I did not know a lot about the Optavia diet prior to reading this book, it was just something I had heard about in passing. The book opens by explaining what the Optavia diet is and how it works. I think the author does a really good job explaining what the diet is in a way the reader can understand. The author explains that the traditional way to do the diet is 5 fuelings using the prepackaged Optavia foods and 1 lean and green meal. There are other variatuons, but this one is most common. This cookbook is meant to give recipes for that 1 lean and green meal. So, I think the goal is explained pretty well.
I have cooked my way through all of my cookbooks. This Optavia Diet cookbook popped up in my suggested reading and I am so glad that did! Healthy recipes for weight loss and maintenance and the mac and cheese is to die for!
