Nearly eighteen years have passed since everything fell apart in Josh's life, but now things are much worse than he ever imagined.

Chaos, destruction, and the threats of "Southern Sugar" control the streets. The conspiracy is controlled by a suspected toxic environment buried deep within the government at every level. Not only does he have to contend with a traitor handing over information, but Josh still has to deal with the crumbling pieces of his life when it comes to his heart and soul.

Stretched beyond his means, Josh is reluctant to recruit his team. All the personal issues continue to be the subject of debate, but this lethal drug has nearly killed a loved one. The team forgets their vendettas of the past. Add in a natural disaster, and things begin to fall in place. Nearly everything is put to bed with only one subject still heavy between Josh and his former best friend, Alex.

The team returns to their childhood home to gather their final member. That is when the Angel King wants to draw Josh out of hiding to end his presence on the case. While Josh does his best to ensure his family and loved ones' safety, things escalate in three phases. Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, and Washington, D.C. erupt in severe battlefields, and Josh's team is placed in extreme danger.

With forces ready to pounce after the case is cracked, Josh begins to move in and take the fight to those killing people. It's in the closing moments of the fight that Josh discovers the Angel King's real identity. With one final trick up his sleeve, Josh brings the reign of the Angel King to an end, but in the end, it may cost him the ultimate price. Who lives and who dies in this exciting story of good versus evil.

I had high hopes for this book having read the synopsis and few reviews. However, I was greatly disappointed. The book is poorly edited. There were numerous incomplete sentences, misuse of words (ceased when it should be seized, as one example), and the overall style was that of a 14 year old rather than a seasoned author. Easily, 40% of the book dealt with family issues and chaos. Dialogue was completely ridiculous. I would advise not buying this book.

Definitely different than I had expected, but it addresses a problem from real life, with a flare for dramatics that took it to a whole other level. Keeps you hooked and on the edge waiting to see what happens next. Twisted, but it's something that can eventually happen if the world continues to act like it is. Recommend starting with book 1 and continue on.
