Secure Decision is the fifth instalment in the Chase Security series by R.L Dunn. This is a wonderful addition to the series- another romantic suspense, with drama, danger, emotion, sizzle, angst, trauma, (possible) triggers, family, friendship, secrets, suspense, intrigue, missing women, a body count, veterans, equine therapy, and elite operatives. Wes has just returned from a difficult mission, the events of which he has yet to fully process. He won’t get a chance regroup and recover from that ordeal as an important assignment has him back in the swing of things overseeing this latest mission. But when a body is discovered- things take a dramatic turn. Although this could be read as a standalone, I really recommend reading the previous books before diving into this one, as the other books will help lay foundations (with important information, overlapping details, and character introductions) that will enhance your reading experience of this book. As expected from Ms. Dunn, the story is really well developed- with fantastic characters, gripping scenes, and all the palpable tension and suspense that I have come to expect from her work. #mustread
Secure Decision (Chase Security Series Book 5) by R.L. Dunn - Review by Gail Guerrero
Five stars
I love this series. The men and their women. The fight and drive the put in when it’s right. I wanted to yell at Wes. Be greedy we only have this one life take what you want within reason lol. The story was so relatable. I know me and a few friends suffer with body image issues. No matter how much we try to encourage each other and ourselves. So everything Eleanor felt I completely understood. I have enjoyed every book in this series. The leads are always amazing in their own way. They go through so much to get where they’re needed. Definitely recommend hopping in this series.
This is a book only for those over 18 due to its themes of an adult nature and adult contents.
This installment of the Chase Security International series is the story of We “Alamo” Crockett, he is a medically trained ex Navy Combat Medic who has now transferred that to being a Paramedic and the head of the newest Chase Centre for Training in Virginia and is working all hours of the day to prepare for the Centres opening while meeting all the new employees and running the orientations and overseeing the security of the plot of land which the Centre is built on. When he receives a call regarding a friend, he immediately accepts him in a role at the facility, knowing that it will help the both of them as he is on point with his work no matter what is happening around him and Wes needs someone he can fully trust to take on some of the responsibilities associated with running the Centre.
As he is going into the centre of town to drop off some paperwork, he finds that a car has been in an accident on the property and is currently wrapped around a tree with a woman with a head full of blonde curly hair bleeding and injured within it, that woman is Eleanor West, the new Director of the Equine-Assisted Therapy Programme and she is heading to the Centre for her first day on the job, however, when she sees a cow in the middle of the road, she screeches to a halt to try and avoid it, however, she hits the tree instead because of the rain slicked road surface. As Wes is tending to her, bandaging her eyes, hooking her up to a drip and talking to her the whole time while waiting for the emergency services he has called to aid him, they don't know who the other is, however, they soon realise it when she is taken to the hospital for treatment. She is clearly terrified and uncomfortable with certain aspects of the treatment, however, she feels comfortable with the man who rescued her and he looks after her as best he can and this includes taking her to stay in a room in his home overnight so he can check in on her concussion and other injuries. As she recovers, Eleanor continues to feel comfortable with Wes, however, she feels like she doesn’t stand a chance because of her looks and some of the snide remarks she begins hearing when she goes to settle into her accommodations thanks to the rumours which start flying around after her stay in the boss’s home, what she doesn’t know is that Wes is feeling the same way about her, with her curves, wit, dedication to her job and personality, he is finding it hard to resist her charms.
As the week progresses and the Centre is closer to opening up, tensions mount when the snide comments and rumours cause friction within the therapy team as they don’t believe she can do the job, however, when she takes charge of the situation and makes changes to the team, she proves that she can and will do what is needed for both the horses and the future patients. Meanwhile, a gruesome discovery is made on the property line and this leads to an investigation and stress of a completely different kind when it appears that the curvaceous blonde he is developing feelings involved appears to be attached to it and as the two become closer, Eleanor has to make the decision whether to share her past with Wes or to just tie up loose ends and do what she always has done and run away. Will Eleanor be able to overcome her anxiety and body image issues to open herself and her secrets up to a possible future with Wes and can he keep his feelings for Eleanor separate from the investigation into the discovery of a web of secrets and lies surrounding the Centre? This is a romantic suspense with plenty of heart, it will draw you in and keep you reading to the conclusion to find out which of the possibilities come to pass.
Having read and thoroughly enjoyed the previous four books in this series I was really looking forward to this latest novel and was definitely not disappointed. As usual with a ‘Chase Security Series’ book I was hooked from start to finish. Although part of a series this can be read as a standalone story although some of the characters do crossover as the series follows the Chase brothers and their team. In this novel it’s the Senior Executive for Chase Security International, Wes ”Alamo” Crockett’s story. Wes is a Combat Medic and nationally registered Paramedic who has just taken over the Chase Centre for Training in Virginia. Wes is suffering with self doubt over a previous tough mission in New York but has to put his feelings aside to oversee operations including a equine-assisted therapy program for disabled veterans. It’s here where Wes meets the new Director of Equine-Assisted Therapy, Eleanor West. When a body is found in a cabin on the training centres property Wes has to investigate as well as being assigned to a case involving women being kidnapped, so he definitely does not have time to find himself attracted to Eleanor. Eleanor is also fighting the chemistry between her and her boss as she’s just started a new job and is hoping for a new start after years of running and hiding her painful secrets. However when these secrets endanger those she cares about Eleanor has to make a difficult decision and may have to put her own life at risk to end her nightmare. Meanwhile, Wes must choose between gaining Eleanor’s trust and helping her and the missing women’s case. This exciting and engaging novel is fast paced and full of drama, suspense and of course romance. The main characters Wes and Eleanor are likeable and realistic and their chemistry really sizzled off the page. I particularly liked that Eleanor is a curvaceous women and her negative body image made her very relatable and was written about in a sensitive way. This is a great addition to the series and I recommend not only this book but the previous four as well. I look forward to book six in the series.
When you are running for your life but hiding in plain sight can this continue or will you be found out, that is what Elle is trying to determine. If she takes this job can she still stay hidden.
Elle is running from her past which she wants to keep very well hidden, but she has an opportunity to become Director of Equine therapy at a brand new training facility but she is worried that her past may come to find her as she always is changing to a new location. Although she is trying to survive in walks a man who she has instant attraction to but can she stay away or risk him knowing her past and history.
Wes works for Chase Security as one of the Executive team but coming back from a mission which he can't quite shake, he throws himself into the new venture of the training facility but when he meets the newest Director will he be able to keep the relationship professional, but when a body if found in a cabin on the edge of the facility, can he investigate and find out who he was or why he's dead?
This is the fifth book in the series and although you could read the story as a stand alone, although I would recommend reading the series to just understand the dynamic of these beautiful men and their ladies.
The story draws you in from the first paragraph with the interactions between Wes and Elle are hot and smouldering. I loved the way that these two characters needed each other at the greatest time in their lives and with both having flaws it just makes these two characters more interesting to read. The twists and turns with in the story will have you reading this story with out a breathe but with Elle's history and past you will be wondering how this beautiful woman is still so open and caring is wonderful to read. The characters are well written and I would love to be friends with these people.
I can't recommend this series enough, you will not be disappointed and I can't wait for the next book in this wonderful series.
Secure Decision is the fifth book in R.L Dunn’s Chase Security universe. Please, start from the beginning as I feel that every book is somehow linked to the previous book (even if timeline at times does not really express it) and you will be meeting the characters you meet from one book to the other AND you want to know their stories! Secure Decision gives us Wes “Alamo” Crockett’s story and we have been waiting for it for a while, since Iowa (I told you, you need to read the books in order) and I absolutely loved Ellie for him and him for Ellie. I should no longer be surprised how the writer tells stories that touch upon really sensitive and profound topics and how they make you think and wonder whether you had just read or seen something that had traces of her story … Wes and Ellie’s story will leave you at the edge of your seat and I could not put it down once I started, well until I could no longer keep my eyes open as I was silly and started the story in the evening and did not plan a day to give myself time to simply live it through in one breath … you will want to do it … The stories in Chase Security series are books that at times make me afraid to turn a page, I think I know what is coming and I know it is heartbreaking so I do not want to face it but I know I need to as it all needs to happen in order to create this beautiful complex tapestry called life (even if it is fictional). I also know that they will make it to the other side as they have the ‘family’ that will always have their back! I cannot wait for the next story … I just know that Troy and Gwen’s will be a hard one …
Wes "Alamo" Crockett has just taken over the training center in Leesburg, Virginia. After a body is found in a cabin on the edge of Chase Securitys newly acquired property, Wes is assigned to a case of kidnapped and missing women. His first meeting with Eleanor, his new Director of Equine-Assisted Therapy, was not under very good circumstances. He finds himself drawn to this kind hearted woman as he spends time helping to care for her after her accident. He can tell she has a history as she seems to be afraid of him, which is the last thing he wants. Can he gain her trust? And in the meantime will he be able to figure out who is responsible for the missing women?
Eleanor West has a not so great history. The self image she has of herself isn't a good one due to things that have happened in her past. When she is hurt in an accident on her way to the first day at her new job she meets Wes. She doesn't realize he is her boss and finds herself attracted to him. Since Wes is helping to care for her rumors have started amongst her colleagues that she is getting preferential treatment. She has many secrets that she doesn't want out in the open, but Wes makes her feel comfortable enough to want to share. Will she be able to trust him with her deepest darkest secrets?
I love this series! Every story has its own unique twist and they all have been able to find their happiness in the end. These books are always hard to put down once you have started them. Kudos to the author on another great book.
Secure Decision by R.L. Dunn is book five of the Chase Security series. This book can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read any other books in the series yet but didn’t lose any of the experience. This book was so good that I am going to go back to the beginning and read them all!
Wes is back after a tough mission in New York. He doesn’t have time to process his thoughts on that because he jumps into taking over training in Virginia. The last thing he expects to find himself doing is leading an investigation on missing women. He’s still reeling after everything else, he’s not sure he can handle everything now. As if his cup isn’t already running over, Wes can’t help how drawn he is to Eleanor. Eleanor is starting over. Equine-assisted therapy at the Chase Center is where she’s going to attempt to do that. She never expected to meet Wes but she has to resist at all costs. There are lots of secrets between them. Can Wes and Eleanor lay it all on the line?
There is a lot of suspense and mystery in this book and it most definitely keeps you intrigued. I couldn’t put it down! Eleanor is much like any woman in regards to her negative body image which makes her very relatable as a character. I really enjoyed both Wes and Eleanor and was rooting for them the whole time! Can’t wait to read more of the series!
Secure Decision Chase Security Series Book 5 By R. L. Dunn ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ This is a full length Suspenseful Romance. I hope you are following this series, as I am. I recommend you start at book 1. Not for those under 18, due to the adult theme.
Wes, Senior Executive for Chase Security has helped build the Center for Training in Virginia. Eleanor is the Director of the Equine Assisted Therapy at the same center. One accident has set their world in a tailspin. Leaving quite a few unanswered questions. Secrets threaten this couple as well as daily deadly incidents. The missing women and children need to be rescued. Some left dead or near death. It is a must to get the center ready before the arrival of new clients. Will Wes and Eleanor be ready? Better yet will they survive the threat that is after them? Most of all, will they get the romance they are trying to avoid?
R. L. Dunn has done it again! She has set this story up in the first chapter and kept you at the edge of your seat. This fast paced story keeps the roller coaster dropping. Along with the many emotions that will keep the story alive. The characters are both self reliant and strong. Their willpower is non stop. Every book in this series has something new for the readers to read. New highly intense adventures and romance is what is in this story. Well Done R. L. Dune! Well Done!
While this story had a LOT of twists and turns and intrigue I did struggle quite a bit. The character list is extensive and most of the characters have three names they go by. Its a challenge to follow the main story when all are used along with the quantity. Speaking of the main story…its a doozie. I loved the idea of horse therapy facility especially for vets. This seems a minor plot point. As with most Chase Securities stories there is something bigger brewing.
I think my favorite character in here is Troy “Greece” Bremen. He has been a minor through the last couple books and in here he had a little larger role. I enjoy watching his changes and growth through his recuperation. Wes and Eleanor are both fine but they both are harboring secrets and are very intensely involved in the drama and chaos which is too much for me.
Overall this is a good story if you enjoy lots of action, suspense, drama and twists and turns like I haven't seen in a while. This can be read as a stand alone but there are a few references to past books. I did enjoy where the title comes from and the actual journey that the MC’s took. I just had a few issues with this one and didn't feel the connection between the MC because there was so much going on.
This book focuses on Wes. Wes is opening up a new facility and is about to meet all of his new employees. However, his introduction to Eleanor comes a little earlier than expected due to accident. As the facility gets ready to open, Wes must deal with employees who are immature and bullies, his best friend who is still healing from his injuries, and his new equine therapist who he is developing feelings for.
Ellie is ready to start her new job doing what she loves. Although she doesn't make the first impression on her new boss that she would want to, she is excited to work with the horses and help the vets that will come through the program. However, her past secrets are starting to catch up to her and she doesn't know who she can trust anymore. When her trust is broken this time...she may have to run.
There is a lot going on in this book. The secret that Eleanor is hiding comes out in pieces and kept my attention the entire time. I enjoyed the interaction with all of the different characters. Getting Troy's backstory made me want to read his book when it comes out. Overall, another good story in the series!
This is the 5th book in the Chase Security series and I loved it, 5 stars. I was pulled in right from the beginning. I was excited to finally get Wes’s story.
Ellie is excited to be starting a new job working with horses and doing equine therapy. She does have a past that she is trying to get away from, so she has some pretty big walls up.
Wes is part of Chase Security and had a mission that really affected him. Trying to move on from the mission he focuses on the new equine therapy. When he meets Elle he is instantly drawn to her. When there is a scary twist it changes things pretty quickly, will Wes be able to solve the crime and keep everyone safe?
Overall I really enjoyed this book, you can feel the attraction between the characters. And the twists and turns will keep you on your toes. I really enjoyed their story, the author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. I felt like I had a couple of different stories going on, which I really enjoy. Each book can be read as a stand alone but I suggest reading from book one. We get drama, suspense, secrets and so much more. 1-click and get started today.
Talk about a well written book. R.L. Dunn knocks it of the park. She has the story done in a way that draws you into the story and the characters. She has characters from the past and new ones. She deals with issues that are current and can be painful. She shows you that family doesn't have to be blood. I like how she puts a depth in the story that gives you insight to things that are happening today. You get to see what veterans are living with and some of the help they get. You also get to see the special bond these brothers in arms form. Just a warning if you ever were a victim of violence in anyway be aware that there is some touchy sections in this book. It's worth a read as a survivor I can say the book is well done. It's not always easy to read but it's worth it. Wes and Ellie are strong characters in this story. They have had things to deal with which has made stronger as a person and as a couple. The support shown is special to see. After each book I get an appreciation for a book well done. I'm looking forward to the next one which is Troy's story. J
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Secure Decision is book 5 in the Chase Security series by R.L. Dunn. It is the first book in the series and the first book by R.L. Dunn that I have read. I was totally sucked into this story. It is a romance but it is so much more. There is a mysterious group, intrigue, fanatical people, arson, dead bodies, missing women, broken people struggling and animals. I will say there are a lot of characters with histories, so many in fact I kind of gave up trying to keep them all straight. Plus in addition to their real names they have code names and they are used throughout as well. I don't want to discourage anyone with this. Maybe I had this issue since this is my first book in the series but I will remedy that shortly. Nonetheless the story had me in its grips and I had to keep reading.
I am not going to summarize the story because quite frankly no summary will explain the complexity of multiple story arcs. I will leave it that I recommend this book. Read it! You won't be disappointed.
This is the fifth book in this series. I enjoyed this book as much as the previous books which I highly suggest reading as they are just as great. This series just keeps getting better and better with each book. This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. I am pulled into her stories with ease and kept engaged to the end. This book is no different. This is a well written story that has characters that make the story pop to life. They are relatable and strong. I enjoyed watching the growth with them and they just made the story for me. This is a story about Eleanor and Wes. Eleanor is looking for a new start which is when she takes a position in the Chase Center. What she wasn’t expecting to find is Wes and the attraction she feels for him. What will happen when she is faced with making a decision that could cost her more than her life? This is truly a great story and if made for such a great afternoon read. I highly recommend this book.
Secure Decision is the 5th book in the excellent Chase Security Series by R.L. Dunn. I have absolutely adored this series so far and this book was just as good, if not better then the others before it. Secure Decision is an excellent romantic suspense novel. I love a good romance story but R.L. Dunn takes them to another level by adding the suspense, intrigue and danger that make this book a page turner. I was totally hooked from the very first pages right up to the very end. You are taken on the most amazing roller coaster journey that brings out every emotion. I loved the 2 main characters Wes and Eleanor. One thing I personally loved is that Eleanor is a larger, curvier lady with insecurities about her size. In most romance novels the main female is slim with a gorgeous body but I love that R.L. Dunn chose to have a leading lady with a larger body. I also loved how Wes loved her curves and made every attempt to tell her and show her how alluring and sexy he found her body. One thing I mention with with every review from this series is that I’m amazed that R.L. Dunn can keep up with all the characters. The cast list is very extensive and at times I had to stop and think who some characters were (especially as some we using more then one name!!). This doesn’t affect my enjoyment of the book as it’s an amazing story with amazing characters. I’m just in awe of how the author manages to keep track of all the characters. I’ve loved this series so far and hope that there is much more to come from it. I’m especially desperate to get Troy’s story. That man definitely needs a HEA.
Secure Decision is Book 5 in the series. Each book is great on its own and doesn’t not need to be read in order but it makes sense if you can to do so.
West Crockett is running the new training facility and has so much on his plate when he meets Ellie. He saves her from a car wreck and immediately the chemistry is there. However, Wes is one of Ellie’s bosses so how is that going to play out? Ellie West is now running the Equine Therapy Program. She hits a lot of bumps in the the road. People working under her try to bully her and make fun of her and how she got her position but that’s the least of her worries.
Ellie is running from a very crazy and dangerous past. Can she outrun her past or has it caught up with her? Will she be able to walk away safe and sound? Then there is also Wes....will he be able to safe Ellie from her crazy past and save himself too? This book has everything you could want in a great read. Action....lots of action, suspense, great friendships, romance and a great storyline.
Secure Decision (Chase Security Series Book 5) by R.L Dunn
This is a great read by Dunn. Secure Decision has to be my favorite one out of the Chase Security Series. Wes and Ellie make such a damn cute couple.
Eleanor has a dark past and secrets that she wants to keep to herself. When an accident causes her to be late she meets her boss. Soon the attraction becomes deadly. The quote I chose for Eleanor is: “Did I tell you to stop? Your mouth on my body is like electric shocks. You have no need to apologize. You let go. You let yourself feel good.”
Wes didn't think he'd ever find love. When he comes upon an accident scene he finds his love. Curly is the nickname he gives her and he tells her he won't leave her side. Things go down and things happen that could kill them both. The quote I chose for Wes is: “No, not at all. I was thinking… what would you like to name the horses? We made sure we placed them in a stall with an open gated wall. They are inseparable.”
Secure Decision by RL Dunn is the 5th book in the Chase Security series, each book follows a different member of the team and can be read as a stand alone however I find it easier to keep track of who everyone is, as I have read each book in sequence. Secure Decision follows Wes, a Chase Security Exec who has been tasked with opening and running the companies newest training centre, and Eleanor, who is hired as the head of the equine therapy team. Unfortunately, she is also on the run from her past and it seems that it is starting to catch up with her. When bodies start showing up on the grounds and the team is targeted by outside subjects it becomes difficult for the team to know who to trust. I really liked all the books in this series so far, but this one might be my favourite. It is fast paced, and action packed with a bit of romance thrown in too. It makes you really care for the characters and you find yourself cheering them on. I highly recommend to fans of this genre.
Secure Decision by R.L. Dunn is the fifth book in the Chase Security Series. These can be read in any order but I highly recommend reading them in order, because the various characters make appearances throughout. This book focuses on Wes "Alamo" Crockett, who is now in charge of the Training Center in Virginia. He's coming off of a mission in New York and not feeling spectacular. The exciting part of his new assignment is the Equine Training Center for disabled veterans. Eleanor West is the lead on the new equine center and has her own past to bear. I really enjoyed both characters and the storyline. Eleanor was relatable and made me want to hug her. I really wanted the best outcome for her as well as Alamo. These books are full of action, suspense, and of course romance. This book didn't disappoint and left me wanting more like the rest of the series. I look forward to reading more in this series and from the author soon.
Secure Decision (Chase Security Series Book 5) by R.L. Dunn. I love this series and I really enjoyed this book! This is the 5th book in the Chase Security Series and its just as good as all the others if not better! Its the story of Wes who is a Chase Security Exec and he's just returned from a tough mission in New York so he's looking forward to some down time but that doesn't come! Ellie is running from her past so when she has a chance to be the Equine Therapy Director at a brand new training facility she jumps on it. Wes is assigned to the Equine Therapy Center and when he meets Ellie is instantly attracted. Their chemistry is off the charts. When trouble comes to find Ellie Wes is there in a heartbeat to protect her. When a body is found in a cabin close to the Equine Center's property Wes gets involved to find out what is going on but his number one mission is to protect Ellie. This book has tons of romance and lots of mystery. A great read!
Secure Decision, book five in the Chase Security series is one of the most suspenseful and gripping romances I have ever read. R. L. Dunn wove an intricate tale of intrigue and drama that held me totally mesmirised. I was instantly enamoured by Wes and Eleanor and their journey. This story had so much that appealed to me. I love horses, love anything military and I absolutely adore a hard fought love story. Insecurity, danger, passion and mystery were just a pinch of what this story delivered. Eleanor had her demon's to slay and Wes was the perfect man to ease the way. The emotion between them was its own being. So big and all consuming. It was easy to become one with this story, blissfully ignorant of all that was going on around me.You know you have a winning read when you are oblivious. Secure Decision was one of the best suspenseful romances. The delivery was on point. Well done, R. L. Dunn. 5 stars.
This is book 5 in the Chase Security Series and just like previous books we are taken on a journey involving danger, trafficking and a man who will stop at nothing to protect what's his. I loved this story. The main character Wes is strong and well trained as we have come to expect but he also has a softer side which is endearing and you can't help fall in love with him. Our leading lady Ellie is a fighter. She has a history she is trying to escape from and like most women she has insecurities about her body and about how people see her. Together their relationship is beautiful and becomes something powerful. As well as the romance there is also danger when a body is found on the Chase Security property who did it and could that be someone who is out to get Ellie? Is it someone from her past or a new enemy and can they find out who before its too late. The journey keeps you guessing and wondering who you can actually trust.
The basis for this story is evil and ugly but unfortunately happens all too often but above all of the betrayal and abuse this is a love story full of twists and turns and exciting plot twists. Ellie and Wes are so good together and so supportive of each other. That Ellie has survived at all is remarkable and testament to her strength. That she is such a sweetheart having gone through everything she has and still become an incredible therapist is amazing she has been betrayed so many times by those who should protect her. The Chase team are her salvation and it was wonderful to see Troy other than over a video link. Wes is a rock and I honestly don’t know when he gets any sleep and yet he takes care of Ellie and runs the training centre, watches over Troy and puts his paramedic skills to good use. The ending was beautiful and now I can’t wait for Troy’s story.
Secure Decision is the fifth book in the Chase Security series. I highly recommend reading the first four as they are all entertaining. This author is one of few authors I will grab knowing that there will be a great story. Her writing style is so masterful it takes me for a ride-along with the characters in the story. Speaking of characters, they are fully developed and complex. They bring the story to life. I feel like I am friends with the characters and I can influence them through the story. There is a bit of a roller coaster ride for Elenor and Wes, the main characters. In this story, Wes and Elenor have some big decisions to make. I highly recommend this story to see how Elenor and Wes work through their thoughts and decisions. A little warning, you may want to start reading this when you have enough time to finish the entire story in one sitting.
5 Stars Secure Decision (Chase Security Series Book 5) by R.L. Dunn
Secure Decision is the fifth book in the Chase Security Series by R.L Dunn. This is a wonderfully written Romantic Suspense that had me hooked from the beginning and kept me turning the pages till the end. I highly recommend reading this series in order only because its such a fantastic series I mean who doesn’t love Hot sexy men ? . This is Wes and Ellie's story .He is in charge of opening the new training center for Chase International and she has recently accepted a position to be the head of the Equine therapy department. Bless her heart from the very beginning trouble started and Wes was pretty much pulled right in. They both have issues and secrets. Find out what happens next in this must read. This author has quickly become one of my favorite and I cant wait to read more from her.
This continuation of the series is just as good as the others! There is so much going on in this story - suspense, intrigue, romance, humor, and all the feelings! Wes is in charge of opening the newest training center for Chase International and Ellie is coming on to be the head of the equine therapy department. Her trouble starts from the very beginning. Wes is immediately drawn to her and gets pulled into her trouble as well.
The story perfectly blends all of the elements and keeps you hooked until the very end. The witty banter between all the characters brings in some humor and shows the love from all that work with Chase International and the bond they all share. Another wonderful addition to the series!
I have really enjoyed this series and I was really looking forward to reading this the fifth book and I wasn’t disappointed. It had the wonderful characters I expected and the exciting storyline I have come to love from these books. I really like the authors writing, I find the stories easy to read and the pace and flow is excellent – I’m engaged the whole way through. For me, I feel like this is my favourite book from the series, I had such a connection with Eleanor, she was so relatable to me, I felt like I really empathised with the her and the things she went through. I really liked Wes too and I’ve been waiting for his story to pop up! Overall a wonderful story with great characters! A definite must read!
R.L. Dunn did an amazing job when writing this book. I had troubles putting it down! Dunn's ability to make me feel like I not only know the military-type terms and situations but also medical situations was outstanding. I really felt like I was there with the characters seeing everything unfold. As soon as I met Ellie, I was hooked! She is such a relatable character in so many different ways. As Wes' character developed alongside her, I fell in love with the two. Several times I wanted to yell at Wes and Ellie! I felt their frustrations as they went through daily work life at the Chase Center for Training as well as personal life struggles. The book is a stand alone, but I am definitely going back to read the previous books of this series!
I absolutely fell in love with Wes and Eleanor from the start. I can definitely say it was a whirlwind from their first meeting. The intense feeling between the two will grip at your heart from the start. The way the author flowed in different side characters and their stories within the main just adds so much more to the story. You begin to feel the relationships Eleanor and Wes have yourself. This story packs a punch. Don't go in just looking for romance. There is so much more and it is wonderful!! I could not put this book down! I believe this can be read as a stand alone but I definitely suggested starting from the first in the series. You won't regret it!! It will keep you on your toes and keep you wanting more. I cannot wait till the next book!
