In 2019 an online Places of Poetry map was launched led by Poet Paul Farley and Academic Andrew McRae. Writers of verse were invited to submit poetry on the theme of a place they were familiar with. All 35 of Kate Brumby's poems written in just 6 weeks were accepted. The 16 poems written during or following walks in and around Broughton, North Lincolnshire are included here. Kate's modern poetry aims to help raise funds funds for the renovation of the town's Anglican church of St Mary's which has a tower dating back to 1066.

I am a British poet from Epworth in North Lincolnshire. I write a mixture of Christian and anecdotal poetry, reflections and the occasional short story.
My writing has been described by a fellow author as, "uplifting and akin to home made pie - the kind you would just like a little more of."
My poetry collection In the Palm of His Hand was published in March 2019 and is stocked by a number of cathedrals and minsters throughout the UK. It has also wended its way around the world - including Vatican City. It is being enjoyed as a book for personal devotion, group discussion as well as to aid illustration within church services. Seven Journal Notebooks are available featuring single poems from the collection - these can be found on Amazon and are being welcomed as a way of reflecting and creating in response to my words and or Bible references that are included.
My memoir His Guiding Hand fuses narrative and anecdotal poetry providing my testimony of the first 52 years of my life.
Poetry of the Sole provides reflections and poetry written during March 2020. It has been favorably featured in an online Christian magazine.
I have contributed to anthologies including When Petals Fall.
I can be found on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn - all links via my website which also provides a list of stockists including Etsy.
