The gangster, the witch and the wardrobe

Another terrific read. Mind you it must admit that i felt slightly peeved at her two fellow witches - shouldn't the feeling be 'One for all and all for one". A plot that spans time, gangsters and witches. It's good to see her powers grow but her fellow witches could get more supportive.
A meal with Nick and his grandfather was nerve wracking but as she passed the condo next to theirs a feeling of pain overwhelmed her. Almost like being bludgeoned over the head. Later she comes back to investigate. A dead body in a wardrobe and worse it is from 1927! Add in a wardrobe that can move things through time, a gang turf war, a witch and possibly another two victims. Will she be able to find out who the dead body was and who killed him? Will her skills at going into the web of time increase? Who is the witch and what is her aim?

This series is so good!

This series is so good ! It is interesting to see how the
characters are all filling out as the story line progresses a nd the fact that they are all choosing and dealing with th e same issues in different and unique specific to them ways and even though Amanda is behind the the others she is catching up fast with them and her way works for her and watching her learn how to deal with the time, stories, emotions and the other characters is interesting and messy just like real life and fun to watch how she is learning to do this and deal with it in relation to her and time and not mess it like or change the out come or the future her present time.

Hmmm...3.5 stars.

I probably would have rounded up if it weren't for the pseudo love-triangle thing going on. I've read the synopses of future books, and I know who Amanda ends up with, and I don't like it.

This one was also a little darker than the first couple of books. It wasn't bad, but there were things in it that I just didn't love.

However, I am enjoying the series enough to continue. It just won't go down as one of my favorites.

Third Time is a Charm

I enjoy watching Amanda grow more confident in her abilities. She is the last of the three witches to learn about witchcraft. She has so much doubt about her ability to learn, but the more she uses the magic not only for her own reasons but to help others, she is growing by leaps and bounds.

Amanda is starting to understand more of her powers, but runs across a mysterious magical armoire that defies her current knowledge. She spends quite a bit of time in the past and runs afoul of another witch. The book abruptly ends with the three witches each researching a different aspect of their skills and knowledge. The ending is wide open to the next book in the series.

I enjoyed this 3rd book in the series. Amanda finally realizes she has to step up and work harder if she is going to figure out her powers without having to always depend on the other 2 witches.
