A Handbook for Living in Turkey unravels the mysteries of being a foreign resident in a country whose language and culture can seem strange or confusing. From choosing where to live to navigating the Turkish education system, this book examines every aspect of daily life in Turkey and offers practical ideas for making it easier. Chapters contain helpful word lists and the appendices are a wealth of addresses and contact details.
Very handy if you happen to be about to live in Turkey. A good bit of the book doesn't apply to us since we're military and won't be doing things like buying a home or getting married, but it was helpful in many other aspects (i.e., in the clothes section, it tells you what phrase to look for in the shop window to find plus-size clothing, since the largest size most stores carry is roughly a size 10).
