If that man calls her one more time… So what if Gabe Campos is a model-dating billionaire who gets Keisha Jacobs hotter than a Ferrari’s engine on the straightaway? He keeps pushing her to sell her family’s furniture business, but she’ll never give in—not unless she wants to give her father a second heart attack.

All Gabe should be thinking about is how he’ll finally get revenge on the man who killed his father. But when he meets the man’s daughter, Keisha, instead of focusing on destroying Jacobs Fine Furnishings, he can’t get her warm-whisky voice out of his mind.

Forced by a snow storm to spend the night together, their passion ignites. The next day, however, it’s back to business. The only way Keisha can save her family is to win a bet with the billionaire. But neither realized their hearts are part of the bargain…

Betting the Billionaire is a vanilla romance. Suitable for relaxing or in between serious books. To cleanse the palate sort of book. Miss Flynn, done the correct ingredients for short, sweet, vanilla romance. The drama is minimum and the conversation between the characters are direct. The attraction is also inta.

I do like the story since I was looking for something light before reading something more serious. And due to my hectic day at work, Betting the Billionaire is certainly hits the spot.

Overall, an OK book.

The only reason I listened to this book and was able to get through it was because Wesleigh narrated. This was a boring story...the premise of it was good, but truthfully, it was just plain boring.

4.5 🌟.. its good. Simple and compact. Novellas are a tricky affair so she pretty much naolednit with right quantities of romance and drama. Gabe comes out tops and Keisha is ok. Overall a quick, pleasant read.

Betting the Billionaire by Avery Flynn is an Entangled: Indulgence publication scheduled for a late April 2014 release. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Keisha Jacobs is working at her father's furniture business until she hears back about an interior decorating job she is bursting with excitement about. Her cousin has nearly completed his training and will be taking over for Keisha soon. In the meantime, Keisha is having to do battle with a Billioniare, named Gabe, that has for some reason become obsessed with buying her father's company, a company her father has sworn will never be owned or operated by anyone that doesn't bear the Jacob name. When Keisha finally comes face to face with Gabe, the two have a spectacular time, until Keisha finds out what the true motives are behind Gabe's quest for Jacobs Furniture.
Gabe recently discovered who his real father was and is now consumed with rage over the way his father died. He blames Keisha's father for the accident and now wants to be sure to crush old man Jacobs by taking away his family business.
Is Gabe correct about Keisha's father? Did he cause the car crash that killed Gabe's father? A bet is set up to determine the future of Jacob's furniture. Keisha must rise to the occasion and save the business her father so desperately wants to keep in the family and it just might mean giving up her dream job to do it.
This is a very short, sexy novella that examines family loyalty and reminds us to get our facts straight before we go off trying to damage other people. The chemistry between Gabe and Keisha is hot. The two clash over the business and Keisha gave give as good as she gets. She does not let the famous billionaire intimidate her, but she itimidates him plenty. This would make pleasant lunch time or break time read. A light, fun, sexy read. Overall this one is a B+ (3.5 stars rounded to 4)

3.5 Star Review Betting The Billionaire by Avery Flynn

Audio:
Narrator Wesleigh Siobhan is a new to me and I found her voice easy to listen to. This book was a quick listen and it felt rushed and that did not do justice to the story. It could have been so much more if it had been longer, but then that is only my opinion.

This is Gabe Campos and Keisha Jacobs story, and it was complicated. Gabe is set on revenging the death of his father and by purchasing Keisha’s Jacobs Fine Furnishings family business he will succeed.

When fate throws them together sparks ignite. The story was entertaining but I felt that the depth was missing at times and could have been more.

Liked, not loved.

I enjoyed the premise and the story could have been super hot, but it was rushed. It was like the last half the writer got in a hurry to finish and skipped a bunch of potentially explosive scenes.

Betting the Billionaire

It's review time 🎧
Warning ⚠️: a persistent men, an independent woman, dreams, short story.

Narrator score🎧 ; the narrator was good, she didn't try to change to male voices but I respect it. Better reading the book as is and not to try and fake it
too much

Level of steam🔥: for not to long book, this is actually really hot. They had the sex in the book, but I did like it wasn't too much.

Level of anxiety and sadness0😱😢: well, it wasn't sad not at all, the story was funny even. You had some cute moments little drama and it was sweet.

The book itself📖: I think I'm falling on sweet books too much lately and I know I did like the book but I need a diet from all that cheese... the story was very nice and short and cute

I'll skip the normal play-by-play I give of the books I review since the novella's synopsis sums things right up.

Avery Flynn does a fantastic job drawing readers into her novella, Betting the Billionaire. From the very first page readers will be enchanted by Keisha Jacobs. She's an interior designer who helps run her family's furniture business, and she works on her own classic car. She's a normal, everyday kind of girl that has dreams of leaving her town, and the furniture business, behind to build up her interior design business. That day comes soon enough, but at the peak of her job hunt, the person that is supposed to take over controls of Jacobs Fine Furnishings puts a monkey wrench in her plans ~ as does the insufferable billionaire, Gabe Campos.

Gabe is a self made billionaire with an agenda. Blinded by the need for revenge, Gabe harasses the Jacobs family incessantly, trying to convince them to sell the business to him by any means possible. He pulls no punches as he pays off business after business to terminate contracts with the Jacobs' in hopes to run them into the ground. On a dark and stormy night (I know, so cliche of me - which, for the record, the book is anything but) Gabe finds himself in need of help after his car gets stranded ~ and ends up in the apartment of his #1 enemy's daughter. The sparks and chemistry are undeniable - The attraction strong and believable - The need builds up like a freshly shaken unopened can of pop (I'm from Michigan - we call it pop).

By the time Gabe clears his head and he realizes that there's a problem....there may not be enough time to correct anything and his world, Keisha's world, and the world around them may just be ripped apart.

Avery has some mad skills. Writing a novel has to be some serious hard work (I wouldn't know first hand) but to take a subject and shrink it down into a nice, short, novella takes major talent. Some novellas just don't pass muster and the content is rushed, lacking in development, or just plain nonsensical ~ Not this novella. Betting the Billionaire gives enough background information about the characters involved to keep the reader in the know. All of the characters are well developed and likable. The novella is full of romance, sex, and misunderstandings. Once you start reading Betting the Billionaire you won't put it down until you're done.

Billionaire playboy Gabe Campos has a personal grudge against a small-town interior design company managed by Keisha Jacobs, the daughter of Dell, the disabled owner. Knowing how much the company means to him, she refuses to sell.

In the middle of a snowstorm Gabe’s Aston Martin runs out of gas and he squishes through the freezing slush to a car repair shop which, surprise, surprise, happens to be Keisha’s home. Recognition turns to loathing turns to attraction. We have all the makings of a standard isolated-cabin sex romp, but a telephone call intervenes.

The next few pages of this charming novella explore the reasons for Gabe’s grudge and Keisha’s dilemma—accept an attractive out-of-town job offer or stay and keep her dad’s company afloat.

In a three-way confrontation between Gabe, Keisha and Dell, Gabe confirms his determination to destroy Dell’s company. No one wants to back down so Dell proposes to bet his company’s future on a carpentry contest between Gabe and Keisha (not as ludicrous as it sounds).

At which point Ms Flynn reveals more about Gabe’s grudge and introduces an unexpected twist. The story has come a long way from the erotic promise of the snowstorm encounter, but the anticipated fireworks do eventually light up the sky and we’re left with a satisfactory resolution.

Crisp prose, a light sprinkling of chick-lit humour, and a happy ending. Thoroughly recommended with just a few tiny reservations, all of them of the your-mileage-may-vary variety.

The first encounter with wrench-wielding Keisha and her cake-carrying friend reminded me of Julia Roberts in The Runaway Bride. A coincidence, perhaps, but also a distraction.

Automobiles and woodwork contribute much to the humour and detail, but might be lost on those unfamiliar with the finer points of either.

Finally, a brief mention of one-and-a-half plot holes (YMMV). The bet plays such a major role in the story that even a few preparatory paragraphs explaining the speed with which Gabe and Dell propose and accept the bet would have helped. Maybe I missed it, but the resolution of the bet isn’t fully explained.

All these are no more than quibbles. Ms Flynn writes fine, racy, romantic erotica, and her latest offering is a tasty treat.

This is a quick read that would be perfect for a cold day that you can get yourself lost in for a couple of hours to warm yourself up. I’m not completely happy with the book considering some the amazing books I have read from Entangled recently. There lack of details here , the story is focusing mainly on the present and only relevant parts of the past. I would love to find out more about certain things.
The plot is something new and has nice little twist surrounding it . The hero all he wants is revenge and the need for it is oozing from him. Gabe not a bad guy, he got a sense of justice that is warped by the facts he believes in but he has no proof to back with. He got a bee in his bonnet about the past and nothing he learns will change his mind until he hears the words out his father’s killer mouth.

Keisha wants to survive and move on to better things. She is a strong independent woman who wants to make her family business survive and escape the wrath of Gabe. She wants to make her own mark on the world but it is hard when you have a guy coming after your family business with only one thing on this mind, revenge. It is derailing her plans to the point where she got her own thoughts what she like to do this guy.

This is a speed up version of the enemies to lovers story. It on steroids as the whole romance takes in a very short period of time and whilst tries to make it seem more realistic, I couldn’t connect to the characters as much I would of liked to because it doesn’t give us a big enough picture of their world.

I hope this isn’t her last interracial book for Entangled as it refreshing to see them expand their horizons and the author try her hand at a new genre. I give this book 3.5 stars for it’s story more than the writing. There nothing majorly wrong with the writing. I would love it and give a higher rating if there was more details added to the story to make it more complete.

Can I just say I love novellas? Because sometimes you're just in the mood for a good book you can read in a day and that makes you feel good. The best novellas can deliver a complete story with wonderful characters who you see grow from the beginning of the book to the end. Betting the Billionaire had all of that and more. Now I have to confess...I went into reading BTB a little biased because I adore Avery Flynn's voice from "High Heeled Wonder". She's just funny! And I was not disappointed in her contemporary romance. No matter the genre--romantic suspense or contemporary--she serves up sassy, funny dialogue with the most engaging, original characters.

Betting the Billionaire opened with Keisha Jacobs giving billionaire Gabe Campos the metaphorical finger about buying her family's business. For months she's told the businessman what he can do with his offers, but he's not listening. And when he comes to town unexpectedly and they end up stranded together for a night during a snow storm, the sparks--verbal and sensual--fly! And this is all in the beginning of the book! I'm not going to give away any spoilers, but there's a reason Gabe wants to buy Keisha's family's business so badly, and that reason may come between them, destroying those sparks before they can fully explode into a passionate love. And boy, is there passion. For most of the book Gabe and Keisha had this amazing sexual chemistry and tension. And when they finally came together? Explosion. It was hot, sexy and so worth the wait!

I couldn't decide who I enjoyed more--Keshia or Gabe. With her snark and snap, Keshia was an absolute joy to read. And Gabe. Wow, until reading BTB, Henry Cavill's Clark Kent was the sexiest man in glasses. Yeah, he has competition in Gabe. LOL! The novella was romantic, funny, heart-warming, sensual and just plain fun! A truly enjoyable read. She had me at "lava cake", y'all!

I gladly received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Betting the Billionaire was a quick and cute erotic read with good characters and juicy sex scenes.

The story drew me in right away as I could relate to Keisha Jacobs who had put her own dreams on hold as she was driven by a strong feeling of responsibility to her father to keep the furniture business he had poured his life into afloat. She thought she would finally be free to pursue her own aspiration of being an interior designer when her cousin took over running the business. That dream morphed into a nightmare when her cousin bolted. As she faced the growing piles of bills, the billionaire playboy, Gabe Campos, called again. He just wouldn't take no to his offers to buy their family business, Jacobs Fine Furnishings. Truth be told, though, she looked forward to his calls.

Gabe wasn't giving up. He blamed Keisha's father for his father's death and just retribution would be his when he took down Jacob's lifework and put his employees in the unemployment line. Frustrated by Keisha's last refusal to sell, Gabe decided to confront her in person. However, he hadn't counted on a freak blizzard and an ornery car. Fate can be a potent force :-)))

Keisha was sultry, intelligent, talented and blessed with a good heart. Gabe was a stubborn turd at first; he was so contemptible, I was frustrated at Keisha for giving Gabe shelter from the storm. However, Keisha was awesome. She was able to expose his vulnerability with tenderness and good humor and completely turned the table on him. I loved their scenes together and I really savored the glow as his quest for revenge became his undoing.

This was a well-written story. The sex is incredibly HOT. I also was treated to learning a bit about the furniture business. I love books that educate me without my knowledge.

I would recommend Betting the Billionaire to anyone who enjoys a good STEAMY romance. I still can't believe how different I now feel about Gabe. Don't give up on him if you feel vexed with him at the beginning.

4 Stars!

Well who would have thought that the furniture making industry could be the setting for such a sexy romance? Not me that’s for sure!

I really enjoyed Avery Flynn’s Betting the Billionaire. It was a quick, fun read that didn’t skip out on the sexy goodness between the characters. There was a lot of sexual tension between Gabe and Keisha as well as some great snarky moments.

Keisha was car savvy, Gabe, not so much, he was totally useless when it came to cars but that didn’t dim his masculine vibe one bit. In fact, it gave this otherwise flawless man a vulnerable side, a weakness that made him more likable. Plus, the role reversal helped define who they were and the differences in their upbringings. Whereas Gabe had almost everything handed to him, Keisha has had to work hard to get where she is and given that she is her father’s only child, she has had to be both daughter and son which meant working with her hands. Alot.

I did have to wonder though, how someone like Gabe, that is supposed to be so smart as to become a self made millionaire could be so stupid as to jump to conclusions when all he had was a handful of facts. I guess his arrogance got the best of him. Still, Gabe isn’t so arrogant to where he can’t admit he made a mistake.

The chemistry between the two characters was super sexy and I enjoyed that Gabe and Keisha had a strong attraction going way before they even met in person. Keisha may have known what Gabe looked like but Gabe had no idea what Keisha looked like. When they finally do meet, the sexual tension goes through the roof.

I enjoyed the plot, the characters, really I can't find any reason to complain about Betting the Billionaire!

Final Verdict: A romance in the furniture industry may not sound like much but Avery Flynn made it seem like every story should take place among wood and handmade pieces of art.

This was a quick, fun read that had a bit of humor, a bit of steam, a bit of a mystery, and a whole lot of sexy alpha billionaire male! Keisha and Gabe were both great characters. I love a strong heroine who stands up for what she believes in and can give as good as she gets, and Keisha was all that and more. Watching her put her dreams on hold to help her father to keep the family business running had me loving her all the more and hoping even harder that she would get the chance to live her dreams. Speaking of dreams, Gabe was a great alpha male – so totally self-assured and confident, cocky just to the point of being overbearing, and, of course being a sexy as all get-out billionaire didn’t hurt either! But what I mostly loved about Gabe was that underneath it all he was real and fair, and most importantly, kind – from his woodworking “hobby”, to his ability to admit he was wrong and quickly try to remedy the situation. It wasn’t always easy to see past that dominant businessman persona to the real sweetheart underneath, but when I did, it definitely made me feel all squishy inside.

I just love Avery Flynn’s writing - and leave it to her to add in some sort of quirky humor – in this case a set of five Good Time Smexy Elves…you’ll have to read the story to find out more! Since this was a novella, there wasn’t the time for a lot of character development or for in-depth back story, but I don’t feel it hurt the story in any way and I was actually amazed at just how well I understood the characters and their motivations. Another thing I love about Avery Flynn’s writing is that she leaves you in such a good place at the end of her books – you know there is more to the story, but you feel satisfied with the place she left you and are happy to let the characters write the rest of their story.

Now, off to find my own set of Smexy Elves…

This is a fun short story full of humor, a romp in a barn and a sexy billionaire. I have read several books by Ms. Flynn and have enjoyed them all.

Keisha Jacobs is trying to move on with her life, it is unfortunate that her family has issues that seem to keep her in this small town. Her family owns Jacob’s Fine Furniture, started by her father Dell years ago, a business that he wants passed down to others in his family. Her father recently suffered a stroke and she does not want to upset him too much but with Gabe Campos calling her constantly to get them to sell and her cousin Tyrell not willing to take over the business she is at her wits end.

Cabe Campos has been trying for months to get the Jacobs’ to sell, he is out for revenge for the wrong he believes Dell did to his real father. But when he can’t get anywhere on the phone he decides to travel to their small town to talk to Keisha face to face, but with a sudden snow storm and an empty gas tank he almost does not get to his destination, fortunately he spies a car garage and is very surprised when he finds out who lives there. Gabe and Keisha work through not only his feelings of betrayal but their attraction for each other and they realize that things are not always what they seem.

This is a very well done short story, I like how the romance does not feel rushed as some short stories do, Gabe and Keisha have had a phone conversation going on for months, and he is half infatuated with her before they even meet.

I love the first book I read from the author (High-heeled warrior). So when ask to review her new book, I squeal with delight. Let's just say her book do not disappoint ;5 stars review with thumbs up approval.
The story start with an offer from the hero, a billionaire playboy Gabe tried to buy out the heroine Keisha her family-based furniture store. For a rich guy gunning for a small town enterprise, do attract unwanted questions, but their phone-talk barter lead a suppress lust on both ends. First meeting under snow storm and blackout, light up their passionate encounter but Gabe have a hidden agenda. Avenging his unknown deceased father seems a good idea, however attraction towards his enemy's daughter bring unwanted roadblock. Will he chose revenge or discover his own happiness with Keisha.
My review: for a very successful businessman, he really need to do his own research before striking headfirst into an unknown past. I do love his character. The first scene meeting with Keisha is so hilarious. As for Keisha, I really felt for her. She did her best to be the responsible daughter that she neglected her needs. The main characters interaction were very good as well as the basic plot, just a twirking here and there to keep it interesting. I did lose a bit, during the so called competition but there is potential. I loved the mains as the 2nd so no harm done. Good luck for the next one.

Betting The Billionaire is one of the first multicultural offerings that this reviewer has encountered within the Indulgence imprint. I must also add that I am impressed.
Kiesha is a strong and opinionated character, unafraid to speak her mind. Her Achilles' heel?
Her need to do and be for everyone but herself.

As it turns out...her male counterpart in this scenario has a bit of the same savior complex.

He also, as it turns out has a yen for revenge. In his cross hairs...Kiesha's father.

This book takes the romance a little slower. It has to with all of the touch and go family drama that these two have going on. The fun here is finding out whether these two can get past all of the hurt and misunderstanding that has been generated outside of their romantic bubble; to get to the passion that is lighting the very strong spark between them.

This is a story that could have been longer. The emotional punch of the ending is dampened somewhat by the need to get all of the loose ends within the spa of 100+ pages.
That being said...
This is a very poignant romance. The real star of this story being the love of family, and the lengths that one can be driven to because of said love.

I haven't read anything from Avery Flynn and am so glad to discover this author who is new to me!

Betting the Billionaire was a nice and fun contemporary romance that immediately hooked my interest from the very first page. I'm not going into a summary of the story because the blurb already does that & with the book being so short I don't want to give away any spoilers.

Gabe and Keisha were nice and lively characters. They had a good connection with sparks and although their story was short, the author convinced me that they belonged together. The story also had nice dialogue, good character development and a fun plot.

Furthermore, Betting the Billionaire was fast paced with humor thrown in which I loved. The overall feel and tone of this story was very light and sweet. However, do know that once Keisha and Gabe hit the sheets it did get rather sexy and heated ;)

In the end, this novella took me about an hour to read and it was a good hour spent. I enjoyed this little treat and now I'm off to hunt down Avery's backlist titles!

Betting the Billionaire is an sexy short read sure to make your insides turn to mush. Avery Flynn does a decadent romance like no one else can.

Gabe is a all around sexy self-made billionaire with way too much testosterone at times. What can I say I enjoyed that as much as his quirky side. Losing a father can never be easy for a child, but seeking revenge is not the easiest thing either. Can Gabe find what he is after, to finally have the peace he seeks?

Keisha is as stubborn as she is loving. I could not help not bonding with her and her nature to do for her family, she drew me in. Doing what is expected of her is never easy when she has dreams of her own. Will Keisha stay or go, the answer is written in the sawdust.

Gabe and Keisha are like oil and water, but can they disclose the chemistry they create with one kiss? It was fun to watch these two duels, you can practically see the steam building of the pages. Even though their story is short Ms. Flynn did an amazing job creating such strong leads. I hope to see them in future books. {hint}

BETTING THE BILLIONAIRE by Avery Flynn was such a fun, sexy little read! Gabe and Keisha start off as enemies fighting for family honor, but can't seem to ignore an attraction so off the charts it comes through across the phone lines. They both get all prickly and try to deny it to themselves and to their friends, but an accidental meeting catches them both off guard and makes them face facts. They are hot for each other and it doesn't really matter who their family is or what their best intentions were. They've had six months of foreplay bantering over the phone and it's time to get down to business, the business of stripping each other down that is.

Gabe, Keisha, Dell (Keisha's dad), and their friends are all very likable characters. The enemies to lovers plot was fun and told at just the perfect pace to keep my full attention. The dialogue was witty, keeping me either shaking my head or laughing out loud. Overall Betting the Billionaire was a great little romance with a sweet HEA ending! 3.5 stars.

Betting the Billionnaire was a thoroughly enjoyable read, with endearing characters and an enemies to lovers storyline which is never a bad thing; can't beat a bit of sexual tension and build-up to the main event.

As much as I liked it, and I really did (I ignored the housework as I couldn't put it down), what I call the curse of the novella struck; just as I had become completely invested in Gabe and Keisha (particularly Gabe, the man was delectable), the end abrubtly arrived leaving me with an "Oh...is that it?" feeling. I wanted to know how things really turned out for them because they were so great together.

I certainly wouldn't not recommend reading; it's written well, flows well, is captivating and if you want a light quick romance with characters who have some fight in them, great chemistry and sexual tension, then it doesn't scrimp. I just finished it wishing for that little bit more.

Reading one of Avery Flynn's books is like watching a movie. Her writing style brings the characters to life and holds your attention until the story concludes.

BETTING THE BILLIONAIRE is a non stop read!

Right from the start , Gabe Campos the "get anything he wants" irresistibly handsome billionaire is relentlessly pursuing the purchase and takeover of a family owned business, Jacob's Fine Furnishing.

Keisha Jacobs, the stunning sultry daughter who is watching over the family business since her father's stroke, and a real "wiz" at working on cars, as well, will have none of Gabe's persistence ! However, that doesn't stop an undeniable underlying sexual energy that seems to be brewing between Keisha and Gabe !!

So what happens next? Well the best is yet to come, and I'm no spoiler! Twists and turns will take place, and you'll go on an unforgettable journey that will run your emotions wild, and stimulate your senses from head to toe !!!

Betting the Billionaire is a 5-Star winner, Avery…. Congratulations!

Gabe has a grudge against Keisha's father, and Keisha's is holding down the fort at her father's furniture making business because of her father's illness that she feels guilty about. They've been negotiating Gabe's purchase of the business for the last six months, or more to the point, Gabe has been calling two or three times a week wanting to buy out the business, but Keisha and her dad are not interested.

Gabe finally makes the trek to town trying to convince them to sell, but he does so in a freak snow storm. Gabe and curvy Keisha meet, and the fun - and it is fun - begins. Gabe is attracted to Keisha and vice versa, and Avery Flynn heats up the pages (and us) with their passion. However, there is a problem that has to be worked out before they can get serious about each other, and this (and their passion) is what the storyline is about.

I enjoyed this novella because of its humor and hotness, and I'd recommend it to any reader who enjoys the characters having both fun and sex together.

I'm giving this book a 3-star and a very very short review. I'm not entirely sure why I didn't particularly care for this book, but I think I just never connected with the characters.

Part of it was definitely Gabe. I really didn't care for his condemnatory attitude and jump-to-conclusions way of thinking. He seriously should have taken more time rather than throwing everything he had into ruining someone's business. I think Keisha's a bit of a fool for moving beyond that as quickly as she did.

However, my reservations notwithstanding, I didn't hate the book or swear off never reading another one by Ms. Flynn (there are authors I can think of that I've done that with). It's a decent, short read, and smooth flowing on the writing style.

So, I admit this is a purely subjective POV and is probably not in agreement with others' views. Reviews can be very subjective and in this case, the book just didn't click and provide me with an enjoyable experience, just an okay one. It happens.

When Gabe Campos tries to take over Jcobs Furniture he gets into a lot more than he can handle. Keisha is not going to let her father's company go without a fight, and she just doesn't understand why Gabe would want it so much. Keisha is quite a girl - she builds furniture, is a car fanatic, and love to interior design. I love it when a character has such a diverse group of interests.

Gabe has a purpose and he isn't the type to deviate once he sets his mind on something. But Keisha is more of an obstacle than he could have imagined, and he doesn't really mind having her in the way either. But Gabe will have to face the demons of his past - and he doesn't seem to want to confront them at all.

This was an new twist on things for me. I really like how the story built on itself. Every little sentence worked towards the HEA.

Betting the Billionaire is a cute read.

Kiesha just wants a life of her own away from her fathers family wood-shop to make her own way as an interior designer. However, sacrificing what she wants has always been her thing especially when it's her family involved. Getting calls from Gabe Campos multiple times a week with him trying to buy her families place from her is so not going to happen on her watch, no matter how sexy he sounds over the phone.

Gabe has been wanting to meet Kiesha since he first heard her voice over the phone. Trekking to the town in a snow storm after his car breaks down he winds up at Fix Er Up where he meets Kiesha and sparks start flying.

When reality comes crashing down on them the next day and they set out on a challenge to whoever makes the best furniture can have the shop it's game on.

Kiesha and Gabe are really cute just like this story. I wasn't in love with it because it seemed too rushed but definitely a cute story to read before bed.

Betting the Billionaire was a quick enjoyable read. I loved the fact that this was an interracial romance. Gabe Campos and Keisha Jacobs are great characters and not at all what you’d expect.

When Gabe finds out about his biological father’s death, he blames Keisha’s father. He make it his mission to bring the man and his business to their knees. Gabe just isn’t prepared to fall for Keisha with just her phone voice. Gabe decides to pay Keisha a face to face visit, only to run out of gas during the middle of a snowstorm. Unknowingly, Gabe takes shelter with the daughter of his enemy.

Sparks fly and things are not what they seem. Sometimes a calculated bet gives you everything you have ever wanted. You just have to be willing to let go of your pride, misguided grief, and go for what you really and truly want.

Hot billionaire, check. Sassy heroine, check. Throw both together in a snow storm and what do you get ? A fun, hot, fantastic read from the awesome Avery Flynn.

Add in a potential hostile takeover, a dream job offer, a challenge, a life change realisation and you have a novella that will hook you from the first page and have you reading till you are done.

The sparks fly between Keisha and Gabe but so does the snark. That line between love and hate is fine indeed.

" Something about sparring with Gabe got her motor purring. It must be the novelty of telling someone no. That had to be it"

This novella ties loosely to High Heeled Wonder but if you read this story and like it, dive on the HHW, you will not be sorry. Avery Flynn is a favourite of mine and I'm sure will be yours too soon.

Posted on What I'm Reading

You know how sometimes a novella has you aching for more and other times it was nice quick read. Well, Betting the Billionaire is the latter. Don't get me wrong it wasn't a bad read and the writing was good. However, I just didn't connect with the characters. I happen to enjoy a revenge plot. However, I just didn't feel like there was enough bitterness for a revenge plot. A lot of the story stems from not knowing all the facts. I like Keisha and loyalty to her family. Gabe, well he just didn't really do anything for me. Overall, Betting the Billionaire wasn't a bad read, just didn't grab me.
