I was looking forward to a sweet, easy romance read and Date Night delivered on this. Date night is a typical romance novel. However, there were no twists or turns in the plot to keep me interested and I soon became bored, waiting for something more.
The leading lady has been hurt by love, so Valentine's day is not a joyous day for her. This is until a sexy, rich man comes in to sweep her off her feet and change her views on love.
The first sex scene was pedestrian, predictable and the overuse of clichè lines was quite disappointing. This scene on the whole made me cringe. The act itself actually only lasts four sentences. A bit wham, bam to be honest!
There is nothing drastically wrong with this story, the characters are likeable and the plot, although predictable, flows well. I just felt it followed a romance template with little imagination or deviation from the norm. Nothing makes this book stand out from the crowd of other romance novels.
📖 Mr Randall might be able to tend to your lady garden just fine. 🤭 _ I can’t imagine life without you. In fact, I don’t even want to go back to a life without you in it. I love you, Hannah.
Date night by KM Lowe is the first book that i have read by this author and im not disappointed. Date night is sweet short romance read. I really liked reading about Kyle and Hannah they were fun and entertaining to read about. Hannah is someone you could see your self being best friends with and Kyle seems like the man most ladies dream about. Once i started reading this book I could not stop. I would love to read more about Kyle and Hannah but I would also like to read more about Hannahs best friend and business partner Jesse and his life partner Peter!!!! I look forward to read more books by KM Lowe. Thank you KM Lowe for this wonderful romance read.
Being a huge romantic I love books like this. The characters each have their reasons to dislike Valentine’s Day, yet they are thrown together and have no choice but to work together to plan something which goes against what their hearts want.
Well written, great characters. I recommend this to anyone who loves a story they can escape into for a few hours.
I devoured this book in just a couple of hours as I enjoyed it so much. I absolutely adored the characters and great to see it set in Glasgow, which I know so well! Such a fun read.
Hannah has been dealing with Kyle's company for years but they have never met due to his globe-trotting. But when they do finally meet the sparks fly. But Hannah is nursing a broken heart and shattered self-esteem. Kyle is going to have a job to tempt her to leave their professional relationship aside and take a leap into love!
Kyle himself has a few relationship demons. Golddiggers, ambitious underlings, and a failed relationship can jade a man. However, Hannah makes him feel alive again and he'll do what he can to make her his. Even if that means every time they're together is a different date night and they won't "label" it anything else.
Absolutely loved this. It's based in my neck of the woods so I totally felt at home and really sucked into the story. I confess I was looking for all the places mentioned LOL.
A great story, wonderful character and a strong, emotive storyline. I loved meeting all the secondary characters, some with more impact on Hannah than you think they may have. I really want to see more of Jiles!
The interaction between the two main characters made this story feel real to me. It was easy conversation where both pretty much said what they were thinking. I dont have the correct words to explain what I mean by that but it was just so easy to read and imagine.
I loved this book, it was a quick one sitting read that wasn't full of a whole lot of drama and problems at every turn. I'm so used to reading twists and turns, which I love, and at first I kept waiting for that to happen in this book, but they never came and I was truly ok with that. It was a nice break from the kindle throwing LOL
I love this author and I love how her stories flow so easily. I have to admit Jesse was one of my favorite characters in this story. His loyalty to and friendship with Hannah seemed real and I felt that! There are some steamy scenes that will make you blush and some fun back and forth that will make you smile and in some cases laugh out loud a little.
I loved this sweet romance by K.m and definitely a pleasant change for something light and quick to read. Hannah runs her own design marketing business and hates Valentine's day with a passion after her ex broke up with her on that day. Kyle is the client who owns the hotel Hannah is doing some design and planning an opening extravaganza on Valentine's day. Kyle too has his reasons for hating Valentine's day so they hit it off with their hate for the day. Kyle manages to sweet talk Hannah and sweeps her off her feet. It was cute watching their romance develop and some humor is thrown in to make you giggle. when Hannah least expects her past comes back to haunt her. I received an arc for an honest review for NNBB. I loved this book and read it all in one day as I was enthralled with their story and had to keep going. If you love a sweet romance with some hotness and humor thrown in you will love this story. Every girl would love to have a guy like Kyle for their boyfriend.
Date Night is a sweet but spicy, feel good, romance read that I thoroughly enjoyed reading.
Both Hannah and Kyle have been hurt by their ex's which has put them off relationships, instead they concentrate on their jobs. They have worked together in the past but never actually met in person, until now. When they meet there's an instant chemistry which leads to their no strings, date nights. But they both find themselves thinking about the other and looking forward to their next date night. How long will there date nights stay without those strings?
I loved Hannah and Kyle, their close family and friends too. I loved the way the storyline centered around Valentines Day, which they both had a hatred for. I found myself smiling quite a lot while reading at all the happiness.
If you're looking for a quick, feel good read, Date Night is definitely it.
The one thing about short, fast paced, sweet stories like this......I always want more. I would so love Jiles's story.
Absolutely delightful and heartwarming read. This is a book that is much different from most of the books I have read by Ms. Lowe and let me say, I simply adored it. I hope she writes more in this genre. The book is well written, full of romance, laughter, smiles and fun.
Hannah is one of the rare ones that hates Valentine’s Day, albeit with good reason. Reasons that have her currently swearing off men and relationships. That is until she meets Kyle, one of her online clients in person. Kyle shares her dislike for Valentine’s Day for his own reasons. With seemingly several things in common, Hannah agrees to a date “as friends”. Watching this budding friendship was absolutely adorable.
I highly recommend grabbing up Date Night, curling up in your easy chair and simply enjoying.
Each time I read one of this author’s new books, I don’t think they can get any better. Yet again, she has proved me wrong. Date Night is a sweet romance with the perfect mix of angst, romantic moments, and steam. Hannah and Kyle both have their past relationship demons, which could keep them from sharing a perfect love. You’re right there with the couple as they overcome their demons. I won’t give too much away, as I don’t won’t to spoil it for readers. As for the description of Kyle’s Glasgow hotel, I really would love to spend a romantic getaway there. This story is a must read for all those romantics out there who love this genre. One request for the author, please tell me that Jiles will have his own story!
KM Lowe has quickly become one of my fav romantic novelists to pick up. Her reads can take me away with the characters to where they are and make me feel as if I am on the adventure they are on experiencing first hand what they do. I love books that can do this for me. Date Night was no exception and quickly became a little getaway to Glasgow, somewhere I hope to get someday. I loved how this was an easy read even though it tackled the demons of the characters pasts. It never felt heavy and dark, which is nice at times but not always. I could relate to the characters and was rooting for them to get the happily ever after the whole time I read their story. I cannot wait to see what will come next from Ms. Lowe!
A very touching read from start to finish. Hannah Brently has been dumped on valentines day by Kirk, and eleven months on still single and hurt and hates the day approaching once again. Kyle Randall Glasgow's eligible bachelor gets in touch about some work in graphic designing. The chemistry between them is unreal. Mr Randall of Randell Hospitality and Miss Hannah Brently graphic designer have a date night and the first of many hopefully. This beautiful story kept me up till the early hours, and I enjoyed every precious moments, very worthy stars this author never lets me down.
Each time I read a new book from this author I’m surprised by the book, I don’t think they can better the last one but they always do. Date Night is a really sweet romance that will give you the feels. It has it all, angst, romance, and steamy moments. Hannah & Kyle both have demons haunting them from previous relationships which definitely affects how they behave, we get to see them evolve together. Great characters that were a joy to get to know. This story is a must read if you love romance.
Date Night, a short, fast-paced romance read by this great author! It contains insta love, hot bedroom activities and great characters!
"Love has a funny way of showing up when you most need it."
Kyle, the eligible batchelor burned by love, can't stop thinking about a certain brown-haired beauty. Hannah, the anti Valentine’s queen, feels herself drawn by a dark haired Adonis.
From the opening paragraph where I drew in a breath, thinking oh sugar, through the fear they both had till the end had me turning pages and getting annoyed with anything that interrupted me.
How would you feel if you were in a relationship to be told something that you never suspected, never even gave a thought to and then on Valentine’s Day.
I would recommend this book and I know I will reread it again and again
An enjoyable story, told in DUAL POV's, it's a fairly quick read, both characters have had relationship issues, and the blurb gives enough of the concept, and from the start I did get into the story. I did feel it slightly rushed towards the ending, and there were some slight misunderstandings/drama along the way, however, the Epilogue tied it all together.
REVIEWING FOR ROCK HARD ROMANCE by Vicki RHR RATING 4*/5
This is a fab read from a great author. Date night is a romance with every emotion going in it. Being dumped is bad any time, but being dumped on Valentine’s Day is just about the worst day possible. Seeing loved up couples when you’re upset and alone isn’t good. After throwing herself into her work Hannah doesn’t expect to find happiness, especially when she’s not even looking for it.
Date Night by K.M. Lowe is a rom com and is a fun read. We all know you are supposed to love valentine’s day BUT for some it can be a day of hell. The story is an easy read that flows well but is a little predictable. The characters are likeable and will make you smile at the antics of our MC. Sparks fly when they let go of the past and open their hearts once again to the promise of love.
I really don't know how to rate this book. It went way too fast and was too porny for mu liking [which is weird considering I liked 50 shades and similar]. I guess I just wasn't expecting it in this book, thought it would be a cute story, and it was, but too fast and mostly about sex.
I loved Hannah and Kyle and I can't wait for you to meet them both. Along with Jesse and Peter, Hannahs best friend and partner and Jiles, Kyle's brother. The characters keep you entertained and wanting more.
This is a sweet (and hot!) story about two people who are anti Valentine's Day, but after meeting for the first time having had an online working relationship for years, sparks begin to fly, just in time for the Valentine's opening of Kyle's hotel!
Fantastic read so much so I read it in 1 night. Hannah has given up on men until Kyle comes along. He changes her mind and shows her that some men are romantic and good enough! Lighthearted and just what I needed. Definitely recommend x
Date Night by KM Lowe is a wonderful love story that has emotions, heat, and sweetness. Kyle and Hannah's chemistry is snaking as they learn to embrace love again after being burned by their pasts. A fantastic journey that makes you root for love.
Another great read from K.M.Lowe. Hannah and Kyle. Do workaholic have a chance at love or does work and their past get in the way? Read and find out. You wont be disappointed.
