"I'm no one's idea of a savior, Jailbait."Creed Hayes wasn't looking for redemption or a happily ever after, and he sure as hell wasn't looking to save a girl that tempted him beyond all reason. Sloan Spencer was trouble with a capital T. Too young, too innocent, and too damn beautiful. She was also alone and damn near defenseless except for the kitten claws she somehow thought would save her.Taking her home to the club is a cluster waiting to happen, I know it, and she knows it, but I can't stop myself. Our fates were sealed the second I saw the bruises covering her body. She's mine now and God help anyone who tries to take her from Violence, language, and possible triggers. If you love outlaws who live by their own code and will do anything to protect the women in their lives, you'll love the bad boys of Southern Rebel MC.Each book is a full-length standalone with recurring characters and all books are set in the Southern Rebel MC world.

For an MC book this guy was awesome! He was loyal, faithful and totally respectful of the fact she was only 17. He treated her with care and showed how much he respected her thoughts and feelings but he was not soft when it came to make sure no one hurt her. No sex between the couple in this book but I didn’t think that it was necessary as their love story was more than good enough. I have found in my old age that I’m getting sick of books with too much sex and not enough plot line. Enjoyable and safe read for me.

Just couldnt get into it. I stopped once heroine, who is suppose to be 16, is introduced to the MC members. The way she interacted with them (kind of bitchy) seemed unrealistic to me, even for a fictional book.

Sorry but it was too hard to digest that a girl’s mother has just died and she isn’t much bothered.
In fact she is thinking about other irrelevant stuffs.
Just too unreal.

Or maybe I’m just not feeling these biker books anymore.

The story was mildly entertaining. However the pacing and the characther development felt a bit rushed. After one week or so, the two main character were in love with each other. Even though they knew nothing about the other. Also, I did not feel the connection/spark between Jailbait and Creed. Maybe a slight sexual attraction vibe was between them, but nothing more.

Also, I just felt as though Jailbait got over everything a bit fast. I was almost raped no big deal. I was beat up no big deal. My mother died in front of me piece of cake... I mean she sounds like a person with mass ptsd, but she carried on like this is her everyday life.

I really liked this story, the writing style and the characters. There is one reason I gave this 3 stars instead of higher and that is the disloyalty of Creed to his President. Some may think disloyalty is a strong word, but when you lie, even if it is by omission, and form a plan to keep something from your president, that is disloyalty.

I’m not sure where to start. I stumbled upon this book and I’m glad I took a chance.

Creed and Sloan (Jailbait) was nothing like I expected. It was hot, without the sex. It was exciting, thrilling and a page turner. The author developed to characters that loved each other despite the age difference and never once did they falter in their morals, love and commitment.

There was so many twists and turns in this book but the loyalty and botherood within this club was strong and withstood so many tests.

I swooned for Creed I adored him in every since of the word. Jailbait grew so much when she had the love of q man and the backing of an MC family.

I couldn’t put this boo down once I started, I won’t lie and say there are some topics that hit home and I shed tears over but the overall plot and character development was superbly written.

Great Start

I found this by accident when I stumbled over the pre-order for Outcast. I almost didn't read it, but I really wanted to see how Sloan would make a place for herself in a motorcycle club. I also read it because of Kristin's other series and really enjoyed it. I ended up loving this book. Sloan and Creed are wonderful and their love is portrayed in a non-creepy way. There's no sex in this, but there's still plenty to depict the rawness of a MC series. I'm really looking forward to Cord's book. I'm sure Crew will have one as well. Clutch, too. I hope Ronnie either steps up or Clutch finds someone that deserves him. Since this a five book series, I wonder who will round out the five. Really looking forward to it.

4.5 STAR 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Sloane "Jailbait" was an amazing character. I really liked how strong and loyal she is. Loved the little twists, quick storyline, and the Insta attraction that Creed had for her.
Want to give my Book Buddy Josie props for recommending this book. This was my first read by this author and won't be the last. Can't wait for April for book 2 and Cords story.
I recommend this book.

I was looking for a smutty romance in audible plus and this is what I got instead 😝. Not the worst thing I’ve ever read, but also not the best. I found it anticlimactic and predictable. I listened to it and the narrators accent, especially the male’s was hard to take serious. Reminded me of Michael Scott’s southern accent in the “Murder” episode. Also - to note, exactly zero smut in this one.

It was an ok but not that good, the F lead was actually a sane person there is so much F leads who act stubborn in an annoying way and behaving like children so yes it was a fresh scene to see a one normal, the M was a good guy there is nothing on him no jerking no cheating no no a simple good guy.while it was ok for me but i just aah i konw that the F lead was 16years old and i'm not saying there must be some you know scenes every page but well there was nothing at all i thought that there will be some kind of time advance what i'm saying is i got bored it was cute but well not for the all book i give this 2 stars

It has a good story going on but this book doesn't speak MC to me, IMO. I never felt the camaraderie between the MC brothers and with all the lies and secrets going on, brothers keeping things to themselves and not sharing to their club's President? Add in the fact that the sacred Church thing can happen outside their meeting room? I felt weirded out reading this. No steam and no sexy times as well (understable since heroine is under 18 years old).

However, given all that, I still believe that this series has a potential. It still poked my curiosity for me to still want to read the others in the series and just hope that it will eventually give me the MC vibes I needed in this series. It means this book is engaging enough and entertaining enough. I think it's difference between the other books I've read is also a good thing. At least good thing for me. I'd still rec this one just for it being different if you're tired of reading the same MC books.

P.S. There may be some other woman drama but IMO, the OW is an ex of the hero and the drama didn't take up a couple of pages in the story and not irritating and heartbreaking at all. OW ended up being nice to the heroine and not at all a general b*tch.

Couldn't Put It Down. Will Definitely Read More From This Author.

Small spoilers in this review, only read after the first paragraph if you dont mind spoilers.

Short hand; this book is a great read. The characters are well developed and the story is intriguing. The FMC is a minor throughout the majority of the book (just shy of 17) and we never know the direct age of the MMC, though the vibe of the book pegs him to be (to me) in his early to mid 20's. Every issue that comes up in the book is resolved before the end, it's a complete stand alone and the only connection to the next book seems to be the characters and location, but will be centered on new main characters. I'm sure some of the events from this book will carry over, but like I said, everything between the MCs is resolved and finished. The book is well written, I only noticed a few grammar errors, and the writing flows nicely. The FMC is a strong young woman who realizes that not everyone gets an easy life and that you have to choose how you're going to live. The MMC is a bada** mc who know's how to get sh*t done, but is also someone that has a soft heart to those he loves. Through the book he's very protective of his brother and the FMC after he saves her. The gradual romance of the MCs is something I really appreciate in this book. They grow to depend on one another, but because of the age difference and the FMC being under age, its not a typical romance, it's something pure and wholesome (with a splash of typical biker/mc craziness to make it better.) I will say that this book isn't for everyone, but I definitely recommend it to everyone anyways.

Honestly these spoilers are just because I don't agree with the negative reviews on this book. Everything below is based on my personal opinion, with some details from the book to prove my point. It's probably not needed and you'll probably waste more time reading it than anything, but I'm still adding it for the Authors benefit and to any other readers who agree with me.

The first thing I want to say, is that not everything has to have sex in it. I understand that it seems like the majority of readers demand those scenes (personally I don't mind either way, but honestly it gets to the point in some books that I skip over them) but not everyone wants them. It's terrible that this book has negative reviews because there's no sex, rather the heroine is of age at the end or not. Honestly, I think the book was better not having it.

Secondly, yes some 16 year olds have a higher maturity level than others and can act like they're years older then what they are. I happen to have been one of them. Some situations you grow up in make you mentally age faster and you tend to be on a different level than others your own age. Either the child grows up fast or they become overly childish and hardly never act like an 'adult' for it. In this books case, growing up with a single mom, and hardly having anything other than the necessities, is a big factor in that. Pair that with her mother literally trying her best to make sure her daughter owned up to everything she did, and doing her best to make her strong, is another huge factor. Again, a person can go either way. They can choose to ignore it all and revert each time, or they can accept it and grow, which is what pur FMC did. She grew up.

The other issue this seemed to cause for some readers, is that apparently the FMC couldn't get scared and go into shock because she was supposed to be mature? Anyone at any age can go through shock that leaves you almost mindless. Of course the FMC would be scared running for her life with her mother, and once her mom dies she's not supposed to be in shock? It's very plausible that she can go from scared and unsure to standing up to the mcs president. At that point she either needs to own up or surrender. She had a choice to make, one she didn't have hardly any time to consider, and she took her shot at it, which worked in her favor. She grieved and acknowledged that it was all a little crazy, but in the end (like middle-ish of book) she realized that she had a new family with them. She picked up on the mc life and she adapted to it, the quicker the better, which she did. She choose to be who and what she wanted to be.

If you read this far, I hope nothing I said put you off from reading this book, but to each their own. If you were opposed to reading it, and now want to after reading all this, then awesome you totally should! If you read this all and think it just wasted your time, then sorry, but I did warn you before reading it.

MC Family

I admit, the title of the book pulled me in, what can I say I like things that jump out at me and might be a little bit controversial. There is a little bit of a age gap here, but I think it matters more in this case because Sloan is 16 when the book starts. This is an MC book, so a lot of it revolves around the clubhouse, but if your looking for a lot of risqué this book talks about it, but doesn’t show it like you find in some other books. It definitely does have the violence you expect to find in an MC book though.
I think for Sloan this book is very much a coming of age book. When it starts her and her mom are running from someone who had beaten her pretty badly. That same person runs them off the road, killing her mom; enter Creed who rescues her, brings her back to club, and gets her protection. She’s obviously sad and scared and withdrawn when the book starts, but with Creed standing behind her she really comes out of her shell and has this great strength. I loved how she advocated for other people, how she care for other, how quickly the club became her family and had her loyalty. I also liked that she didn’t shrink away from the more messy parts of MC life. Watching her stand on her own two feet was great.
As for Creed, what’s not to like. He puts his life on hold and on the line to protect a girl he doesn’t know because it’s the right thing to do. He’s kind and gentle with her, and let’s her and everyone else know he is there for her no matter what. Creed is also a good brother to Crew, even when Crew is a little snot. I liked the friendships he has with the MC, and he’s just likable.
There isn’t a lot of hot and heavy in this book at all (see the title), so if that’s what you are looking for, go somewhere else. But there is emotional impact, which is what I like in a book, so I’m 100% happy with this book, and will probably do a reread in the future.

The first MC romance that didn't grate on my nerves. The first hero from MC romance that I adore. And the very first heroine from MC romance that I also adore and respect and relate with.

Hmm, romance-wise and plot-wise, Jailbait may not be the most original. However, this is probably the first MC romace read that I enjoyed reading from start to end. No cringe factor whatsoever. I think the characters themselves sold the whole read though.

Though the heroine is clearly underage when the story started, no sexual relationship started until the time the heroine can legally consent to a sexual relationship. Anyway - and I don't mean to utter a flimsy excuse nor do I want to undermine the laws between an adult and a minor - the heroine is beyond mature. She's mature in words and actions. Her own life made that happen - and she obviously dealt with it gracefully. The way she interacted with the MC members, the women surrounding the club, and overall all the people she encountered with, I could even admit she even acted more mature than most. But at the same time, she's got the warmth and brightness to her and none of the hardened heart of an adult. There's nothing more accurate to explain her personal story than those sentences.

The hero. I don't think I caught the actual age of the hero, just implied throughout he's def an older man. Give me an actual grown-up, his wisdom showing from his actions. I really don't care much for overgrown men who still threw tantrums in their own way and OTT when showing his alpha tendencies and whatnot.

I felt like it's been short but real as if I easily connected with the whole cast.

Nah

I got through 60% of this book before I stopped. This book was just so unrealistic there was no point finishing it and these were my biggest issues:

1. Female lead is 16, that’s right 16.
And let’s delve into that, she’s 16 but has the attitude of a 23+ yr old. And she didn’t start out that way. She was portrayed as abused and timid, witnessing her mother’s death, to telling off a club member and calling him out even though she’s only allowed to live there by the good grace of the higher club members, and then had some nerve to be sassy to some club members. She’s SIXTEEN! And they kinda let her, and then she calls some shots?? She’s a kid in a grownup world. This is just too tall of a tale to continue. At least make her 17 a week away from her 18th.

2. No steamy scenes period. ( I read the reviews just to make sure that maybe because I didn’t finish the book I would’ve missed out). And when you think of it it’s for the best that there weren’t steamy scenes with the main lead who’s I don’t even know how old, but considered the VP, and a SIXTEEN year old. So I mean that’s at least something in the books favor. But let’s time out, why would I read an MC romance and not read for that steam factor??? I’m not reading it bc I care about motorcycle gangs. There is such a creep factor that the male lead is lusting after this kid.

My only regret was not finishing this to find out what the significance of her dads gang was like or what his story was.

This was a cute attempt at dabbling into the MC world I just hope it gets better from here.

“You never need to fear him again,” I promised, locking our fingers together. She gave me a soft smile. “I haven’t feared him…not since I met you.”

Not that I’m complaining but there was ZERO sex in this book. Like only two kisses…it didn’t get hot and heavy and there wasn’t really any passion except for a few scenes. All of this because…our leading lady is literally sixteen for most of this book. Not coooool, actually kind of creepy and uncomfortable. Nevertheless, it actually is a REALLY interesting and intriguing book. The sexual suspense is everything, I live for it, and this book was chalked full of it.

Our leading man, Creed, saves our sweet heroine, Sloan, from a car crash that kills her mother instantly. She was running from her mother’s current boyfriend after he tried to rape her. The car crash leaves her more battered than she already is and when Creed sees her, his heart belongs to her instantly. He calls her Jailbait as a reminder to himself and the rest of the men in his motorcycle gang that she is underaged. It’s actually very sweet. He takes wonderful care of her and puts her first, above almost everything else.

This book is full of stolen glances and flirty comments, but nothing past a PG rating (sex wise). Murder is a whole other story, but I won’t get into that. Anyway, it’s a perfect pallet cleanser! I’d give it 4 stars 🙂

4 Cute and Deadly MC Stars

I dig Creed and Jailbait’s story. Always got a thing for the protective male lead. That’s just something you should already know about me.

I’m interested in all of the secondary characters and how they’re drama will play out. Ronnie and Clutch. Norah and little Deacon. Candy. Crew. Cord. I think Johnny needs an Old Lady, real bad.

I liked how much of a fit Jailbait was with the club. There was some push back in the beginning, but it didn’t take long for her to make a place for herself.

It was annoyingly convenient, if not sickly sweet, that Creed went away long enough for her to be legal. So the story could get a fast forward and we could see it was working out for them.

Too many tears have I shed over Deacon. And stupid racist a-holes. Even though it was really Monty, and it didn’t seem to play a factor in his actual demise.

Here’s hoping the rest of the series opens up to the ladies getting more out of their lives in relationship to the club. And something like Fat Willy not coming to pass again. Thankfully, he got his just desserts.

I really enjoyed the author’s style of writing. All of the characters feel like the jump off the page at you and the entire plot flowed nicely. There were some surprises that were great. Sloan/Jailbait didn’t come off as a typical 16/17 year old, thank goodness because that would have been both annoying and creepy. We don’t really know how old Creed is, but he’s infatuated with her from the start. From anyone worrying nothing happens in this book between them in terms of a physical relationship beyond a kiss. That’s actually where the book loses stars for me, because I don’t consider this an MC romance. Yes the two main characters kinda fall in love, but it doesn’t feel realistic. The entire story would have been better if Jailbait was a few months away from being 18 (instead of 17) and we actually got to see her and Creed form and adult relationship. This felt like the first few chapters of their romance, vs. the entire story. I loved all of the secondary characters so I’m going to give the second book a try because I’m curious about what else goes on with side characters and the club in general.

I’m going to start off by saying I really liked the theme. I liked the closeness that the club had and their ability to be down to earth. Their banter with each other was something that I truly loved I loved that Sloan had a back bone and stuck up for not only her self but also for Creed. She was young but she really had a crappy hand but she survived and thrived with the MC in her corner. I was really hooked once I started and didn’t want to stop. I plan to read more by this author because I really got into her writing style. The perfect balance of description and dialogue.

Fans of MC romance novels and slow burns, will fall hard for these characters. I will say that there is no sex in this book. Normally that isn’t my thing but while reading this I didn’t even notice. So, bravo to the author for pulling me so much into these characters lives that I didn’t even notice. Now bring in the next Hayes brother. I am sooo ready. 4 stars #2OCCJD

When I saw this author was writing an MC, I was curious because her books are so clean and more YA in nature. So, for that reason, I will give props. The story flows nicely and I enjoyed all of the characters. It was a very "clean" MC, not as gritty as a usual MC read. Also the brotherhood was not as strong as a typical MC. I understood that this heroine was 16, almost 17 which made her "jailbait" but I didnt notice a single time that we know how old the hero Creed is. Did I miss that? Is he maybe 20? Or is he way older than her? I have no clue. No sex in an MC story will not fly with most readers of this genre so I don't know how well the book will be received. But overall the plot is good and the characters are likeable....I just wish we got more from their relationship other than a few light kisses.

My Review: I liked it, just wish all the club drama with Monty, Crew, Nina, Deacon, and so on had happened earlier and the events were intertwined with Creed and Sloan from the beginning. Once Johnny was introduced that should have introduced us to Monty, Nina's problems, Micah, etc. Other than that I love me an ott male. I can't wait for Cord's return.

A Very Good New M.C. Series!

Really, really enjoyed Jailbait (Southern Rebels M.C. Book 1)! Has just about everything needed to make a very good M.C. Series: A loyal brotherhood, strong old ladies, daughters, and club girls you can actually like! An immeasurable sense of pride and love for a large family. I enjoyed the humor woven throughout the story. I was saddened by (Daddy) Deacon's loss, but not Big Fat Willy's! There are a lot more than five interesting characters, so hopefully the only 5 book series has been left open for negotiations!

However, there is NO WAY NEAR ENOUGH SEX for this M.C. Series! Please, please, please up the sex scenes! I waited over 13 months for a super hot first time consensual sex scene between Creed and Sloan, but you left me hangin'!

Jailbait satisfies the need for a good MC read...

This book left me with a hunger for more. I enjoy books like this that are realistic, give you enough but not too much and keeps the characters normal without going over the top.

This book involves an underage heroine, thus the nickname and title "Jailbait" , who begins with serious problems abounding in her life. Creed, who turns out to be the hero, happens along as gate places their lives together. There are some issues with this book that prevented me from giving it a full five stars. Although Jailbait was a teenager, she appeared to be too mature and knowledgeable for the situations in which she found herself. Other than that minor detail, I truly recommend reading this book.
