Daniel Pierce lives in Wyoming with his wife Marissa and their two dogs. After fourteen years as an engineer, Daniel decided it was finally time to write and release his first novel.
As a lifelong fan of scifi and fantasy, he wants nothing more than to share his passion.
Imagine taking that giant leap for mankind and finding out that there is already something ahead of you. Lt. Deacon Gray is an Extant shock trooper, an elite soldier on a shakedown cruise of an advanced spaceship. It was to be only a month in duration with a return to Earth with a report of what is "out there". Returning to a devastated and infected Earth, Lt. Gray integrates with the remnant human population in orbit and on Earth to take a stance against the alien invaders. This is an amalgamation of all of those 50's B movies mixed with the Star trekesque shows that somehow morbidly catches the attention and does not let go! Cannot wait for the next book!
But still awesome. There was all of the action and high quality story development that you love and expect from Pierce but it has a little less detail of the adult variety this time. Seems like it may have some later. Who knows. Either way,I think it's a great book and I think I will enjoy it with or without those scenes. Great job
2.5 stars okay story, very gory and massive loss of life. Cool armor on the MC, but hard to get into the book due to everyone that we meet except the MC and 2-3 others dying shortly after meeting them. Interesting concept for the aliens and I was liking the action, but not as enjoyable as others portrayed. Not interested in a sequel.
The story is good, but I'm not sure why this is on a litRPG list. The only game elements came from the guys armor giving the guy enemy stats and damage reports. There wasn't any leveling or character progression that would make the story anything more than a military SciFi.
