The heroine runs away from her father who is trying to force her to marry an older gentleman.
The heroine wants to prove to him that she can earn money on her own, so she applies for the position of governess to the troublesome nephew of the Duke. Of course the heroine is unlike all the previous governesses and tutors and manages to bring out the best in the little boy.
The Hero is impressed. She is lovely, intelligent and perceptive, he knows she is not as she seems, but he allows her to keep her secrets for the meantime.
Some bad men kidnap the heroine and the nephew for ransom but the Hero rescues them and saves the day. He confessed his love to her. The heroine finally admits to him that it is her father whom she is hiding from. But then, the Hero shows her a newspaper ad where someone is urging Kasia (heroine’s name) to come home.
She finally knows she has won the argument with her father.
I am marking this as YA even though I don't think it was written for that intent. It was a very sweet love fantasy, almost Disney quality to it. Other than being a bit mild for my tastes a very good story.
Cute story, no angst, but it took me a few pages to be convinced it wasn't another one of her books. There were several places, as in many of her stories, where it's rough and leaves you wondering how and what. But is expected when she obviously preferred to write a lot of storylines rather than mastering a smaller amount. The story wrapped up so quickly with a great many questions unanswered and many conflicts hanging out, never to be answered. But it is a quick read in a couple of hours and is a nice little relaxer preparing for a good night's sleep.

I liked this one better. She is easy to read. I didn't get the point in the note she wrote until she explained it but other than that the rest of the story was okay.
