Luv @ First Site PLOT: Bree falls head over heels for a gorgeous guy she runs into in the mall. Not use to not being noticed by the opposite sex (and considering all she seems to do is make a fool of herself in front of him) she schemes on a way to get next to him. Things come to a halt when she thinks one of her besties is trying to cope him for herself, but this is cleared up easily. So she goes forth with her plans and starts up a computer dating service to match people up and surprise surprise! Guess who he'll be paired up with? But things go south when Bree's perfect match is a geeky guy in her class with an interest in her as well as in her interest (fashion) and her girl (Jamie) is paired with her dream guy. She finds out he's not what she wanted after dating him and finding out he's racist. But then Jaimee finds out that she switched the results and starts to see him. Jamie's eyes are finally opened when Bree comes to her rescue when a date with him ends up at a party with drinking. In the end, Bree finds two great guys that are into her. One is a potential match for her. The other she gives the friend card.
MY THOUGHTS: This is the second book where Bree is running up behind some guy that ain't studding her. First of all, can we say TOO MUCH WORK to go through all that trouble to set up a computer dating service just to get with some guy that doesn't even notice you? YES! We have ALL been there and put ourselves out there like that. But then this book does the typical thing. Girl likes hot guy. The smart guy likes girl. Hot guy turns out to be an ass. Smart guy turns out to be there for girl. Girl still doesn't realize that the one she should go for is smart guy. And then what was going on with Jaime in this book? YES! Bree was wrong but after that lackluster date that she practically had to beg that guy to go on, Bree more than learned that just because a guy is physically attractive doesn't mean he's the right one. Jaimee was a little low down for what she did in going out with him and practically throwing herself at him right after it didn't go well with her and Bree. And the TG didn't say anything to Jaime, yet they checked Bree. Bottom line, ladies do NOT run up after a guy. If the guy wants you he'll show you. And don't be so quick to dismiss the smart one because when its all said and done years down the road those will be the ones that will always be down for you and have your back. Take it from me!!!!
RATING: 61/2 The story didn't stray from the typical cookie cutter conclusion. And it all ends with her finding a guy (sighs). I won't even go into how unrealistic that is but books love to stay in this nice, safe, little box!
H'm, it was interesting. I didn't feel that I could really relate to the girls in it though. One reason being that this was written in the '90s, I believe, so the computer world was quite different. The other reason would be that I don't believe in dating, so it felt a little wishy-washy concerning that stuff. I liked it, but that was about it. Well-written, but not quite up my alley.
