This was a really good story. It was sweet, sexy, romantic, and really focused on what relationships can be like in real life. I loved the characters in this book; especially Monica's friends. They knew how to be serious, but also had fun and a sense of humor. Ummm...never understood the obsession (or requirement?) of having to have a date to a wedding though. Just seems kind of ridiculous to me.
Anyway, Nick and Monica were a sexy and fun couple. Loved their flirting and getting to know each other. I was rooting for them from the jump. But damn, I felt sorry for Nick. Every time things got a little too serious for Monica, or something happened that made her feel like having a social life caused problems, she'd drop Nick like a sack of potatoes. It was a bit frustrating to read. Nick was definitely one of the good ones. He was very understanding and tried really hard to work with her schedule, but Monica just kept giving up too easily. I wanted to shake the woman for all the back-and-forth!
I ultimately felt sorry for Monica though, because it seemed like she honestly didn't know how to handle things outside of her career. The woman may have been a genius, soon-to-be doctor, but she needed a little crash course in love and relationships and how to balance that with having a demanding career. But I loved her honesty though, or as Nick calls it her "Beautiful Mind." And Kudos to Nick for his maturity and understanding. Glad Monica finally got it together and realized that with Nick she had the perfect life balance. I was so pleased with the way things wrapped up in this book.
