Rate this book
A veteran hunter. An unimaginable world filled with monsters and magic. Destiny awaits.

When fate brought me to the fantasy world of Aurilon, I thought I'd seen everything.

If I only knew how wrong I was. Now, I’ve discovered monsters are real, they’re stunningly beautiful, and they need my help.
In this world, men’s cores are cursed, preventing them from cultivating and achieving incredible power. Fortunately, I’m not from this world.

With several amazing monster girls at my side, I'll forge a new destiny and ascend to heights I’d only ever dreamed of.
But first, I must create a safe haven in the wilds to protect those who have been hunted for far too long.

My greatest challenge lies ahead.

Spirit to cultivate. Monster girls to rescue. Skills to increase.

And a boatload of enemies to eliminate.

I’ve never come back from a hunt empty-handed, and I’m not about to start now.

This one started off really good and then fizzled for me. The MC is an avid hunter and owns his own hunting lodge where he takes rich people out to find game. He is a skilled hunter, tracker and survivalist. While he is out setting up for the opening of the season, he meets a young woman who is being chased by other hunters and is hurt. This is no ordinary woman though, she is a satyr. He helps her escape by taking her through a portal she knows about. He now find himself in a new world. The kind of world where every type of creature exists. He ends up bonding to this satyr through sex and gains the ability to cultivate. He is the only human in the last 100 years who has that ability. The monsters of this world are being hunted by the King's men and that is why the satyr crossed to our world looking for help. Her sister have been taken and she needs help. That's a pretty good setup and I was interested in where this one went. We finally have a MC that already has the skills to kick some ass in this new world and isn't just someone with "gaming experience". Unfortunately, the MC doesn't use any of his tracking or hunting skills. He has a rifle and knows how to shoot but he isn't the only one with guns. The cultivation part was laughably pathetic. I guess the author thought he could make this a cultivation novel simply by using the words culviation, core and energy and that's all it took. No. You need a little more than that. Then the way the story went kind of made me a little upset I won't be continuing the series.

This started well, and the MC seemed to have promise as a sensible type who could get things done.

Well, not so much. He doesn't have the brains that the gods gave a left-handed screwdriver when it comes to dealing with enemies, letting too many of them live and giving up the advantage in kinetic situations. He also has a semi-hidden location with a constant stream of visitors coming through, a massive security risk.

You may accept this a necessary risk for economic reasons, but without spoiling too much let's just say that he didn't take enough precautions. As for his nemesis, Striker, there is nothing that annoys me more than the villain who won't die.

I may give the next one a try, but if the MC half-asses it in that book I'll drop it in frustration.

This is just poor writing.

The story is mediocre at best. The characters are flat and there actions have no motivation. Everything just happens, but none of it makes sense. The poachers, the main character, the merchant. No one acts in a realistic manor. This is an easy idea badly filled out.

This is pretty bad after starting pretty good

First 60 to 70% of this book is very good. Well written, pretty good outline on a pretty basic fantasy world. It's got some interesting things going on, but nothing original. But it seems to be doing the normal tropes pretty well.

However, every single encounter with the villain of this book, for the last 30% or so, just steadily makes this book worse and worse and worse, until the ending when we get a terribly unsatisfying non-ending. Where we're obviously just going to have the same guy show up again later and do the exact same thing, and that's going to repeat probably until the very end of a third book, where he finally dies and they try to call this a trilogy.

I'm giving it three stars because I don't give books I review less than that, just to help promote indie authors, this guy needs to practice his conflict writing is significantly more in fanfic style writings, on Royal road and stuff, before publishing though. It is not even close to ready for publication yet.
I'm sure they'll be plenty of teenage boys that think this is a great book because they're sex in it, but if you're an adult, this is going to leave a very bad taste in your mouth, and it makes me feel like I wasted an hour and a half of my life reading it.

But like I said everything was fine until the ending. But every single thing about the ending was bad. The conflicts themselves, how they interacted with each other, how suddenly and out of nowhere stupid the main character became, how naive the main character is about every in person he encounters, the Random magical invulnerability of the villain, the villain being this incredibly ignorant but also a mastermind, the fact that every single encounter between the two is riddled with Deus ex machina. And I do mean every single one of them. There was no encounter in this book after The 70% mark where any character made an intelligent decision

I am very upset that I even took the time to read this. I hope the author improves, because he had a good world build going, but it is not ready for publication writing yet.

Complete garbage by a deranged author who has 0 idea what a plot actually is, what women are, how relationships work, or really any clue as to how to tell a story that doesnt involve necrophilia. If you want to read about an MC who is basically just a floating camera and 3 one diemnsional female characters who are never described beyond "giant tits", and then read about tuem being (and this is straight from the plot) enslaved, raped, murdered, have their corpses desecrated, and raped AGAIN (necrophilia is not a kink, its a mental illness)... then read this book. I reccomend any other activity. Any. Like... boiling your head. Seems a better use of time.

Boringly average at best and lazy at worst.

Just another harem story with the same old BiggestDickest, Nice Guy TM MC that gets everything handed to him. With the same harem fodder that have less personality between them then a wet cloth. If you read one of these type of stories then you read this one and probably a better version of it.

Its ok.

The book was ok with some decent setup on why the MC has the skills he has. The world building is ok but really needs more fleshing out. The secondary characters are bland at the moment but hopefully will be more interesting in the future. Overall I give it a 3.5 out of 5 rounded up.

Good read,but...

I had some issues with this, one being the first chapter or two you think, ok, the author can write well. Fast paced and engaging! Then the fantasy section comes into play and I feel like I'm reading a first draft of the story! Editing issues convoluted story lines and imaging within the scenes don't make any sense, descriptions contradict each other...I want to like this story, it just was hard to invest in it as each action of the MC seemed to struggle to merge the story and stupid choice's or plot twists left you feeling ... confused ( like why would you do that?). I guess I was hoping to get more from this. Simple read, but the cover may be the best part.

The good side: I understand this being the author's first book. In view of this, style, plot's pacing, even characters are decent to good (especially the style & proffreading, compared to a few recently published)
The bad side: the world setting and the plot: absolutely nothing original!
For those of us that have read the majority of new recent novels in the genre, we have read all this a number of times!
Now, considering the book's last page, it appears Mr Daniel has a decent understanding of who the genre's prevalent authors are; I would then recommend that he attempts to figure out an original plotline & world build; then, writing a good book should not be difficult

Monster girls and idiot MC equals really bad writing.

Had to stop half way through because the inconsistancies are too glaring. The monster girl characters have no depth or personality and the concept of bonding is completely glossed over. The MC says and does ridiculous things while standing in front of armed opponents during a rescue attempt and they believe him and walk away. Really.... both the MC and his enemies are too stupid to live! Then they get chased but escape along with the captured girls to find that their getaway vehicle was found. The vicious antagonists steal his stuff and burn his horse alive appearing to leave but have actually left 3 behind to trap him. He overpowers them, with the monster girls help, yet is willing to let them walk away knowing that he (the MC) is more valuable, therfore at greater risk, than the monster girls because he can cultivate whereas men of that world cannot due to a curse emplaced by a centaur. Since the beast-kin races can cultivate magic and seem fairly numerous, why are they on the back foot being opressed by the very stupid humans in that world? They are all about as smart as the two guards in Monty Python and the holy grail who were told not to let the prince leave the room (look it up on youtube if you are not familiar). All told, this is a weak effort. I find it hard to believe that the author went on to write 3 more (at present) books in this series since this one was so weak. I agree with another reviewer that the best thing about this book is the cover art.

A fun harem fantasy

I really enjoyed the story it was real written and believable. The main character is a strong character but not overpowered. The story is a bit of a cultivation and fantasy and harem story. The harems are done as a part of the story and not the story if you know what I. They had a lot of action and drama and for me when I read it the words disappeared and I could see it happening in my mind that's how I can tell if it's a good story for myself. I'm glad that I see the second book is out so I'm going to get that right now and start reading I had a fun time hope this keeps going.

It's unbelievable that the protagonist would just accept the things I've read so far without questioning them. He just accepts magic exists, and magical abilities do too. Unless that goat girl has pheromones messing with his mind. Time will tell.

Yeah. I'm not continuing the series or anything else the author writes.

When someone attacks you and tries to kill you, and threatens to hunt you and your family down, what do you do? That's right, let them go.
Oh look. They came back.

The events in this book are all over the place. It's like the author read other books in the genre and mixed and matched elements.

Ugh, no idea how old the writer is, but his idea of a man, is something like i would find in a beer commercial, the other boys in the story are more college douchebag. The female characters have the personalities of a step sister on a adult website, and about as much character development. The whole thing feels like some teenage boys bdsm furry fantasy. The writer constantly forgets where his characters are, and they randomly jump from basements to above ground and the like. Don't waste your time,

A Colorado hunting guide becomes a protector of the downtrodden.

Great MC who develops powers that other humans can only imagine. With three bonded beauties he is ready to take on the evil of Aurilon. Freedom for the monster races and learning to live together is the goal. But evil barbaric beings such as Striker will make the quest to better the world difficult and perilous. Few little mistakes in editing but not enough to change the story. Good read.

Bad writing and boring story

I didn't like the book. I read the first three chapters and couldn't get any further. The first person writing was boring, flat, and never caught my interest. The inability of the author to provide any description that stimulated my imagination resulted in me dropping the book like a load of bricks.

Very Unique!

Now this book is different!
In my 50 years of reading, I have never come across a book similar to this !
From the beginning to about 30 pages, I was a little confused, then the book took off!
Now I don't know weather to be captivated, or amused.
But all in all, I can't wait to read the next book! 😜😜😜

It was ok

MC goes to new world and he is ignorant and weak. Lots of action and town building. Then destroy the town. MC had 10 tries to kill his mother's killer and he could not do it. Its an against all odds book. The mc has great potential but he is weak now. Nothing new here.

Disjointed and unrealistic

Yikes. Started off good and then jumps.all over the place. The MC goes.out of his way to.cause trouble for himself and make dumb decisions. Have to skip this series.

a satisfying read.

Good story. It started out like a series I read a few years ago but I was intrigued to find this was different in many ways. Instead of the hero being harassed at first he was sexed up and then began his journey.

I enjoyed this book even though the MC seems to make choices that you really have to question, I mean as a hunter even he should have more common sense.

I feel that the story went for easy & obvious cliche movement. still I enjoyed the story and look forward to reading the next book.

Main problem pop-writers in this genre have:
Imagine a sweet romantic or pastorale novel. Then at randem pops up violance and rape.
It just doesnt compute.
Although I would like the book but this kind of imbalance is annoying.

Good book

I enjoyed the book. My only complaint would be some of the crass wording used for some parts of the book like f@@k for inter@@@@@e. Etc. I don't mind the sex scenes in the book just some of the wording.

Nice harem story

This was a pleasant read with a slow harem build, relatively. The MC is not op but has the making to be op later in the series.
