Book three in the Raising Cain series. As the only sister of four bossy brothers, Casey McCain is used to being overprotected and cared for. What she isn’t used to, however, is the overwhelming need to give herself completely to another, namely Jared Calabrese. When their relationship progresses and Casey is presented with Jared’s collar, she runs scared.Jared has had enough of Casey’s evasion of him and their relationship. He sets a plan in motion to show Casey there is no weakness in being submissive, in being owned by him. He not only overwhelms her with his presence, throwing them together whenever possible, but he also shows Casey how others in the BDSM lifestyle live so she understands there is no one right way. Jared plans not only to win Casey back but to capture her, heart, body and soul, and he’ll use whatever means necessary to see the job done.
Maggie Casper's life could be called many things but boring isn't one of them. If asked, Maggie would tell you that blessed would more aptly describe her everyday existence.
Being loved by four gorgeous daughters should be enough to make anybody feel blessed. Add to that a bit of challenge, a lot of fun and an undeniably close circle of friends and family and you'd be walking in her shoes.
A love of reading was passed on by Maggie's mother at a very early age, and so began her addiction to romance novels. Maggie admits to writing some in high school but when life got in the way, she put her pen and paper up. Seems that things changed over the years because when she finally decided it was time to put her story ideas on paper, the pen was out and the computer was in. Took her a while to catch up but she finally made it.
When not writing, Maggie can usually be found reading, doing genealogy research or watching NASCAR.
I did not care for Jared at all. He came across as a creepy, obnoxious stalker. He just could not accept no and really did not care about her feelings. The way he treated her at the bar in front of customers was disgusting and made her a laughing stock. He talked about communicating and talking things through but it really was always about what he wanted . Also him calling her girl all the time was very disturbing. It's hard to believe that Casey would all of a sudden accept his treatment of her after going to a BDSM conference. Casey was too accepting of the way he treated her especially after voicing her concerns about them. Also Jared punishing her for making him chase after her to convince her they belong together was pretty low.
I love stories about reconciliation and second chances, so I was really looking forward to this one after reading Enough Love For Two. Aside from the hero calling the heroine "girl" all the time, the story was good. I especially liked how the author showed Casey's struggle with coming to terms with her submissive desires, her independence constantly battling with her need to please her Dom.
I didn't really connect with either character. I'm not it was because it's the third book in the series and I haven't read the previous books but I felt like I was plunked down in the middle of their relationship and expected to already know everything about them, how they met, personality quirks, etc.
