Evelyn or Eve is a an undercover PI posing as a journalist. She is offered three times her normal amount to follow Sebastian Cunningham someone Eve has known since high school. Along with every other girl who encounters him, Eve finds him ridiculously attractive but she also wants nothing to do with him.
This is absolutely a “who done it” type book and there is a lot going on but it doesn’t flow as well as I would have liked and I think it should be a bit longer so that more of the story could be developed in the beginning. Plus things did not seem to gel very well. Like After Eve found Sebastian without clothes, how did the police not question that OR if he ended up having clothes when they got there where did the clothes come from???? I have questions!!
The story was there and the characters were good but it wasn’t quite put together correctly which made it choppy for reading.
It was very sexy and suspenseful.

Eve, a former journalist turned private investigator, was asked to investigate an old schoolmate, Sebastian Cunningham, a billionaire businessman. Reluctantly she begins and is swept into a whirlwind of mystery, murder and attraction.
I enjoyed the mystery part of the story more than the romance. I found Eve very annoying and immature. I felt she was still stuck back in their high school days and in the middle of their old rivalry.
Sebastian was mature, but how he got involved in the life he led was beyond me.
Overall, a solid 3.5 stars from me. It was entertaining, but I didn't enjoy it as much as "On Second Thought", the previous title in the series.

This is a second chance romance. There is Eve who was an investigative journals who turned into a private investigator. She loves to solve puzzles & the new guy she is investigating is quite the puzzle. Sebastian is now a billionaire but when she new him he was just an obnoxious arrogant high schooler who was always competing with her. When strange things start happening will she be able to figure out what is going on in time? Interesting book. Took a bit to get into the story but once I did I enjoyed it. Quite a few twists and turns. Hope you do as well.

Enemies to lovers second chance
A Second Look by Lexi Aurora is a sweet and sassy read. These two characters, Eve and Sebastian tickled me. Eve, so sassy and independent, determined to stubbornly deny her true feelings about Sebastian. Sebastian is charming, which only seems to annoy Eve and amuses Sebastian to no end. He has no doubts about Eve and that only increases Eve’s ire. Quite amusing for the reader.
Overall a fun read, an interesting plot with a little mystery thrown in and a HEA.

Eve was an investigative journalist turned PI and a client hires her to investigate Sebastian. He’s a billionaire that owns a chain of jewelry stores. Eve knows Sebastian from high school where they were both valedictorians and had issues with each other. She starts investigating him and finds that people close to him are dying. Now she has to figure out the mystery and what he’s up to especially as he knows what she’s doing. They are getting closer as they work together to solve this mystery. The story of Eve and Sebastian involves mystery and romance. Eve was a PI hired to investigate Sebastian, who was a former rival from high school. Sebastian had become a shady jewelry store owner involved in criminal activity and people around him started dying. There is mystery and romance in the story but I never really liked Sebastian's character and never understood Eve's interest. It was an okay story but not one of my favorite books by Lexi Aurora, although I usually love her stories.

A wonderfully well written mystery suspense romance. This interesting storyline includes mayhem, mystery, suspense, espionage, sexual tension, and twists and turns that kept me on edge from page one. The characters are interesting and well developed with amazing sizzling chemistry. I was extremely captivated in this entertaining romance suspence holding my breath till the shocking reveal that included a HEA. I honestly and voluntarily reviewed this ARC.

I feel torn about this book. There were many aspects of this book I enjoyed. I liked the male lead character Sebastian but really disliked the female lead character Eve. He was charming and open. She was closed off, had a scowl on her face and a bad attitude nearly all the time.
It also had a very unique storyline that I had not seen before in a romance book. That was a surprising twist. All in all, a good read.

Sebastian lives on the outer side of the law. Eve is a rule follower. They have been competing against each other since high school. Back together again 10 years later they still challenge each other. When danger lurks they have to work together to solve the mystery and stay alive. They also have to deal with the burning attraction that is always simmering between them. An easy read with sharp wit and humor.

A second chance for two high school friends. Sebastian turned into a millionaire on the wrong side of the law. Eve a journalist turned pi. She knows it’s a mistake when she is hired to follow Sebastian. Little did she know just how right it would turn out. There are so many twists you have to get to the end sooner.

This was an interesting book! I enjoyed reading it! This was well written and kept me intrigued!! I loved the mystery of the story, and the drama!! I also loved Eva’s love and hate relationship with Sebastian!! This was good book!!! But, at times it felt like it was missing something...

I totally loved this exciting, suspenseful story. Eve and Sebastian are so exciting. I loved how outwardly they disliked each other, but underneath they couldn’t get enough of each other. Such a great book , couldn’t put it down.

Sebastian, a jewellery and artefact thief is investigated by his former high school crush, Eve. She is now a PI hired by an acquaintance of Sebastian’s to find out what he is up to. However, Eve can’t fight her attraction to Sebastian. As events turn more sinister the relationship between them develops. An unusual but fascinating story. Read an ARC for an honest review.

ONE INTERESTING ADVENTURE!!!
OMG! Talk about hard decisions. I love Lexi's style as she pulls this thrilling page turning delight together brilliantly. I was captivated from the start. It's truly one wild ride as everything falls into place with such perfection it blew my mind. The characters are well developed and believable with realistic personalities that blend and play off one another in such a smooth flowing rhythm. The scenes are quite graphic and descriptive that it paints a fantastic backdrop that really makes the storyline pop. All the twists and turns kept the suspense high and tension higher. It's truly a joy to read as it commands your attention until the last word. Lexi did an excellent job bringing this read to life flawlessly. Awesome job Lexi, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.

I think it's for now, the best Lexi Aurora story I've read. I loved these characters, their dialogue, their tumultuous relationship, the action of the book. It's well written and exciting.
Sebastian is a kind of thief like a rich Arsène Lupin made and is found by Eve, whom he knew in high school. She became a private investigator and is hired to investigate his fortune and perhaps his links to the criminal world. Despite the denial she seeks to demonstrate, she is irredeemably attracted by Sebastian who already annoyed her in high school. However, she changes her mind when Sebastian's relatives begin to die one after the other and that their safety is questioned.

The mystery and suspense throughout this story is just amazing. Sebastian and Eve were superb together. The have the most wonderful personalities that are so life like. You can just picture these two standing in front of you giving you a taste of their drama. This is extremely well written and the story itself is superb. I love how much action and suspense there is in it. The support characters are fantastic and add just the right touch to the story. It is definitely worth reading and doesn’t disappoint.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. This is a quick paced little romance, full of adventure, suspense and steamy romance. I enjoyed it immensely. The connection and chemistry between Sebastian and Eve is obvious and their constant banter was incredibly entertaining. The romance between them was heartwarming and engaging and the intimate scenes were simply hot, hot, hot! Add to that a satisfying mystery and a ton of intrigue and danger - and this story delivers on all levels. A highly entertaining romantic adventure and a definite must-read!

I couldn't get into this story at all. I tried several times just to see if it was just my mood at the time, but it didn't help. I didn't click with either character and the storyline just didn't hold me.

This is the story of Eve and Sebastian. If you are looking for short fun read about second chances I recommend this book. Characters are well liked. Would have liked the story to be longer.
