Women Empowerment'.
The overall book is good. If the chapters after Introduction had some more power in writing, then this one is the best book which talks for Women.
🌸 Our eyes always look for beautiful things and the cover of this book is so unique and mesmerising. The cover itself reflects the content of the book ,let the women flutter their wings and fly high where they are free ,where they can be themselves, where they are praised for being a woman ,where their is no hatred ,no abhorrence ,no loathing ,only love. I will not put this book in any specific genre because I think everyone should read this as woman is an integral part of each and every human being’s life. The introduction of the book is very appropriate, it gives you the actual insight about the content . To be very honest it’s not a new topic to be dealt with but what I liked about the book is that the content is precise and is very balanced. The author has divided the content into nine chapters , each chapter starts with heart touching poetry relevant to the chapter. The author has kept the content very crisp and the facts and figures make it authentic. At the end of the book sources of data is also mentioned so that there is no discrepancy. The language of the book is very simple and enlightens the reader. The book is an outcome of hard work and dedication. Read this for a good cause!!!
Empower to transform: transform to empower by Niraja Bandi Book Review:- The title itself connotes an urge to revive those with indomitable spirits and the same would be considered as inclusive if we include women in the same and the same is the central theme of the topic. The author has verily made poignant observations regarding the empowerment of females in our society and whether the much talked and debated right has materialized in the present times and the varying answers pertaining to the failure of not being able to live in an empowering society is nicely answered and discussed and icing on the cake is done by making the events contemporaneous as there have been instances where the author has showcased logical correlation between the Covid-19 Pandemic and rising cases of Domestic Violence. The author has used pure logic and has brought forth the concept and plague of gender inequality in a very perceivable way and not relying solely on problems the author has also made poignant observations regarding the desired solutions which would bring forth equilibrium status in the society and thus all in all this book is a must read for everyone In Association with Kharidobecho.in (@KharidobechoBooks) Check @KharidobechoBooks for affordable Book Deals Connect with the author @bandiniraja Pros- Poignant, logical, rationalistic viewpoint Cons-None .
