Mayuko's life of staying swaddled in her comforter has started turning brighter thanks to Ohba-san! The two decide to stream a video of themselves dancing to a song by the idol group KBF. Then something happens that brings them closer than ever?!
We love some accurate heat exhaustion representation in our manga. As someone who has experienced heat exhaustion prior to a concert (yes, no joke, all for Owl City), it did a great job at highlighting the reality of fainting temporarily and requiring cold compresses & water. Also the twists in this manga are so fun and unique!
THIS IS EQUALLY AS GOOD AS VOLUME ONE!!!! *falls out of chair*
*slowly climbs back on chair* Oh. My. Goodness. Though!!!
This manga just wrapped me in it's amazing embrace and felt like I was there with Mayuko and Ohba! I felt the music, the energy, the excitement, and the beauty of discovering new feelings! DID I MENTION IT WAS SO GOOD?!!
And once again, I'm left with feeling like I want to hug my Kindle so I can just bask in the happy feels of this story! <3 Such a wonderful and amazing feeling to have when reading!
And…I AM SO THANKFUL NO ONE IS HARMING THESE PRECIOUS CHARACTERS! Based on how the previous volume ended, I REALLYYYY felt something bad would happen in this volume, but I was wrong and I am GLAD. They are adorable and just so wholesome and bring all the happy feels!
I am very proud of them both and very excited to see where things will go in the next volume!
But man, can we just do another shoutout for the tangible energy in this manga?! I really felt like I wanted to come sing and dance!
Not quite as special as the first volume - there’re a lot of fun moments but the spark isn’t as bright as the first instalment. Make no mistake, Ohba and Mayuko have strong chemistry still, but their slow march towards being a couple is just that.
The bulk of this volume revolves around our heroes attending a KBF47 concert and the drama and anxiety that entails. Mayuko’s every success still feels earned and special, given how serious her anxiety can get, which I appreciate.
There‘s not a ton to unpack here - the video the two shot goes largely ignored, which seems like a missed opportunity (though it might come back and it has slight bearing on the plot). With only two main characters there isn’t a lot to say once you’ve unpacked the basics.
While the obvious plot complication coming is obvious, the sheer difference between the people involved should hopefully make for a fascinating take on the usual well-worn ground. Still good, but just an okay outing compared to the first volume.
Well, this was a completely adorable installment. I also really enjoyed that the main characters had an outing together as friends rather than, like, a “first date.” It was really refreshing. And of course it’s just really nice to read about characters who are relatable rather than ultra-friendly, happy-go-lucky, and super-positive all the time. These characters actually feel like real people to me rather than idealized versions of people.
I am still loving this but the intro of the love triangle feels unnecessary in a 3 volume manga. He continues to be the greenest of all flags and I love that. He stands up for her, engages with her where she is at, and supports her.
AHH ”When We Shout for Love, Vol 2” by Yuka Kitagawa is so cute! Every page is so nicely drawn, and the story pulls you right in!
This is a read for everyone that likes stories about fandoms.
Mayuko finds the courage to ask Ohba-kun to a KBF47 concert, and he agrees! Next follows cute scenes of Mayuko being grateful for her friend, Ohba-kun, and the two friends having the time of their life as fans at the concert!
A new character was introduced too, and this is making me very excited to see what happens next. Mayuko and Ohba-kun split up for a second, and Ohba-kun runs into their favourite idol Zono-chan, and help her find back on stage. I sense trouble in the future... the way Ohba-kun watch Zono-chan is the same way he watches Mayuko. A bit of a glassy-eyed admiration. Yikes! I'm onto the next book, right away!
