Life Is for Living

Rate this book
When you don’t have a good man beside you, has God cheated you?

Do you think abundant life will only come after you marry?

If you’ve asked these questions, this book is for you!

Set in the charm of Ireland’s countryside and coastline, and sprinkled with true stories, this book shows women how to live with Purpose…Passion…Promise.

You will identify with these stories, questions, and dreams, and feel that you are not alone as you’ve feared. You will find that God’s desire for you is to live decisively and purposefully instead of merely putting in time or endlessly swimming circles in the fish bowl.

Because life is for living, not for waiting around!

Life is for Living was a very relaxed walk through the various aspects of a single woman's life, and how it can be fulfilling and abundant through a loving relationship with Jesus Christ. The author does not gloss over the struggles that will still accompany singleness, but neither does she allow that despair, jealousy, envy, or depression should take precedence in a life that can bring glory and honor to God, no matter what stage or situation the person finds themselves in.

I was pleased with the encouragement that this book had to offer, although some of the points were repeated often and in varying ways. The main thing I came away with was the idea to "live abundantly" for the Lord, in all that I do and to seek out opportunities to live even more abundantly every day.

One of the suggestions the author gave was to keep a journal to write down all of the things you are thankful for. It can just be a line or two a day, and as simple as an appreciative glance or as significant as the help of a friend. I already have a similar journal that was given to me at my graduation, called a "Joy Journal", and I am excited to get back to writing in it!

This Book is amazingly written by a single lady from Ireland. She challenges her readers to abandon themselves to God,enjoy life to its fullest. Just because you are not married, doesn't mean God is cheating you! This book has been a blessing to married ladies as well! I have read it through once, and read parts of it over again a few times! EXCELLENT!

This is the best material I have ever read on the topic of singleness. Perhaps it met me well because I've experienced a vibrant life more fully in the last year or so, so it actually connected with realities of my life and called me to live in that passion and purpose more and more. This was the perfect book for where I am in life right now; however, it still isn't the book I wanted to read at 17, so it looks like I'm still not off the hook for writing that one myself.

As is often the case with self-published books, it has various grammatical and spelling errors and should have been narrowed down a good bit in my opinion.
Nevertheless, it is an encouraging and life-giving read for a single woman.
