“Deceiving the Mob” is an incredibly fast paced, entertaining read that grips you from the first to last page. I couldn't put down this addictive page turner and read it in one sitting. Mia is the daughter of a mob boss but runs her own business empire and has nothing to do with her father's mafia dealings. Jack is a body guard for Mia's father and is also assigned to protect Mia. It is hard to know who Mia is in danger from, a rival mob, secret government agencies, her own body guards? Suzanne Hart sends us on a roller-coaster ride of non-stop action, spine-chilling suspense, kidnapping, violence, murder, betrayals, a shocking twist, sizzling sexual tension and earth shattering romance all leading to a spectacular conclusion. Another masterpiece from this fantastic author I definitely recommend.

Protecting Mia: A Mafia Dark Romance is about Mia and Jack. Mia is a force to be reckoned with and she needs to step up and help out her father’s business while he is incapacitated. Her brother is nowhere to be found so it is up to her. In a male dominated world, that makes life interesting. Jack is her father’s right hand man and she finds herself drawn and attracted to him against every logical thought in her head.

Jack has lived a sad, dangerous life but he will give anything to protect Mia. He cares about her, it surprises him how much he cares so he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

I haven’t read that many mafia books because the genre is a hit or miss with me and this one was more miss than hit unfortunately. I found myself skimming and paging through quite a few pages to make it to the end. It just didn’t grab me like some of the other novels written by this author. For that reason I can only rate 3 stars. I look forward to reading more novels by this author but not in the mafia genre if she releases more. I received an advance copy without expectation for review, any and all opinions expressed are my own.

Quite a good read

Out of all books of Suzanne Hart I have read this one is not my favourite. While I love romances with mafia/mob trope this one was good but not a great read.
I really enjoyed the story line and how twisted it was, with lots of action, dramatic events, angst and suspense. I couldn't connect completely with the characters at the beginning of the book. Later it was better. I was not able to understand how they discovered that they had feelings for each other. If you pass this part then story is getting better and mystery keeps you on your toes. The ending seemed a little bit rushed, maybe I missed the conclusion of the twisted plot and mystery but I felt like something was off.
Mia and Jack are hot and sexy together, sparks fly, there's a lot of chemistry. All in all I enjoyed reading this one. It has potential to be great read.

I do apologise in advance as am going to make several references to TV shows or movies.

First one that comes to mind is Empire and when you read it you will understand why my brain went there.

Respect to Slade because that death bed confession could have gone utterly haywire if it had not been for the “saved by the bell” moment
Mia reminded me of The Devil wears Prada boss lady wanting to bark orders and boss people around with no exceptions.

Loved that we are kept in suspense of who is pulling the strings, the intrigue was intense and my goodness the institute and its capabilities was out of this world, but I guess if you have money the possibilities are endless.

Captivating and gruesome read.

Review

I had my problems with this story and I was not sure what to say about it. I am going to be honest or my many reviews are worthless. I would not be believed. I don't just say nice things for the sake of it I only say what I really mean. I found the story trying to be clever with all these plots and twists and turns but they were just confusing and gave me a headache. I had to keep stopping to take a break. There was no way to work anything out, maybe that was the point and it is me who is stupid. If that is the case then I beg forgiveness from the author. My opinion is just one, I am sure many people will love this book I can see its appeal. Handsome hero pretty girl needs saving sex excitement etc, just not for me, I am so sorry perhaps I may read the authors other work and love it. I will have to wait and see.

Jack Slade and Mia have known each other for a considerable time but it takes a simple touch to start them thinking in different directions. Threats are being made against the Don, Mia's father, and the family. Jack is the head of security for the Don. Mia has separate security for her but with the threats on the family Jack begins to be concerned that her security is adequate. There are a series of hits on the family and the next few days involve a lot of suspense and attempting to find the source of the hits on the family and keep everyone safe. There are many twists. If you like trying to figure t all out you will enjoy this book.

There was a lot going for this book it started off looking like it would be a hot, action packed read. However, I found it hard to keep up with all the different characters who were in play and got somewhat confused in places. There was a lot of action between the 3 main mafia families, however although the heat and chemistry was most definitely there between Jack & Mia, there was little to no romance apart from 3/4 heavy sex scenes. Throughout the book there were plenty of plot twists and turns to keep you interested, including the "mystery" government agency involved and some very far fetched science. It was enough to keep me reading but I was disappointed at a rather benign and fast ending.

Mia is the daughter of a mob boss however she has her own empire she's building. Jack is her bodyguard and is having a difficult time protecting her. There are multiple threats to Mia from varies organizations. She turns to Jack when things start happening and she needs more help than she can do on her own. Once things start getting heated its hard to tell who Mia needs to be protected from. Can Jack keep her safe? Will they find out who is after her?

This is a great story that will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is scorching hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this story to any book lover.

I found myself in an interesting situation with this read. I am not a big fan of the mob romances. I have a hard time "liking" a criminal. Bad boys are one things but outright criminals, no. However I am a big fan of Suzanne Hart so I decided to give it a try. WOW. I am so glad I did. There is so much going on in this story that I find myself clenching my jaw from the stress of what is going to happen next. My mind was alive and engaged. My heart frequently pounding, practically out of my chest. The race of emotions were intense. Along with all of that you have two fantastic characters in Mia and Jack. As far as I am concerned this is a must read.

When Suzanne started teasing us on Facebook with the Prologue to Deceiving the Mob (under the working title of Protecting Mia) I waited anxiously for each chapter to be revealed. She did not disappoint with the finished full length book. Deceiving the Mob has it all: twists, intrigue, mystery, lust and 2 main characters with combustible chemistry. Every time I thought I knew who the good guys were she surprised me and when I was so certain people were the enemy she throws you for a loop. Great writing. When you get to the end and she ties it all together all you can say is WHAT! Great job Suzanne. I received this as an ARC for my honest review.

A wild and crazy ride
Deceiving The Mob by Suzanne Hart is a very unique romantic suspense book with the Mob as a focal point. Full of twists and turns, the plot will keep you guessing. The romance kind of takes a back seat in this book and the main characters are very unusual! These two are not your typical warm and fuzzy! It’s not a bad thing, just a change from what I’m used to.
Overall, this book will not bore the reader. Something is always happening or something is happening to someone. Hang on tight, it’s a wild and crazy ride with plenty of bumps and dips along the way.

A captivating, steamy passionate mob love story about Mia a young woman who has striven to move away from the mob ties that her family has and Jack a former military man with a heartbreaking past who is now the right hand man of Don Leone, the head of a mob family. Deceiving the Mob was a gripping page turner filled with drama, danger, steamy passion, and a quick paced love story. Suzanne Hart has created a mafia dark romance with a well written story plot and wonderful characters. A riveting story that will enjoy from start to finish.

Mia’s father, a Mafia boss, is ill so she has to step up and run the ‘firm’, her twin brother is missing and anyway, a drug addict. Jack is her father’s bodyguard, but is he more?
I’m not really ‘into’ books about the Mafia, but this one is interesting and eventually the ‘good’ guys do seem to win.
There’s a lot of suspense and action and it’s quite a good read, you’ll have to concentrate cos it gets quite complicated!

Do you like a whole lot of twist/turns and drama with your romance? If so, I encourage you to pick up this unbelievable release. There are many reasons why you don't cross the mob, however, if you read this riveting book, I'm sure you will discover a few more. Ms. Hart is an unbelievably talented Author and with this publication, she proves it yet again. So why not follow along as the drama unfolds?

I voluntarily requested an advanced reader's copy of Deceiving The Mob in exchange for my honest opinion and I highly recommend reading this book.

Jack's parents were killed when he was five years old. He was taken under the wing of the head of the mob. He's his right hand man now. Mia is the daughter of head of the mob but she lives her life outside of it. Jack and Mia care for each other but keep their distance from each other. Can they find their happily ever after? It was a good read. The characters were interesting and the suspense in the story kept me reading to the end.

Liked the story and characters. It was a little long winded and I felt there could have been much more action and steamier sex scenes. A little confusing in the beginning because the story jumps around. Kept waiting on a ménage between Jack, Rich and Mia. Would love more of a back story on Jack and Rich.

I am reviewing the prologue only at this point.

I found it to be a gripping page turner & this was the most excited I've felt about actually paying for the book itself, I had to buy it the minute I finished the epilogue. Holy moly it's so powerful, well written, intense, dark & in the background there's a raw need building between the hero & heroine, can you imagine what the complete book will be like!. .

Amazing storyline - an exciting ride of non-stop action, violent suspense, kidnapping, murder, and unexpected twists. Strong characters with the chemistry between them sizzling and off the charts. Definitely recommended!

Ok, so I thought by the description that this was going to be a hot and heavy mafia book. It wasn't and I am so disappointed. Here are my issues with this book the main characters are weak and the plot is all over the place. Mia who owns a business gets kidnapped by a rival family. That would not be bad except for the hero Jack does not seem to know what he is doing. Not the best book from this author but others may not agree with me.

Wow what a book Suzanne Hart and M. S. Reed, did a good job on this book. There is a lot to twist and turns in this book. But Jack finally was able to Protect Mia from the Mob that was trying to kill her father and brother. It is a must read book. This is a good fast-paced storyline with angst, chemistry, and traumatic pasts. The H is an alpha male bodyguard who is tasked with protecting the h, who is the mob boss' daughter while not being involved in her father's business. This book did not resonate with me due to the lack of romance, although there were hot and heavy sex scenes. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

Normally I enjoy books by Suzanne Hart. However, I just wasn't feeling this one. Mia is the daughter of a mob boss. The same one that Jack works for. Of course they both really like each other and dating the daughter of a mob boss isn't always the smartest thing. Thankfully in the end it all works out.

Not my favourite story from Suzanne Hart but still worth the read. It is very fast paced and at times it lacks depth. I could not connect with the characters for the first half but it got easier to like them.
A story with lots of steam, chemistry, drama, mafia action and twists.
Absolutely enjoyable to read.
