Fans of fun yet heart-pounding urban fantasies will love this series! * There is a partial cliffhanger - each novel can stand alone and is also part of a larger story arc that continues through the series. These are full novels.

FOURTH in a FABULOUS series, (book one is available for free on FreeBooksy and that's how I got hooked) NOT my ordinary cuppa tea - after all, Kilty DOES have Fabio tones , but they are not at all what I expected.. in a very GOOD way - and the author gifted me this book through her fan page. I highly recommend the series, it has great characters, laugh out loud spots.. greatly annoying my sleeping husband but, oh well. This particular book was very exciting with a never stopping story line. Do yourself a favor and checjk out this author!
Yet another quirky installment starting Kilty, our favorite time traveling Scot. Each book in this series has pulled me further and further into the story and I’m anxious to see how it all ends!(though I’d much prefer it never to end!) Amy’s ability to create a movie in my mind as I read is fascinating, and I really enjoy how much detail goes into every single character.
This story had action, adventure, fear, sadness, love, and sexual teasing. I like trying to figure out the whys of it all before I’m supposed to know, though I’m not really very good at it.😂
Nothing bad to say at all about this story. I canNOT wait to read the next one! Hurry Amy!
I love this series. And honestly, I'm not sure at this point the series could disappoint me. There are riotously funny moments throughout that had me snorting in a most unladylike fashion. Don't be fooled though. The cleverness of the plot threads and the interweaving of different genres makes this book (and series) much more than a laugh. It is addictive, fun, and intelligent. The best kind of entertainment I can ask for, really!
I never thought I would like time-travel books, but.... each book in this series makes me laugh more and keeps me interested longer. This 4th book is no exception. I just love the Broch and Catriona relationship.
Broch and Catriona head to Vegas to rescue one of Parasol Pictures newest stars who was kidnapped due to bad gambling debts. While there Catriona finds herself in peril, and having to try to save herself as the last time she saw Broch, he was hearded out of the building at gunpoint after two others had been killed.
While in California, Catriona's real and adoptive fathers are going at each other hoping to make sure the other will not be able to reappear.
This story is straight out of the old Twilight Zone shows
Kilty As Sin (Book #4) — Amy Vansant (35 chapters) Nov. 1-11, 2020
I read this as apart of the Kilty Pack II (Books 4-6) set.
This book continues the adventures of Catriona, Broch, Sean, Luther, and Fiona. The story starts out with Fiona and Ryth and the reader is made to believe that was the direction the story would take but instead the reader was drawn into a side story which makes this book feel like a filler story in an arc.
It’s not bad, the characters are fun, but it’s not exactly as lively and exciting as the first set in the series.
There are only a few new things learned about Catriona and her special abilities. This was a disappointment. But a few surprises did happen that make more sense about the supporting characters and how they play into the scheme of the series going forward. Also, this reader was confused about the title. It seemed arbitrary to the overall story.
This reader hopes book 5 is better. One last note: this reader had not read the first set in awhile, and it took a bit to get re-acclimated to the story, which was OK and not OK. OK because if a reader picked this book up to read it, it would seem alright, maybe average. Not OK because although this reader knows how rich and deep the last three books were, if a new reader had picked this one up to read, the story would seem a little disjointed; they would have miss out on the first really great books.
Kilty as Sin - I couldn't wait to read it. I read the first three in the series and definitely wanted more.
Catriona and Brochan are the two main characters, along with Catriona’s adoptive father Sean and Sean’s right-hand man, Luther; all well-developed personalities and likable. The banter is quick and witty - laugh out loud funny.
There is mystery, suspense, and some of the best thought out choreographed scenes that I've read in a while. That's very difficult to do for any writer, but this writer really brought words to life.
There is time travel - but just a touch that really makes this story very interesting. There are Vegas mobsters, a really unlikable sister, a disturbed father, and a couple of side kooks that add to the plot. Best of all there is a sweet romance wrapped up into one intriguing story.
Fun, entertaining, and consuming. The Kilty series is a must read.
This is a stand-alone, but I’d recommend starting from the beginning with Kilty as Charged – Kilty Conscience – Kilty Mind.
I thought the first book in the series was kind of on the silly side, but it was fun, clean, and a break from reality. Quickly, I read the second and third books. Still kind of silly, but who could not just love Sean & Broch, the Highlanders? And the time jumping was interesting and imaginative.
Now, I have been waiting and waiting, and even set an alert for the release, for the 4th book, Kilty As Sin. I really liked it. I've gotta commend Amy Vansant for adding the attraction between Broch and Catriona, but not filling it with the nasty, formulaic, graphic sex scenes. This is a great story to follow without it being ruined with that.
3 stars I purchased a copy of the murder mystery novel Kilty as Sin: Kilty Series book 4 by Amy Vasant and this review was given freely. A dramatic but confusing beginning with multiple seemingly unrelated evil storylines and of course time travel offset by the humor provided by Broch and Catriona bickering about their relationship and Broch's quirky ways. While in the modern day, Catriona nd Fiona's evil father Rune arrives, multiple people try to mame, mutilate, and kill Catriona, Broch, Sean and various other people; Sean is sent back in time to Scotland on the day his wife was killed. Although interesting and action packed with a few time traveling surprises, this novel was way to violent for me.
I have read and enjoyed all 4 books in this series. If you haven't read the others, start at the beginning, with the first book and read them in order. I laughed, I held my breath in suspense and I threw some imaginary punches.
The story follows on from the previous 3, this time set mainly in Las Vegas. The story takes a dark turn when Cat is taken by a man who beats and then murders women for sport. Of course, the good guys triumph in the end. In the meantime, Sean has his own adventure, jumping back in time. I did a shed a tear or 2 here. The other twist was both expected and unexpected. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but if you like suspense and romance with a hefty dose of humor, you will love the Kilty series. I can't wait for the next book(s)!!
I love this series!! Characters are fleshed out and the story flows. Very well written. Good dialog. I could just picture it all taking place. Catriona and Broch make a good pair. There are times when you just have to laugh. There are family members involved in this story. Catriona, her sister Fiona, their father and Catriona's adoptive father. This story has it all. There is romance, mystery, action, suspense, sadness, adventure, fear, and a little time travel. Get a copy and come along on this roller coaster ride. You'll be glad you did. I voluntarily received a copy of this book and I'm voluntarily posting a review. My opinion is entirely my own.
Amy Vansant writes funny thrillers. Meaning, although there is a distinct noir feel to the story, her sense of humor bubbles up effortlessly and effervescently through the action. However, she can do serious, and the first chapter of this book is . . . disturbing. Fortunately the first few words of chapter two help dispel the unease a bit, but one understands there is a dark side to this tale of time-traveling Scots. In fact, be aware that some of the scenes are exceedingly violent, potentially worrying, and intense. Oh, also there is romance--yeah, this book has it all!
I do not normally read time travel mysteries, as they can be confusing and disjointed. This series is done very well. I had no trouble following the timelines. And as all the trips back to Scotland seemed related to the present plotline, it was cohesive for me. I do not care for the overarching arc line that does not get resolved over the 4 book series. But at least each book has a mystery or murder that does get resolved, so it does not feel unfinished in that respect.
Oh gosh, this series is wacky and weird and funny. Broch is hilarious trying to figure out our world and Catriona is my kind of lady, tough, strong, scary and yet lovable. The side characters were very entertaining, I mean, the Frenchman? He’s just too much! Read this, you’ll love it.
I usually don't read this type of stories, but find myself intrigue and loving the series. You need to read the kilty series in order to understand the dynamic of good vs. evil. The characters in the stories are from another century that passed through time to modern day . Loved the story, I was thoroughly entertained.
Kilty As Sin: Romantic Suspense Mystery Thriller by Amy Vansant
Once again, these characters have taken me on a wonderfully amusing ride. With mystery and mayhem everywhere, they still manage to make me laugh. In this one they also managed to break my heart. This is a great series, but again...cliffhanger!
A very enjoyable read! Lots of good action & suspense! I love that the accents were written in, it doubled my pleasure in the book. Those Highlanders are quite the scrabblers! Sorry Sean couldnt save his wife. Would have liked to know how he ended up rasing Catironia but I guess I'll find out down the line! Great read. Thank you!
Love this series, love Broch and love Broch and Catriona together. There was more violence in this one than I prefer, but I enjoy the humor, Broch’s accent and the time travel mystery. I look forward to more in this series.
And the fun continues. This is a wonderful series. I'm enjoying the play between the two main characters. It isn't continuous suspense, there are many light, funny situations.
Still surprises, still humour, a bit of romance and a devilishly good plot. Add one hunka hunka highlander .... It doesn't get better than this! I will cry when I come to the last book... Starting book 5 now!
