Mimi Renee California native born in Compton and raised in Long Beach California, Mimi Renee recalls that reading and writing has always been her passion from as far back as she could remember. As a young girl she read aloud to herself and others for fun and enjoyed volunteering to stand up to and read out loud in front of class as much as she could. During her sophomore year in high school at David Starr Jordan High in north Long Beach, Mimi learned that she was pregnant and was soon transferred to a continuation school to finish her high school term out at Will Reid continuation, in a special program for pregnant minors.

Getting her life on track as a mother and not able to hang out with friends like she had in the past, Mimi reclaimed her passion for reading. She read countless books of various genres in her spare time. A few of her favorite authors are; Sister Souljah, Terry McMillan, Teri Woods, Nikki Turner, Shannon Holmes, Mary B. Morrison and Mary Monroe. Going back to her grass roots of scribed art suddenly Mimi had become inspired to put her passion for writing into action. After writing her first line on the page of her notebook, she was hooked.

I love the pen of this author.

This series has a very good storyline and will definitely hold your attention. There were a few errors, but it didn't take away from the book. Keisha Cones is a force to be reckoned with. She was spoiled as a child and it seems to have spilled over into her adult life. This is just another book that shows you can't always trust the people who are closest to you. I can't wait to see how this story will end.

Okay so this was a bumpy ride for Keisha and the crew for sure. I was never sure who she was going to end up with or who she wasn't, and the streets were brutal in this installment. Kuds to Mimi Rene for holding my interest because I've never really been a big fan of the whole Blood vs. Crip things, but she made it a worthy read. On to book 3.

Deadly Decisions II by Mimi Renee was action packed from page one! It picks up right where part one left off. Keshia is returning home after serving 4 years behind bars.Things begin to look up for KC but she soon finds herself back in the streets of Compton, fighting to survive.
DD2 reunites us with lovable characters from part one such as Cam, Lil Boo, Poo baby, G-ma, as well as new characters including Keshia's cousin, Bright ( and lead character from another Mimi Renee banger, Pretty Bright).
Deadly Decisions was a fast paced book that left me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading it. I did not know what to expect. The twists and turns were unimaginable and I loved the shocks and surprises along the way. Fingers crossed that there will be a part 3. 5 stars!!

This book turned out to be really good I hate that Keisha was so stubborn that she let her pride get in the way to make the right decisions when it came to her family she let her pride and her greed rule her and it cost her to lose a lot in the end. I also lost respect for Cameron to I understand him feeling hurt and guarded but he did the same thing to Monique and he didn't follow his heart in my opinion but at the same time I understand how he feels. Bottom lines that FAMILY should always come FIRST no matter what.

I loved part 2 alot the only problem I had is definitely Keisha 's decisions! She felt that money was everything and also the street life. I also didn't agree with the outcome of Keisha and cam, I was surprised at his actions and I didn't like miss Monique lol. thats all im going say! ! Definitely a must read.

Deadly Decisions 2 by Mimi Renee pick up 3 years after Deadly Decision 1. Keisha Cones has just been released from prison. She experiences drama, heart-ache, violence, family issues and deception; including, self-awareness. The book first half drags. The second half picks up steam, soars and become captivating. I enjoyed the ending. This read is recommended. Enjoy

Loved this book!!! Mimi did it again, I stayed up all night finishing this book. I just couldn't stop reading. I was so wishing Keisha could have had a better outcome, but for every action there is a reaction.
