Elder, Belle is Dying, Bliss, and Children of the Ring were stand outs for me.
It was easy to see the HP Lovecraft influence on Mr. Whetzel's writing.
Although not a horror short, Bliss was particularly impactful.

Short stories and poetry. Some were horror and some were not, though all had a dark side to them for sure. Such a wide variety of story telling that you'll probably find something you like, even if you don't like it all. It's worth a shot.

Some of the short stories and poems didn't quite for me, but there were quite a few that I got into. Not big into short stories, but do enjoy the author's works.
