Alastair Kingsley, Partner of Rivers & Kingsley Solicitors is an arrogant asshole, who thinks he’s God’s gift to the Universe. Successful, handsome, and bossy in all areas, I can see why women flock to him.
I, Laina Lawson, am one of them.
He’ll love and leave me and I’m fine with that. Because if he found out my secret, he’d be gone anyway.
He also has secrets of his own, I can tell.
We should never have mixed business with pleasure, and put both of our careers in jeopardy. Sacrificed everything we ever wanted.

Laina and Alastair are both broken people carrying secrets around with them. They both have dreams of having it all but believe they can't for different reasons. They know having an office romance can come with devastating complications, but they just can't keep their hands off each other.
This was an enjoyable office romance read for me. I didn't connect with these characters quite as much as I connected with Eden and Blaine from Secrets, but it had the captivating angst of the previous book with plenty of intrigue. I liked that the characters seemed realistic and they were willing to admit their faults and do unselfish things for each other. The insider's look at the city of London was fun to read as well, since I've always wanted to travel there. I also thought the title was fitting considering something Alastair does near the end (though I won't spoil it!).

This is the fourth book in this intriguing series, and is Alastair and Laina’s story. These two are both broken by their pasts, and are forced to work together. This is a well written story which has secrets and love. I look forward to reading more from this talented author, whose work I recommend for all.
Laina is a secretary for Alastair both have secrets and keep there distance .Things start to get complicated there attraction for each other is off the charts. But office romance and so many secrets will everything work out or will one walk away for good. It’s a good office romance! 4/5 stars
This one was a slower read to me and took me a little longer to get into it. Laina and Alastair both have there own issues and are broken. They each have there own secrets and seeing them work together daily is a mess. It did pick up the pace and I did like how they worked together by end.
Laina loses out on a promotion to someone that clearly doesn't deserve it, she gets dumped by text and then she finds out she's going to have to work for Alastair Kingsley. The day has not started out well and that is how the book begins. To say Alastair is tough to get along with is an understatement, but Laina is no shrinking violet, and that is what I like about her. This book is interesting, and engrossing, and you will definitely have mixed emotions while reading it. My favorite parts are reading what Alastair is thinking, which also warms me up to him more and more. There's a character I REALLY hated, and you will know exactly who I'm talking about when you get to them. There are times your heart is in your throat and you can't believe what you're reading, but keep going, I promise you, it's worth it!! I highly recommend this book, and yes, there is an HEA. Enjoy!!
Lawd, Alastair was something else, and I'm not going to lie, I wanted to junk punch him more than once. Laina Lawson hasn't had any luck whatsoever when it comes to men, so she's focusing on her career, but it just so happens that it's not going well either. She just got passed over for a promotion that she worked hard for, and then got transferred up to work for the very difficult Alastair Kingsley. He has no problem making her life a living hell, but boy do they have some serious chemistry. It doesn't take long for it to ignite, leading to sexy time that light the sky up! However, there's some drama that masquerades as big twists that had me cussing, and brought my girl pain. Anyway, you'll have to read it to find out how it all ends up! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This is the second book I have read in this series. This is Laina and Alastair's story. I didn't connect with these characters quite as much as I connected with Tegan and Kael from Vengeance, but I still loved it and never wanted to put this book down.

The book had a good storyline and is well written. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Alastair has just become my new Book Boyfriend! This office romance had me hooked from the beginning. The heat between Alastair and Laina was felt from the moment they started working together. I loved reading how alastair felt through the whole book, makes you fall for him even faster, i mean a bossy, "playboy" ( i mean is he really?) loves music from the 80s and also have has true feelings! i know i did!! I loved this book so much. It was my first one in the series and cant wait to read them all!!!
I could put this office romance down, I absolutely loved it. The book had a good storyline and like other books in the series it was well written.
All in the one disasterous morning Laina misses out on a promotion, gets dumped by her boyfriend and gets moved to a new position as secretary for a partner with a reputation as a tyrant and a womanizer.
Laina has no intention of reacting to Alistar's moods, and definitely no intention falling into his bed.
I received an ARC in return for an honest review. I enjoyed Laina and Alastair. While I felt the them saying they loved each other happened fast for me, it really wasn’t that fast based on how far in the book it was. My only question is, don’t those offices have doors? How come they didn’t close them if they didn’t want to get caught?!

Alastair is rich, good looking, a solicitor and womanizer. Laina is working with him and attracted to him. The two have broken pasts and secrets. An affair may end up with both of them losing their jobs and everything else. This is a office romance that I enjoyed reading.
Laina is not having a good day when she finds she has to work for Alastair. I found their story very intriguing and I didn't want to put it down. I love that they're both flawed and willing to admit it.
Oh man!!! Alastair was just what you expect of an arrogant CEO, well at least at first. Liana was having no luck and just wanted something to finally work out for her. Add some oh so very hot office trysts and we have a great story. I loved the twists and tuns, they kept me flipping!
Where do I start with this book, is amazing hot steamy, I couldn't put it down. I wish it was a longer story but being a short novella works so well enough detail and straight to the point
Sacrifice is another 5 star addition to this author's Fantasy series based on hot men and the women who find a place in their hearts. Alastair Kingsley is the CEO you'll love to hate as you see how he treats poor Laina who literally loses everything and has to start again. However, both have secrets and only time will tell if those secrets destroy what is building between this couple. This collection of stories has something for everyone and S Valentine proves with each one that she has an amazing talent and knows just what to give readers. You definitely need to pick up and enjoy these stories!
*I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book
I loved the heat, the chemistry, the banter, the flirting. Both are hiding secrets from each other, and like always when secrets get found out, misunderstandings happen.
