I'm a prisoner in the Unseelie world. The bars of my prison my portal to home. The Queen of Air and Darkness my judge, jury . . . and executioner.
I must pay for my crimes, she tells me— for all my sins . And while I wait in this cold, dark Hell, my father has the real murderer, the Unseelie Prince, Absolon. Lucifer won't hurt him, even when Absolon laughs in his face. For my life hangs in the balance . . .
But was this all part of the Queen's master plan? A plan to make me hurt. A plan to make me pay . . . and to force to his knees the one who got away—Redemption.
He will beg for her mercy. He will stand bare for her cruel gaze. Will do it all . . . and he'll do it for me.
We'll fight with all we have. We'll hold each other close. And pray we survive.
I have been an avid reader for longer than I can remember, desiring the darker, edgier works of Bram Stoker, Stephen King, Dean Koontz. I first started writing in High School giving that away when my first attempt was nothing more than dribble. I wish now that I kept at it, pursued it with a hunger that I currently possess.
Writing is my passion, it is what fuels the fires inside of me and it is an all-or-nothing furnace that keeps me up at all hours.
I am married to a wonderful supportive husband, I have 2 wonderful kids and the best friends that I have waited some 35 odd years to meet.
Well the wicked Unseelie Queen Mab has had Lorn daughter of Lucifer taken to her realm, but it seems the Queen has ulterior motives for this and it's not to kill Lorn... She is trying to lure a former lover and the only way she can assure his compliance is through Lorn. Mab has a big surprise in store though, things will not go the way she planned.
Lorn discovers secrets that have haunted Redemption for years, but she will finally come to terms with the things he did. And Lorn will learn another super secret that dear old daddy was keeping from her and it will be earth shattering.
Love the end of Hell is a Harem, so eye opening and intriguing and untold adventures to come....
I waited until reading all of the books in the series before providing the reviews.
The final book was my least favorite because I felt that it completely diverged from the first three books and gave only a fleeting nod to what I felt was the main story line of the first books -- the "mystery" surrounding the death of the mother of the main character. I don't know if that story line continues in to the new series that was teased at the end of this one but I do know that I have no interest in trying to find out.
This book explores a very dark sexual relationship that often seems gratuitous and does not do much to buttress the plot or relationships of the characters.
The main character is a strong woman and does not wait to be saved by anyone else - in fact, she is working to save others. However, she often seems to revel in her pain to the point of annoyance and you wonder what the men in her life find so irresistible.
Much of the writing from the main character's view point in the series is chaotic and disjointed, although it got much better toward the final book. Unfortunately, is was not dissimilar when providing chapters from other character's view points......and that fails to truly utilize that narrative tool when you cannot distinguish a character's "voice" without needing the author to tell you who it is at the beginning of the chapter.
If I'm in the middle of reading a series I'm terrible about reviewing every book. So this is it. The final cut. The books are AMAZING. They have everything you could ever want. Mystery, suspense, romance, etc. Faulks' writing style is flawless. The first book seems like it's all over the place, but the female H is all over the place and the book is on 1st person pov, so it makes sense. You meet all her men. The romance is almost secondary to the plot and the suspense and everything else, but it is definitely there. You feel the undercurrent of tension in every interaction between Porn and her men. Book 1 will throw you for a loop. Book 2 will blow your mind. Book 3 will make you rage and scream at the injustice of it all. And book 4 will leave you almost comatose. There are twist after twist in the plot. JUST when you think Lorn gets a break and she can rest easy something else is thrown her way. The ending to book 4.... UNBELIEVABLE. You will not see it coming. I'm guessing to see what happens you have to read Heaven is Harem. Hopefully we can see how Lorn and her men are doing while following along with another plot twist. Happy reading lovelies
Oh man Lorn and her men are in hot water now as the Queen of the Unseelie has taken Lorn prisoner in turn Lorn's father Lucifer imprisons her son Absolon for his crimes of leading the Nine. Lorn's men are shocked and trying to find a way to save her from the clutches of the Queen. Redemption plays a big part in this one but I am not saying how or why.
Lorn struggles in the Queen's castle which is made from obsidian stone. Queen Mab has a black heart to match her throne. Giving Lorn freedom to go where she wants supposedly with the warning of creatures she doesn't control within the forest.
A Silver stag and a Queen;s guardsmen play key roles as well. Ms. Faulks writes with emotions shining in every chapter, angst, drama, mystery, passion and of course, romance as well. She entertains as well as giving you awesome book boyfriends that you just have to recommend her work because you are so impressed with her gift for story telling.
I voluntarily read an advance copy and in no way have I been compensated for this opinion but judge it for yourself if you can handle shifters, angels, a hell hound, a human with a bit more in his ancestry and fae characters.
So this book was better than the book before but nothing great. Our girl ended up being taken by the evil fae queen Mave and she gave her son the to the devil since he was the one who killed his love her mom and worked with “the nine”,
Her guys actually fought for her this time which was nice to see but the queen was just a little to sock for my liking. S&M in the bedroom is one thing but forcing a man to take a magic concoction that is like a very aggressive viagra is sick. From the sounds of it she’s used it before and that’s rape. I don’t enjoy listening to sexual abuse at all. How her consort could still “love” her if you call it love I don’t know it’s just messed up.
We had one guy kill himself (or his human body so he could get back into the fae realm yet he seems to have a body?) I don’t know. Then we had “god” as a white stag leading them back to each other.
There was just a lot going on in this book but I wouldn’t say in a good way. The book ends like it’s an epic cliffhanger but as exciting as it was… I’m worried the execution of the storyline will just fall flat like the rest if these books
I’m a prisoner in the Unseelie world. The bars of my prison my portal to home.
The Queen of Air and Darkness my judge, jury…and executioner.
I must pay for my crimes, she tells me—for all my sins.
And while I wait in this cold, dark Hell, my father has the real murderer, the Unseelie Prince, Absolon.
Lucifer won’t hurt him, even when Absolon laughs in his face.
For my life hangs in the balance…
But was this all part of the Queen’s master plan?
A plan to make me hurt.
A plan to make me pay…
And to force to his knees the one who got away—Redemption.
He will beg for her mercy.
He will stand bare for her cruel gaze.
Will do it all…and he’ll do it for me.
We’ll fight with all we have. We’ll hold each other close.
And pray we survive.
This is a dark book filled with torture and darkness. This is the final book in the series and WOW!!!! Kim Faulks has done an astonishing job! I am an addict for her words ,her characters and the world she has built for us! It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! Abso-freaking-lotely amazing!!!
I’ll tell you a secret - #4 is the first story in this series I have read. I did not get confused or lost. AND I enjoyed it so much I bought the boxset so I can read the first three stories.
The characters come alive. The rapport each man (beast?) feels for Lorn becomes apparent, and the feeling is mutual. Magic, revenge, self-sacrifice and the challenges of other worlds culminate in a spectacular story and stunning read.
“Whatever happens…I love you…. The faint echo slipped through the cracks of my mind. My heart lunged, slamming against the confines of my chest. I spun, and scanned the darkness. Lorn?” But there was no answer, and there was no Lorn. Just a whisper of a woman. Her final words thrust between realms. “
Off to read the rest – I highly recommend this series!!
I love this series! We finally get to learn what fate has up it's sleeves in the finale of this series!
Possible SPOILERS
Lorn was taken by Queen Mab to her castle because the Queen's son has created all sorts of problems and as punishment Prince Absolon was taken to hell by Lucifer....Lorn's dad. Lorn will stop at nothing to escape the unseelie world that is until...Redemption shows up and puts a monkey wrench into her plans. Redemption will do anything to set Lorn free even if that means going back to deal with Queen Mab. Rival, Gabriel + Titus will do everything to get to Lorn and once they have her they will NEVER let her go! Once Lorn is back with her men she receives some startling news.....
Loved everything about this final book, great pace, plot n characters.
Read it in one go and up to the very last page it didn't disappoint. I so didn't see that ending coming and it sets up the next two books up perfectly.
Totally addictive, could have done with a few more sexy times I thought, not enough down n dirty.
Also a few sp errors or just incorrect words- needs editing- in truth thats true for the who series.
You're crying. What a way to wrap up this series. I loved Lorn and her men. They are complex set of characters with a complicated relationship. This is a well written story with a very fleshed out story and world descriptions. I loved it. Cannot wait for the next series.
Things aren't always what they seem in Lorn's world. Especially when your dealing with the Unseelie Queen! As Rival, Gabriel,Titus and Redemption rushed to try to find away into the Unseelie world, Lorn fights to stay sane in a world of darkness. This is such a well written, never know what's coming book and a great end to a wonderful series!
I loved this epic conclusion to Lorn's story. It was so exciting and had me on the edge of my seat. I have loved all 4 of these books but this one is definitely my favourite. If you have read the other 3, then you simply must read this and if you haven't started this series yet, what are you waiting for?
Lorn has been taken hostage by Queen Mab the very mad Unseelie Queen. While there she was tested in many ways. The queen was sadistic, wanting vengeance for the death of the hag, or is it something more? This 4th book Lorn can't use her powers so it's her mind and heart that makes this a bit different than other books but no less good.

Not really sure what the big bad was in this book. It seemed like the big bad was defeated to simply and the rest of the book was filler? I enjoyed reading the book and watching the story unfold but I am really not sure what exactly happened, and I must say that ending. A spin of series in the works.
This was a great final book! Again, very intense and dark. But exciting and joyful too. Really like the way this series ended and the outcome for all the characters! And that last chapter was fantastic! Looks like I have a new series to start! Yay!
I enjoyed this series but am left a little confused regarding sone inaccuracies. I feel the story works have been better if fleshed or into a few more books to explain everything properly.
This story is constantly evolving! Love the series and loved finding out if Redemption get redeemed! So much background and detail that I found myself rereading to get the clear pic the author is depicting. Vividly written!i loved it!
eh. I liked it, but I didn't love it. I am going to read the spin off series, because I like how they hinted at this for a few books now. This wasn't just something thrown in, the writer built up to it, which I always love.
This series is a lot different than what is out there. This was one of my favorites in the Lorn series though. Well written and a good read all around. Not wasting your time reading any of them.
I have loved this series, it's taken my breath away so my many heart stopping times. I could honestly read them all over again. Now I just have to wait to read the next book.
This series has everything you could ever want in it action, suspense, mystery and romance. I must say how Lorn handled the queen was perfect and allowed everyone to survive the situation. That ending though!!!!!! I immediately went and downloaded the Heaven is a Harem series because of it.
