Sometimes just absurd but almost always funny, I still like this series. Kudos for Nakamura to be able to continuously weave stuff from Buddhism/Buddha's life and Christianity/Jesus' life into the jokes. I'm glad there's lengthy translator's notes in the back because for example all those little references in the t-shirts they wear usually are totally unknown to me.
(Btw, this series is probably the worst managed stuff I've seen on Goodreads. The editions are always weirdly mixed and somebody always adds the ebook version as its own book instead of one of the editions. Please stop! All editions of the same book go under the same title unless they are for example omnibus such as the German version.)
This was the best volume yet! It was hysterical. The author does a great job bringing in details from Christianity and Buddhism to make the jokes funny.
The yakuza are my faves! So funny! Buddha really killed me this volume, though the whole apple thing was good too. Fabulous volume! This series is one of my absolute favorites! It's so funny and charming! :) Jesus and Buddha are great.
