3.7/5 Very intriguing, dramatic & intelligently written. Irrespective of the fact many loopholes were there, many phenomenons need more detailed account, still I like it. The novel started off like a typical love story, a rich guy fall in love at first sight, leave all the things for her but what then??? How? Why? Where? here comes the magic of the writer. I always say Hashim Nadeem is an intelligent writer, he knows how to pick up the story and brought it to another level and that's what he did in this one. First 40 pages were average but after that it became interesting and more interesting. Not an exceptional story but still a good one to read.
this novel is very helpful to find those, which we like or find....... further, this novel is written awesome. Hashim Nadeem is very very very good novel writer. i love this novel very much and i love sufisim and tasawuf very much
sahr in the novel is the mussmerizing character for me..he is the one who got the right path means "eshq-e-haqiqi" through "eshq-e-majazi" that he found in the face of Zohra..for that purpose on require proper guidline from a proper and well-observed teacher that Sahar got from Sultan Baba..i learn from the novel how to sacrifice for love either for a person or ALLAH... i can't found words to pay tribute to this greatest novel and the writer..
Hashim nadeem is one of the best abstractor in current era. He has depict factual definition of love in this book & portray islamic doctrine quiet handsomely.😋 It is a very simple and straightforward novel about Sufism that's lead us to Ishq-e-Haqiqi from Ishq-e-majazi. It leaves you with a lasting sense of love, the fragrance of emotions and the courage needed to travel on the ways you feel are right.🙏 This novel gives you answers about divinity. Author gave his best like he did in Khuda aur Muhabbat. 😊 All characters and events are well described, suspense of reader remains till end. I must appreciate Hashim Nadeem for his highest approach to deliver such a beautiful subject. 👌
1. It was good but not as good as I was expecting it to be.
2. I did not find that Ishq e haqeeqy factor (due which I had actually gotten this book). It started with ishq e majazi, it went on with ishq e majazi. The 'issues'/'problems' were directly/indirectly related to the same dunyawi muhabbat and all. The use of adjective ooooof!!
3. At some points there seemed a forced use of مشکل باتیں. Looking at the background of our narrator, the dialogues seemed a lil forced (sometimes).
4. I loved how the author talked about جنات and other worldly creatures, their presence, their interactions with humans and all that.
5. I LOVED the whole idea of being of عبدللہ in "real sense."
sach me Tareef ke layak toh kuch bhi nahi hai mere paas......ha albatta taruf ke liye kitab ka naam abdullah hai! Not recommended at all ! The story starts like khuda & mohabbat ..turns into one sided love to super weird love triangle to mutual love And then where it goes , you'll never thought of.... feels like the protagonist is roaming in the whole book wherever he wants...meets anyone...does anything. The last thing I remember, I read ,when from behind the peepal ka tree zohra comes and she sits and talk and then magically disappears....wow!!!!!...and then I stopped to never read again

Awesome novel by Hashim Nadeem. When you finish reading, after each chapter it leaves you with a lasting sense of love, the fragrance of emotions and the courage needed to travel on the ways you feel are right. One of the best books.
Is attaining the highest level of spirituality the only way to gain love? Hashim Nadeem answers the questions. The events of the story are well-linked.
Erratic, beautiful and so intense. The kind of book where every page will make you highlight more than couple of sentences. Sentimentally devastating!!
Abdullah is the kind of book which gives you answers about divinity. I read it at a time when my brains were bursting with a lot of questions about science and religion. This book has solved my problems and dilemmas about the divine nature and science. I won't say that after reading this book, the thirst I had for my questions is quenched. But it sure did help me in seeing a different perspective of the divine nature.
I like how after falling in love with a girl at first sight, Abdullah goes on a journey that brings him closer to Allah. This love story is not your traditional love story where a boy and a girl falls in love and get married. Abdullah has described a more beautiful form of love which is not restricted to the union of two bodies but a love that is search for the love of another person's soul. When the love reaches a person's soul, it becomes purer. This love story tells how a love can turn a person's life upside down. It tells how hungry the soul gets to know more when it gets the knowledge of the divine. It tells how the souls are linked and connected. It tells how there are a lot of questions that science cannot answer.
This book has pure thoughts and feelings. Amazing read!
This book has written by Hashim Nadeem , a well known writer of urdu language. You might have heard that words speak, cry and smile or you must have passed from the experience of hypnotising while reading a book.If you experienced such things then you will get the essence of this book but if you not then you must read it, in order to become familiar with such experiences. This book is related with a young person who belongs from elite class and the only son of his parents. But something, which you will know in the book, changes his entire life. Do you know what was that? Love , the feeling which let Sahir (Abdullah) to leave own luxurious home and parents and adopt a life full of simplicity in a darga. From onward his journey begins which lasted on other book named Abdullah 2. He passes from tremendous pain and every time his eyes were full of tears which he uses to nourish love in his beloved heart. The words are full of pain and it ultimately fills eyes with tears which you will not know but those tears will be coming out from your eyes. A journey from unknowing to knowing.
this was just awesome ... I read it like this is the last book ... emotions .. my my .. just superbly described .. It won't be lie if i say all the characters were like I am seeing them ... the story was of a boy called SAhir ( impressive name and he really spellbound me) he was a rake, ,, umm rake may be the wrong word, I shoud say " careless in his belief of life " and then ... he fell in love with a girl named " zahra" the beauty of her mesmirized her ... his parents agreed to marry him, the girl's parents were ready, so what was the problem ? the problem was , zahra .. who loved someone .. after that there is struggle of sahir who becomes Abdullah and become religious and start his journey from "worldly love to eternal love " ... the writer really made impression with this one ... just made my heart melt .. truly worth reading ...
Well as for me It was a good "love story" but as far as talking about the religious side of this story it was highly unsatisfactory. Because in my view Prayer is only said to Allah by a person and he does not need any other person to do it for him because all of us are same . We all are equal. This thought should be vanished that we need some sort of source to make contact to Allah.
Well the story was perfect until some over lengthy paragraphs of the characters which were not even important for example in jabal pur we are given the entire chronicle of Laraib ‘S family and what was the point of mentioning Zehra,S step sister? Perfect for those who want to get a cut look from ordinary to adventurous story
This kind of 'ishq is instinctive and always active in the governing Intellects and is the striving of the human and celestial souls. Get Yourself a Copy
