Katie's love life becomes complicated when she falls for Doug, her stepsister Cindy's boyfriend, while at the same time she is being pursued by a video-arcade nerd and teased by her sarcastic friend, Mitch
A great book dealing with just about every thing under the sun that you go through or feel in high school. I particularly like Katies personal growth and self realizations. the tradeding of old unrealistic dreams for the excitement of living in the real present. Great short teen read.
Oh this book was extremely good!! What I loved most about the book wasn't the plot (at least, not exactly) but I loved the characters: Katie: main character, hates to admit she's wrong or apologising, is always wishing for something other than what she has, and usually needs some sense talking into her. The fact that she's always acting prissy gets kind of annoying most times. She's in love with Doug, who turns out to be her new stepsister, Cindy's boyfriend. Mitch: a boy who Katie despises at first but then she learns (and won't admit it) to like his company...eventually falling in love with him. Mitch has always liked Katie, but she's too hot-headed and Doug-obsessed to even notice him. I liked Mitch--he made me laugh.
