Skye Moon is an avid reader, writer, and accomplished independent author. Having published her first creative work at a very young age, she always felt destined to land in the literary industry.
Hailing from the seven cities area of Virginia, Skye has an English and Hospitality degree beneath her belt. Some of her favorite authors include Christina C. Jones, Johanna Lindsey, Desiree Granger, Kresley Cole, and many more. Her downtime is often spent consuming paranormal, true crime, and fantasy shows, complete with her favorite snacks.
When picking up one of her books, know that you'll always get characters who are unapologetically black, relatable, well-developed, and feel like family. She'll always transport you to cities rich in African American culture that you won't want to leave.
As always, Skye Moon hit it out the park with Midnight. Rachel gave Jax a run for money. She definitely didn't make it easy for him to pursue her. Rachel grew up watching her dad, her favorite cousin, and her cousin's friends treat women like dogs so, she has a very distorted view of relationships. She and Jax meet each other at her client's wedding and the attraction between them is instant. And, I do mean instant! Whew! Because her attraction to Jax is a foreign concept to her and not something she's use to, Rachel runs out on him in the middle of the night. Fast forward a year later she and Jax run into each other in Brighton Bay purely by happenstance because, Tierney's new boo is Jax's brother. Y'all remember Klause from Baby It's Cold Outside? Yeah, that boo. Rachel plays hard to get but, Jax eventually wears her downs and helps her get past her fear of relationships. And, that ending! Jesus be a fence, I wasn't ready! Oh, I'm stalking Skye Moon's social media pages waiting on the next Brighton Bay book. I'm definitely expecting Corey and Cas to get their own stories. Midnight was really good. Read this book! You will not be disappointed.
Welp somebody check on mama Malory because another one of her babies done packed up and moved to Brighton Bay!
Jax didn’t intentionally mean to follow in his little brother’s footsteps but after an unexpected company merger, he’s packing up and headed to the Bay on a two year contract. Nicklaus seems to be the most excited because even though he and Tierney are closer than ever there’s nothing like having family nearby. Klaus’ only had one request for his big brother and that was to leave Rachel, T’s bff alone. Sorry little bro you’re too little too late because when their paths cross, Rachel ends up being the woman that unexpectedly stole Jax’ heart and ran off with it.
Rachel was around fk boys her entire life starting with her father so she was not trying to hear what Jax was saying as far as being in a committed relationship. She wanted a good time not a long time with Jax or at least those were the words coming out of her mouth. Her heart was speaking a very different tune and when she was no longer able to fight it, her and Jax had the makings of a beautiful beginning and even better ending!
This was a cute continuation to the series and while it wasn’t heavily laden with holiday goodness I still enjoyed the couples / characters in the story.
After giving his brother Klaus a hard time about falling quickly for his neighbor Tierney, Jax has unknowingly met his match.
Jax and Rachel (Tierney's bff) met over a year ago. Their connection was so intense in just a few days it left a mark on them both. Rachel is hesitant having only seen unsuccessful relationships she isn't too keen on entering one. Jax knows what love looks like, but having been out there he can understand some hesitation but his stubborn azz knows what he wants and that's Rachel.
It was a short story and ended before we got any real time of Jax truly pursuing her. Rachel was vulnerable she couldn't get one date? Some flowers? Any type of real gestures to ease her mind in the present. I wanted a little more from the connection that seemed so strong.
This author has definitely won me over as a reader. Even in her novellas she has the ability to capture my attention and keep me engaged as a reader. Her consistency to deliver strong female and male leads with amazing supporting cast, genuine storyline and don't forget steamy scenes keeps me coming back for more. Loved Rachel and Jax and looking forward to more of Brighton Heights.
Rachel is a woman that's afraid of being hurt. Jax is a man that knows what he wants and isn't afraid to go after it. These two have an instant connection that is undeniable, but fear and distance plays a factor in why these two may never be, that is until fate steps in. Rachel and Jax's story is instant love and rekindled love all rolled up in to one. I absolutely loved this story! I hope we'll get more of Rachel and Jax in another story.
Whew Rachel! Miss thang has a warped perception of relationships, after seeing all the men in her life treat women like ish! She was running from love, and no one was going to get her caught up. Until Jax! Jax was ready to settle down, and knew he found something special with Rachel. But, he had to get some running shoes and pull out his inner Carl Lewis to catch Rachel's ass! She was not playin'! 😂 They were so good together, as long as things were kept casual. As soon as the pressure mounted Rachel was in the wind! They both were stubborn at times, but eventually got it together. Would love to see more of them. Enjoyed catching up with Klaus as well. Cas? What the hell happened? Good read! 👍👍👍
Midnight Love! This was so good, I loved Jax from Klaus’s story and I was so interested in what his character had going on, the same with Rachel and I loved the way it all played out. I can’t wait for what’s next because that ending has me on edge. Great read as always.
It was love at first sight…and that’s exactly what scared her.
One year after meeting the man of her dreams at a mutual friend’s wedding (and jetting the morning after without even saying goodbye), Rachel is forced to confront her feelings for him head on. That’s easier said then done because Rachel does not do relationships at all! Jax is determined to make his way into her heart but will she let him in?
This was a very cute novella and the characters were well-developed. I enjoyed Rachel and Jax for the most part. They were both on a power trip and stuck in their ways. It was great catching up with the characters from Baby, It’s Cold Outside. I’m excited to go back and read the Brighton Heights series as well as any future installments in this series.
When I read Baby It’s Cold Outside I said I thought Rachel and Jax would be perfect together based on their personalities so I was hoping it would happen even though in that book they hadn’t met yet. Now the story I envisioned was nothing like the story Skye gave us, of course it was much better.
Whew!!! Rachel and Jax chemistry was so hot, I mean from that first encounter I was like damn okay. I totally didn’t expect this storyline but man was it good. Jax personality was similar to Niklaus which I thought was sexy. They were confident, went after what they wanted, and a little aggressive when they needed to be but Jax was impatient. He was not feeling the take it slow game Rachel wanted to play but Niklaus got him right in the end.
Rachel had never been in a relationship herself and she was scared to be in one after watching her cousin Corey play women to the left since she could remember. But in the end Corey gave her some great advice that allowed her to see she was passing false judgement on every man because of him. Rachel’s relationship with Corey was like brother and sister reminding me of my overbearing cousins. I hope we get a Corey book cause he was giving me all types of vibes. This was a cute story that I was not expecting at all but then again that is what I like about Skye so far she doesn’t give you the expected plot she switches it up on you.
Skye Moon has officially been added to my 2021 authors TBR list. I will be reading her catalog from beginning to current once I finish Nicole Falls catalog. I enjoy Skye’s writing style.
Rachel was exasperating. She wasn't ready for Jax and I felt his unwillingness to do all the work to get her. Anytime you start a relationship, you're risking heartbreak. I can't believe Rachel was in her 30's and never been in a relationship. She played herself. I guess there is another installment; I thought there were only two books in this series. Disappointed in the ending.
I know all the other review says the same thing and I can't help but say the same thing also. Rachel was the most stubborn character I've ever read about. My goodness. Jax was patient, but also real. This was quite enjoyable (tho I preferred Tierney's story better). I love the brothers and their jabs at one another and their dramatic momma. This kinda ended on a cliffhanger so we'll see. But this my last holiday/new year read read. Back to regular programming 🙃🙃
Lawd if stubborn had a picture in the dictionary it would be Rachel or Jax but thank goodness they are willing to risk it all for each other...The chemistry between them was magnetic from the start...I can't wait to catch up with the entire gang because the Bay is definitely growing on me and I want more
I absolutely love the banter in Skye Moon’s books. This is my 3 or 4 holiday novella by her and each one has brought me so much joy. This wasn’t quite what I was expecting but it was still a fun and enjoyable read. I the relationship between the characters and their parents and siblings it’s something so beautiful about that little touch!
Great read as always. Rachel and Jax both stubborn however Rachel was afraid of love. I understand both sides of this story. I really enjoyed this novella. I hope to read more about Rachel and Jax
Another great addition to the the Brighton Heights/Brighton Bay series. After every book in this series, I say this one is my favorite. Then I finish the next installment, and it’s just as good! If you’re a hopeless romantic like myself, then this is definitely the series for you!
I enjoyed this quick read that is centered around Jax and Rachel. It was nice that they had already had a background with each other. I loved that we got a glimpse of previous characters.
Serendipity is the theme for this book! Jax & Rachel had that thing, that thing we all look for but don’t know we need! What a great way to bring in the new year!
Don’t cheat yourself but treat yourself to this Novella
Happy New Year!!! This book was about Jax and Rachel and I was glad a book was written about them. Klaus's family was in the Bay for the new year, but Jax was also moving there as well. Going to get a haircut, Jax ran into the woman who got away. Rachel was shocked to see Jax and was even more shocked when she found out who he was. The talk they were supposed to have a year ago, they had, but it led to more. When Jax revealed to Rachel what he wanted she ran. Jax and Rachel had a connection that lasted and Jax knew he wanted Rachel, but she wasn't sure. This booked had me laughing and falling in love with Jax and Rachel and getting an update on Tirnenry and Klaus. Loved it!!!
When a weekend romance has a potential to be something else. Story had a good and believable plot and loved the characters. Love how the author showed how both were vulnerable. Glad they got their second chance at happiness.
This was short, spicy and sweet yet everything! I loved that Jax wasn't going to settle for less than what he wanted. I want more Corey! And 😫😫😫 I need the next book in the series to know about my husbae, Cas.
That ending really got me feigning to find out what’s going on in Brighton Bay! Rachel met her match with Jax and he wasn’t ready to give up on their relationship. It was also good to get a glimpse of Klaus and Tierny in this book. The book was short and very well written.
This was a good book, I understand it was a novella, but the I was a little disappointed that was so short I wanted more out of both couples, but other than that it was a good book.
Rachel was wrecking my nerves. Girl, if you don't get your man and shut up. Jax wanted it all and he got it. Cas has been in a few books I have read. He needs to find love and sit down.
I love this couple and I hope to read more. Brighton Bay is the place to be. The men love hard and strong. The women are strong, speak their mind and love their men with all their heart. Great job by an amazing writer.
