This volume ends bette than its starts but the God Rules that forced all to forget about Rio make a mess of the narrative flow and character motivations. You just can't have system wide amnesia and have the story not suffer. It was time to nerf Rio, but the story suffered and the great supporting cast seem irrelevant or so different from those I enjoyed the first 19 volumes.
The author did't disappoint. This volume builds in the previous one, developing and enhancing the new plot introduced in this new arc. Once again, great character development, and is nice to see how the spotlight was centered in Claire in this volume. If there is a conplain, it would be that the volumes take too long to be published.
The series kind of jumped the shark with the whole dragon king / memory loss situation, so I was considering dropping the series. But while not a lot happened, the ending left me wanting more.
