I am a person who believes in coincidence. Here and there. Sometimes. I am not a person who believes in coincidences around every corner and with every relative. No, I am not. I did finish this book. I did some scan-reading. I wanted to see how it ended but I did not enjoy it as much as I could have if it would have been more believable or credible. There were just so many convenient things, so many coincidences, that it just defied logic.

This book has some potential, but as it stands I didn't like it too much. I could say it was a page turner but not because of the typical reasoning. I turned the pages quickly because I felt an obligation to it once I was over half finished but I turned quickly in order to just get it over with! Too predictable, forced and not at all realistic.

3.5 stars - an action filled book but got a little lost towards the end in details trying to catch the bad guy. One of the characters said it right when he asked Maggie why she could figure everything out when all the professionals couldn't - yes, she had some intuition and inspiration and high motivation but the terrorism threat conclusion was a little confusing. A good read!

Loved this book! More along the lines of her other series that I loved! Interesting along the lines of psychotic mental illness. Not as intense as the first one in the series. The first one is necessary to read in order to understand the second though. But Lynn is a skilled writer and she draws you in and carries you along on an amazing adventure full on romance, mystery, intrigue and excitement!

Edge of your seat mystery

The author was local where I previously lived and was suggested to me by a friend. Her mystery novels are very easy to read and hold your attention to the end.

Pursued: A Maggie McKenzie Mystery by Lynn Gardner

After 6 drafts, this book saw the light of day in magnificent splendor. Lynn takes Maggie off to an assignment in England to take pictures of classic English cathedrals, gothic mansions right out of her gothic romances she used to read, to show tourists how to see England on $100 a day. She is also given an envelope with info on her two brothers she'd thought had died at birth, so she goes in search of them in the villages, never intending to stir up a hornet's nest. While at LAX, she is nearly knocked down by a mysterious man who follows her to England, where she comes across an innocent-looking flash drive in her bag. With the help of Flynn, her twin sister Allyssa, their new friend Rolf, their brother Damon and the newly found grandparents that live in the centuries old huge Gothic mansion Dragonwyck, they get the terrorists who were planning on destroying famous English landmarks and others around the world. This is a must-read for anyone who loves gothic romances or scenic historical England.

maggie mckenzie found her identical twin sister with the help of Dr. Flynn ford in the last book entitiled Vanished. In this book she is on an reporting assignment to England for a touring magazine article, but she is also looking for her biological mother's "assumed dead" first born son. What she finds is not one brother but two and a plot by terrorist to blow up well known landmarks in many cities across the world. She then finds out the Flynn although he has promised to give her space to find out if she has anyother love interests, but really so he can investigate the gospel and find out if she is the one for him comes to her rescue when he learns of the terrorist's plans to blow up cities that maggie is going to be near. They work together with Rolf a native, walshan who helps them navigate around england and saves maggie from a would be killer. He finds an attraction to maggie but when she informs him of Flynn he turns toward Allyssa, her twin. The twins discover their older brothers and their grandparents own Dragonwyck, a mansion the first born Rathford son would inherite if they are deemed worthy. The oldest Llwellyn, who is aka richard Constantine is supposed to inherite, but he has a tendancy toward evil and when disinherited turns toward terrorism to rein.

This was definitely not a page-turner like the 1st book was. Sometimes it felt like anytime the author couldn't come up with an explanation for how Maggie got her info, she just said it was the Holy Ghost inspiring her. She never took a wrong turn or left out a fact, it was a little too perfect. Also, I thought it ended kind of weird and there was no surprise- everyone who Maggie suspected was bad throughout the book turned out to be and the good guys stayed the good guys. I do like that Maggie and Flynn finally got together and I like how Maggie is always so intent on following a mystery that she doesn't really listen to other people. It was a fun book but not the best mystery I have ever read

Pursued is the sequel to Vanished and it was just an OK read for me. I think it was the last couple of chapters that I disliked the most. I don't know, I just feel like everything was wrapped up too quickly there at the end. The whole story sets you up for a suspenseful ending that never really comes. At least it didn't for me. There were also several things towards the end that I found odd. Of course their nit picky so I won't go into detail. However I really want to site this one line I found in the last chapter that seemed somewhat farcical, but I won't so as not to spoil anything.

I would probably give this book 3 1/2 stars. It wasn't as good as the first book in the series, "Vanished," but it was still exciting. Maggie, the main character, seems to lead a charmed life. No matter what dangerous things she does, she never gets hurt--and, sometimes, that's pretty unbelievable. I got kind of tired of the travelogs and just wanted to get on with the story, but a lot of people would really enjoy them.

This was an easy, fast moving book to read. It was full of mystery and excitement and takes place on Maggie McKenzie's business trip to England. She finds out that she has two brothers living there that she didn't know existed, so hunts for them. She stumbled on to a terrorist plot to destroy several large cities in the world, including London.

This was an interesting read about a small town reporter who is working to discover who her birth family is and also happens to try to bring down a terrorist organization. It was pretty far fetched for me and I felt like it was a little long. The author could have written the book in a lot less pages, but it was a good read. Just not my usual stuff.

I've read all of Lynn Gardner's books and love her gem series so I was really excited about the McKenzie Mysteries. I liked the first one and waited along time for her to write her next book. Maybe it was because of my anticipation for this book I may have had really high expectations but this one just wasn't my fav. Still a fun read and if she writes another I would gladly read it too.

The author feels out of her depth in this suspenseful novel. Thrilling stories about terrorists should feel close to reality to get the best response from the reader. Too many parts that should have seemed real felt fabricated.

It was still a decently creative and intricate story. I might give Lynn Gardner another chance.

It's been a while since I read the first one, but it all came back pretty quick. I enjoyed all the plot twists and the settings. I was a little disapointed in the climax, it was over too quickly I thought.

If I could give this 3 1/2 stars I would. It was pretty good. There were some tense scenes, but I was able to figure out the plot/who-done-it a little too early for my liking. I like a book that keeps me guessing. However, it was well written and the characters were likeable and realistic.

Finally found time to sit and read. This is one of my favorite authors. The story was interesting and the mystery kept you guessing until the latter half of the book. I very much enjoyed this and would love to go to England and Wales now!

This is the second Maggie Mackenzie mystery. Terrorists threaten the world and Alyssa and Maggie get caught up in the investigation because of two brothers they've just found out about. This story takes you to places outside of London. When it ended, I wanted it to keep going.

This is light reading LDS fiction. It is one of Lynn's better books. Not that the others are bad, just that this one is better.

Sequel to Vanished. The start not as exciting as tge first book. Gardner spent time catching you up on if you hadn't read Vanished but it did pick up soon with the same twists and turns.
