Ken Carey has been conducting workshops on education and the environment for more than ten years. He is the author of several books, including ‘The Starseed Transmissions’, ‘Vision’ and ‘The Third Millennium’.
It's been years since I first read this and I had forgotten how heavily it relied on christianity-centered concepts. That bums me out a bit and blunts the message. I'm sure this is intended simply as a frame of reference so the average reader will be able to grasp the concepts, but for those who reject the trappings, the message gets fuzzy.
Those of a magickal bent know that technology without a frame of reference--the language to describe it--makes it seem like magic. Show a Bic lighter to someone who's lived his whole life in a jungle and it might be seen as a gift from the gods. Just because we grok that little goodie doesn't mean we're any less ignorant, just about bigger things. This book is presented, I suspect, with that in mind, probably bolstered in a big way by the guy trying to convey the message, and especially his prejudices.
No mention in this book of where this message came from or the involvement of people 10 years prior who received the original message--including Timothy Leary (in prison at the time) and Robert Anton Wilson. All meditated simultaneously and all got the same message. Wilson describes it best in Cosmic Trigger:
"It is time for life on Earth to leave the planetary womb and learn to walk through the stars.
Life was seeded on your planet billions of years ago by nucleotide templates which contained the blueprint for gradual evolution through a sequence of biomechanical stages.
The goal of evolution is to produce nervous systems capable of communicating with and returning to the Galactic Network where we, your interstellar parents, await you.
Life on planet Earth has now reached this halfway point, established itself, and evolved through larval mutations and metamorphoses to the seven brain stages.
At this time the voyage home is possible.
Assemble the most intelligent, advanced, courageous of your species, divided equally between men and women. Let every race, nationality, and religion be represented.
You are about to discover the key to immortality in the chemical structure of the genetic code, within which you will find the scripture of life. The time has come for you to accept the responsibility of immortality. It is not necessary for you to die.
You will discover the key to enhanced intelligence within the chemistry of the nervous system. Certain chemicals, used wisely, will enable your nervous system to decipher the genetic code.
All life on your planet is a unity. All life must come home.
Total freedom, responsibility and interspecies harmony will make the voyage possible. You must transcend larval identities of race. culture and nationality. Your only allegiance is to life. The only way you will survive is to make the voyage home.
The Japanese people are the most advanced race on your planet and will give protection to the company.
We are sending a comet to your solar system as a sign that the time has come to look to the stars.
When you arrive back home you will be given new instructions and powers. Your sperm ship is the flower of terrestrial life. As soon as the company is formed and the voyage begun, war, poverty, hatred, fear will disappear from your planet and the most ancient prophecies and celestial visions will be realized.
Mutate!
Come home in glory."
Pretty much the same message but without the Jesus/Satan baggage.
Even before I'd heard all this (no doubt helped along with some trendy chemical amusement aids), I had come to the conclusion we were all just scouts sent off from the universal mind and had forgotten we are merely limbs of the same organism. Sadly, I've been too wrapped up in the day-to-day crap of simply surviving here and have yet to break free enough to explore what that really means. Was hoping rereading this would help get me back on track but it seems to have only snagged me on the peripherals. *sigh*
Disappointing. It started awesome, but after chapter nine went fast down hill. At first it seemed to be about how we are all cut from one fabric of consciousness and different levels of awareness, how human beLIEf systems hold us back, how we are really galactic type beings with the potential for great leaps in Consciousness and communication, etc... Good stuff... But then... Then this turns into Jesus fest.
Remove all your identity and free will and be possessed by Jesus. ONLY Jesus is "the way" ... Yet we are all one, galactic, powerful, multidimensional, eternal beings still needing to be threatened with death/punishment... Fear tactics while saying to remove fear? This becomes so hypocritical and ridiculous so quickly. All spoken/channeled as coming from Jesus "himself"... This is more of the same ol' religious propaganda that butters you up and then tries to convert you to yet ANOTHER beLIEf system! And let me not forget to mention how the author said that instead of paying attention to quantum physics we should instead wait for the animals to start literally speaking. What a joke!
Listen, you are Consciousness itself, the expression of UNLIMITED POTENTIAL ITSELF... Do not limit yourself any further by subscribing to these "out there" beings that are geared to getting you to recruit to hivemind possession... There is no one to blame and there is NO ONE to give credit to. There is no one above you or below you. Stop reincarnating on this planet/ in this cell. No one is coming to save you, we are here to save OURSELVES, by walking away from all these ridiculous beLIEf systems that serve to keep you here... When you can go on to do and be ANYTHING.
Excellent writing. When the Christ Consciousness began speaking my mind became blown. I was already pleased with the angelic body information as it gave understanding but then came Christ! Small but powerful looking forward to reading The Third Millennium after meditating on all that The Starseed Transmissions offered.
It takes a leap of instinct to even open a book like this, channelled over a brief period and no doubt coloured by the authors own bias and habits of thinking. For all that, there were some remarkable bits, stuff that really resonated, and I shall write more on this when I have had the chance to brood a bit more.
Short read, but every word is of value. Non dogmatic. Enlightening to read this book during these times. Ken Carey Expresses Christ Consciousness and Evolution very simply. "The law of love is more than a law, it is the way of life."
Ken Carey was one of the clearest transmitters of high-frequency spiritual information I've seen. He was way ahead of his time. Some beautiful phrases and sentences that ring with truth. All 3 of his main books are great.
Starseed begins with a foreword that states the book uses "some" Christian terms to help articulate alien concepts into something more understandable. This is NOT true- This is a religious book. It is an attempt at recontextualizing the book of Revelations. In that same sentiment though, the book's message can be understood in an agnostic manner if you really try (The chapter on how organized religion works against its own message helps, too). Despite this, I like Starseed for the underlying message I got out of it: Live openly in the present moment & love the people around you. Your full potential is buried behind worrying about the past & focusing too much on 'human' matters. Loved it as a pre-sleep meditation moment and have found myself trying to be more grounded. A quote I keep coming back to:
"Your individual birth will take place at the precise moment in linear time when you stop struggling with your rational fear patterns and let yourself go in the divine dance of inner direction. You must decide whether you are going to accept the inevitable in a state of love and prepare yourself accordingly, or hold on in fear to the bitter end".
Wow. I don't know what I was really expecting, when I dug this thin little book out of the back of my closet to finally read. But I certainly never could have imagined what I found.
Ken Carey's "transmission" bridges the divide between science and religion, walking in sync with many other philosophies including Buddhism, The Secret, and self-actualization, etc. I was extremely surprised to find how many of my own half-formed thoughts (often showing up as themes in my writing) strongly mirrored Carey's.
This book is amazing, inspiring, and mind-altering. And definitely very interesting (for me) to realize that this kind of stuff is out there. It's not the kind of thing I would normally read and certainly not seek out. The only thing I would have changed was the length of the direct-address sections near the end of the book. There were just too many of them. I really liked the chapters with the angels, and enjoyed the first few chapters where the pronoun switched to "I". But there were just too many chapters like that, concluding the book, so that things got a bit repetitive.
This is a pretty interesting book - and I'll say I enjoyed it way more the second time around. It's a channeled work, and starts off with the feel of an angelic or star being. Toward the end of the book it's clearly Christ (or the Christ consciousness), but it's always loving, and always striving to remind us we are more than we think, we are connected, and we are loved.
If you have a liberal Christian leaning, this book will probably be very intriguing. The message is a good one, the whole prophecy bend was hard for me to swallow.
I would have given this book 5 stars except the last two chapters really dealt with,Jesus,Christianity and bible themes. I am not a Christian so I found this insignificant to me.
A COMMUNICATON FROM THE ‘ORGAN OF GALACTIC BEING’?
Author Ken Carey wrote in the Introduction to this 1982 book, “It was during a … period of eleven days from December 27, 1978 to January 6, 1979 that the whole of this material was recorded. I have taken the liberty of editing out the repetition ad rearranging it in chapter format, but aside from that, I share it with you as it was first presented to me… I hope the significance of this material is not lost to certain readers because of a reluctance to accept its purported origin… it might be pointed out that the simple act of structuring information in this manner opens up communicative possibilities that are virtually non-existent in a conventional mode…
“The messages came first in non-verbal form, on waves… that carried the concise symbolic content of what I term ‘meta-conceptual information.’ … Often it was the case that the only human conceptual system with approximating terminology was religious. Hence, the occasional use of ‘Christian’ words and phrases. It is not to be assumed that these always imply the usual assortment of meanings that are generally associated with them… The communications that are presented in this book seem to have been transmitted neurobiologically. As I communed with these spatial intelligences… my nervous system seemed to become available to them as a channel for communication… The resulting synthesis provided for a relatively accurate approximation in human language of the awareness they brought.”
The first chapter states, “I come from the Presence where there is no time but the eternal now… I come with a message that will prove vital to you in these final days of your history… When I am no longer needed in this capacity, I will merge back into the Being behind all being… In the interim, there is no distinction between me and the Source. I and others of my kind desire at this time to being humans to this same level of awareness. I am a focus of collective human consciousness…For me to tell you … that I represent an element … of your collective consciousness, would actually be less accurate than to say that I am extraterrestrial. I meet the criteria of the latter term in that I do come from outside your planetary field of influence. I bring instructions to your race from the directive organ of Galactic Being.” (Pg. 3-4)
He says, “It is important that you return to a consciousness of your true self… unconsciousness of your identity with the Creator is cutting off the flow of Life-giving information to the part of you that exists in form. Your existence in identity with God is the reality from which all Life sprints. Focusing your attention exclusively on form greatly restricts, and eventually curtails, the flow of Life currents.” (Pg. 11)
He asks, “How did you lose God-consciousness? How did you ‘fall’ into the illusion of separation?... It was through a simple lack of faith… This was brought about by the entry of a single factor into your existence: fear, the serpent in the Garden, the Devil in history… this being encouraged you to move in a pattern of activity that has come to be called ‘Original Sin.’ … With a clever and subtle lie, you were convinced to not exactly stop trusting in God, but to stop trusting exclusively in God… to begin what was to become a long spiral downward through denser and denser levels … For Satan, your tempter, is the materializing influence … responsible for the bonding of energy in the creation of matter… This process went on for a long while before you actually found yourself in any kind of physical Garden… The physical Garden of Eden lasted for many centuries of Earth time before … you became cut off from the direct nourishment of divine light… In truth, you were never driven from the Garden. The Garden is still there, surrounding you even now… the whole process of the Fall was accompanied by a corresponding fragmentation of your sense of identity, your very sense of self. By the time of the physical Garden of Eden, you were already perceiving yourself to be more than one… Yet, despite all this talk of a Fall and Original Sin, you are not held prisoner by events that transpired in the dim reaches of your collective memory. You are not born into sin. You are born daily into the Presence of God, yet daily … you commit Original Sin; daily you eat of the forbidden fruit… This was… the same hesitation that keeps you now in a fallen state… You are not, in effect, sleeping under the influence of what could almost be seen as a spell, an illusion prevents you from experiencing the clarity of perception that is your natural birthright. Our mission to this planet is to awaken you from sleep by whatever means necessary.” (Pg. 12-15)
He suggests, “At this point in linear time, we are… soon to reach the exact mid-point between the out-breath and the in-breath of God. The universe began to reach this mid-point as unicellular organisms were emerging on the Earth… It will coincide with what has come to be called the Second Coming of Christ...” (Pg. 16) He continues, “Outside of time and space, you are one with the Creator… But when your consciousness moves within the context of a manifest universe, you become the Son, the Christ… you are in fact a single unified being, sharing the full consciousness of the Creator… As the Christ, as the only begotten consciousness of the Father, you have been given a number of remarkable qualities…” (Pg. 17-18)
He predicts, “only a handful of your species are able to conceive of themselves as one consciousness… expressing itself simultaneously through a multitude of apparently separate forms. This will not be the case a decade from now. Ten years from now there will be many working signs and wonder in the name of Christ. Twenty years from now, individual awakenings to the reality of Christ consciousness will be commonplace. Thirty years from now, there will be a sufficient number of healthy functioning holoids to consciously undertake the final cycle of Creation on this level.” (Pg. 29)
He advises, “Do not be concerned with global negativity, but look to yourself, to your children, to your families and communities. There you will find the best news of all---that the time has come, and the Planetary Being of which you are a part is at long last beginning to awaken and throw off the blankets of history.” (Pg. 60)
He states, “Christ is the single unified being whose consciousness all share. He is the being who sacrificed, for a time… and cloaked himself in the matter of a planet that a species might share his life… Christ’s first coming was the first time since life appeared on Earth that the totality of consciousness woke up in the frame of a man. This was Jesus of Nazareth… Christ walked the Earth and began to prepare the human population… After Christ’s ascension, his followers organized his teachings and the story of his life into a book… it proved to be a living bombshell to the world governments that were in power at the time of its release. Satan knew… that if people began acting on the information it contained, his influence would be ended. So he devised a clever scheme… He organized a vast bureaucratic structure around the simple teachings of Jesus… He did not care if everyone worshipped Christ superficially, just so long as they continued to worship material possessions in actual fact… The message of Jesus… became buried under a catalog of religious verbiage and dogmatic interpretation.” (Pg. 66-67)
He says, “I bring a time of action and adventure. Leave your words in history where they properly belong. You have worshipped reason and Satan through them long enough. Look to me this day. I am the light and the truth. I am the Father you have worshipped in heaven, now come to Earth to make my home in your heart.” (Pg. 91-92)
The Afterword cautions, “A more rapid approach would have made your species grow too quickly and split with inner weakness as a fruit tree splits that has been grown in soil with excessive formality. A more rapid approach would have left you with cells that may have been prone to every illness that might be encountered on your travels…” (Pg. 95)
This book was quite popular during the height of the ‘New Age’ movement.
This book is wonderfully inspirational. It seems to me that this notion of being a starseed is a wonderful way of looking down on the battlefield of life (Kurukshetra in the Gita), from the balcony with Jesus. We are learning to reframe it all, and look at it with new eyes.
What do humans, plants, animals, extra terrestrial life forms, God, Jesus, and the universe have in common?
The message in this book is clear and very repetitive: all living and non-living entities on planet Earth and throughout our universe are ONE working organism. The problem is that in a materialistic human society (that has completely isolated itself from the spirit side of being), we go about our lives ignorant of the ties we have with other people and other non-human forms. In my opinion, it is clear that we are connected to all life on Earth. Quick example: Trees breathe in when we breathe out. When our mortal life is spent, we become fertilizer for plants that feed prey that feed predators that eventually die and thus life energy is never truly spent because the cycle is ceaseless.
This book highlights what true Christianity looks like- love and acceptance- while explaining the false Christianity that drives a materialistic society. The end message: communicate with your heart because reason and logic don't always provide a true answer.
This was an unique little book. It dealt with consciousness, morality, and humanity. It sounded like many Buddhist ideas expressed using Christian terminology. But many aspects were exclusive to this book, or at least from the books that I have read. Some parts were really beautiful, but I think I disagreed with more than I agreed. But, a very interesting thought experiment.
Edit: read this book again for a second time, finishing on 3/16/25. Bumping it up a star, to 5. Not because I agree with everything, but because reading it the second time I realized how much it has influenced my thought. Specific ideas, turns of phrases, conceptual images, and sometimes even beliefs. Going to have to reread it periodically. One of the repeat reads to put in rotation. Definitely have a different opinion than the first time I read it; but have also read more books between then and now and have developed as a person. Again, don't agree with everything, and wouldn't reccomend it to everyone. But impactful to me personally.
First in a series of four books, this is a channeled book from more evolved non-physical entities from the 1980s about the coming human evolutionary quantum leap. Fascinating, and probably true.
What a disappointment, I think whoever in Sedona who stocked this in the New Age bookstore really did not read it before putting this in the Starseed section.
I just read the entire book this morning.
All it is is Jesus this and Christianity that. This belonged in the Christianity section. If you notice, in the earlier editions, it claims to be extraterrestrial and it doesn't in the later editions. Probably because people were on to him.
I am not Christian, I do not want to read a book on Christianity. There is no Starseed information anywhere in this book. I really hoping that the next book I read on Starseeds actually have something to do with the topic.
Additionally, hopefully, the next book I read on the topic won't be written in 11 days. Seriously...
I normally keep every book about New Age topics that I come across, this one is about to find itself on paperbackswap.
Dnf. There aren’t tons of texts on starseeds so I was looking forward to reading this. I made it about 25% through but once fear was being exercised and mention of the Christian devil came up, the energy shifted. On top of that, and all the love to the guy narrating, but his voice isn’t the vibe. All of this has it feeling like a conversion fest with a robotic futuristic voice, as if the author is trying to bridge Christians with starseeds. No doubt that someone can be both a starseed and Christian, but there’s a huge contrast between someone awakening and someone being persuaded into converting. This feels icky. And I saw that another reviewer mentioned this isn’t even the original channeled message? I get to do my due diligence, but I feel duped. If it’s true, not cool, author.
This book came highly recommended by one of my favorite spiritual leaders so I read it. It's a bit dated at this point. It reads like predictions channeled from the beyond, but all of those messages are all over YouTube and social media at this point. So it's old news. It's a valuable book to read. Reminders are always beneficial. I did have to look past the Christian interpretations, as I'm a bit averse to modern Christianity. I intend to read the next book of Ken Carey's soon.
A very powerful book that will make your soul feel seen in ways you didn’t know possible. As someone who believes in our cosmic ancestors, this book felt like a hug. It was so divine to read what I’ve always known.
The truth is that I would have given this more stars when I first read it. At that time, I found it very inspiring. The book predicted a major spiritual shift in the world in the year 2011 that certainly didn't seem to happen. I haven't reread it - I'm wondering if those predictions were removed.
I like how the book describes full details on how love the Lord wholeheartedly!! Following the rules of this book will definitely have you living a Christian lifestyle…
