Out of all the Fame School series, the ones I remember most profoundly is Rising Star and Secret Ambition .

This one I remember purely because of the suspense at the point the crew are trying to help our main character find her voice again. For a younger young adult book, Jeffries really, really built up and horrifying situation with a lot of suspense. I thought I was about to cry when I got to the last 20% of the book -- if you've read it and remember it, you know exactly what I'm talking about. I'm still surprised that part was allowed in!

This was a brilliant read when I was younger, and I'm sure if I read it again now it would still be 3/4 stars I would give it. If you like simpler writing, a music boarding school (UtaPri anyone>), sweet characters, and simpler books for younger readers, I definitely recommend this one. I would love to read this whole series from start to finish all over again. It was stunning and a great part of my childhood.

I would recommend this book because it is relly interesting.
It is about a girl called Chloe that mde it into a talent acedemy which is called Rockley Park school. This is her first step on the road to become a pop singer. She is desperate to perform at the schools risng star concert, shes heard that talent scouts often turn up fm the big record companies but shes got one problem....she cant find her voice! Chloes freinds run around adn try to help her get the power back in her voice, but time is running out!
So if you ever find this book you should read it because i think oyu would find it quit interesting

I'll give this book 3.5 stars..
And that because it's a very good book, I liked that Chloe didn't get to the show because her voice was so quiet. It would be boring if there would'nt happen anything and all goes fine and so...

I kinda wanted to smack Chloe because she was being ridiculous for half the book. There will be other concerts! Just 'cause you can't sing in the first concert of the first year at your school, it doesn't mean your career is ruined. Gawsh.

Did everything feel this dramatic when I was a teen?

The ending was satisfying though, I like that Chloe doesn't end up performing.

Two stars because Chloe was annoying and because the writing is a bit clunky.

I wanted to read about kids playing music in my teens, and this was the only series I could find in my library, but I suppose it did its job.
