As small as she is, Sparkle the kitten loves to act like a dog by playing fetch and chasing the mailman, but when she escapes the house during a snowstorm, Snowflake, a rather timid puppy, must find the courage to rescue his friend.
Prolific author of animals stories for younger children, in particular dog and cat stories. As well as a Puppy Tales and Kitten Tales series she has written the Pony Tales series of pony books.
There is some speculation that the author does not actually exist but is a psuedonym for another author or authors. One author mentioned as writing under the name of Jenny Dale is Liss Norton, who incidentally is also said to be one of the ghostwriters for the Lucy Daniels Animal Ark series.
Sparkle is a cat, who acts like a dog, so much so that her owner, Ben, often tells her so. Snowflake is a dog, who wants to be a cat, since he doesn't like doing "doggy" things. They are best friends. ---------------------- When Snowflake awakes and cannot find Sparkle, he knows that she is out in the snow, so he goes looking for her. He searches everywhere, but cannot find her. He returns back to his own yard, and finds Sparkle stuck in a tree. With Snowflake's help, Sparkle is returned to the safety of their home.
A really cute book. I read it years ago when I was really little and it was the first book I had ever read on my own. I was thrilled and went to go tell my parents. It taught about friendship and love. Very, very cute. 4/5 stars.
