Gabrielle has never let the misfortune and pain of her past cloud the clear vision she has for her future, and as a talented young producer, she is determined to make her way up to the very pinnacle of the industry. However, she must overcome one final obstacle, one that proves to be the most challenging of them all; Beathan Reynolds, a talented older actor who is spiraling into depression and addiction following an unfortunate turn of events. Despite Gabrielle’s distaste for his crude manner and devil-may-care attitude, she finds herself growing to care for Beathan. Can Gabrielle put up with him long enough to produce her masterpiece? Will she give in to the growing desire deep in her heart that she tries so desperately to conceal? Or will everything she has built come tumbling down?
This book was a little different than the usual romance because the couple were not perfect physically or mentally. Beathan was movie star gorgeous it but he had lost his am in a car accident. He had given up acting because he feared what people would think. He thought he would be laughed at.
Gabrielle was called ugly with word hair. Physically she was tall, muscular and flat chested. However, she was a gifted director and the movie with Beathan was her 1st mainstream project. She had had been told by her father's girlfriend told her over and forever she was ugly and would never be loved! 😱
When she chased down her hiding star and the director meet it was explosive. The book continued as they wed,, had children! and there professional projects. This is an incredible good book. You should not miss this book . Thank you
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review. The story of Gabrielle, wow I must say it was an unexpected story line not what I was expecting, but I loved it. I think a lot of woman can relate to Gabrielle, who is a person that life has made her strong, she has been bullied and classified as ugly. Trying to be successful as a movie director a profession ruled by men and beautiful people. Don't want to say much as I don't want to spoil it but I highly recommend this book it is a story that proves that any one can have love and success.
What a really beautiful, fulfilling love story. This is the love that women want, dream of and deserve. I loved Gabrielle and Beathan so much. They are totally opposite personalities but fit together so well, I fell in love with Beathan for so many reasons and adored his very cheeky sense of humour which was always there, and Gabrielle, so honest so full of hurt and pain but thankfully was strong enough to take the chance. I enjoyed this book so much and wish more authors wrote from this perspective and not just for the beautiful and sexy. Well done Jennifer. May contain Spoilers

ONE FANTASTIC ADVENTURE!!! Man, talk about pressure. I was completely captivated from start to finish. This is one emotional rollercoaster with so much heartache and hope it really pulls those heartstrings and bring all of your emotions into play. Action packed, heart pounding, pulse racing, smooth flowing, page turning dynamo that brings this bad boy roaring to life beautifully. All the drama, uncertainty, along with fear and a little intrigue along makes one amazing storylines. Jennifer is an incredibly gifted author as she shows us her talents up close and personal. The characters are complex, believable and so realistic it brings this bad boy roaring to life beautifully. The scenes are so descriptive and detailed it really draws you in with a realism that has such depth you can almost breathe it. All the trials and tribulations along with plenty surpiring plot twists it really rocks this little guy. Excellent job Jennifer, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.
this book is a really sweet read and I love the fact that the author goes out of her way to make the loss of a limb to be sooo unimportant. THere are a lot of emotional tolls that a person who loses the limb can go through and this author actually took the time to understand and depict those with Beathan. I loved that Gabrielle does what she can to pull him back into society. THis book is one for anyone's must read list.

The Miles Between Us is not what the reader would envision the storyline to be about, from reading the title. A little unlike the usual romance stories, because the couple is not perfect; physically or mentally. It is a beautifully written, touching and honest story; showing us how much life can be changed, in a blink of an eye. The Miles Between Us is a touching, heart-wrenching and emotionally charged story, about the importance of loving someone for who they are inside, not how they look on the outside; the unconditional love for each other is a beautiful love story!!!
These two, great characters that are broken; damaged and emotionally scarred souls that have not had a chance to recover from their pain and are brought together. Both overlooking the negative and finding only the best in the other, these characters have a comfort level that feels so natural; like a soulmate. An entirely new experience when a person is accepted and loved for the person they are. Their bantering that is funny, with off the chains good sex.
Ms. Jennifer Hartley knows how to touch her readers hearts in ways that are unimaginable. Jennifer Hartley has written an utter gemstone, her words in The Mile Between Us had me laughing, and crying while reading this wonderfully written, poignant story of an unlikely love. I celebrated throughout amazing story; A MUST READ for all that love a good cry while reading!! The Miles Between Us is a touching, heart-wrenching story that this reader did not want to ever end, not the typical romance story. This is an incredibly good book, one that should not missed Thank you. The message of Ms. Jennifer Hartley’s book The Mile Between Us is profound. I really loved it, well done Ms. Jennifer Hartley and I must give this book and the author both, 5 stars.
Gabrielle has dealt with the pain of people calling her names about her looks. She is not like other girls but she accepts it. She doesn’t let the pain stop her from her dream of being a popular film director. She has done indie films but took job in a big film. This would be her big break until she had to deal with Beathan Reynolds. He was an actor who lost his arm in a car accident. He was never the same after that. This movie was to help him get back his status. He got scared and ran off to a place where he thought no one could find hm. While hiding out someone was knocking on his door. Gabrielle Sharp the director was there. She walked several miles when her snow mobile stalled from the snow. She was furious. He couldn’t believe she was here and she found him. If he didn’t finish they all had a lawsuit on there hands. She talked him into coming back. She heard his concerns. She let everyone go and shot his naked scene alone. He has called her names, fought back but she takes no mess off of anybody. After all was done he wanted to take her out. Things got heated and she freaked out because no has ever made her feel this way. She knows what she looks like but Beathan saw only her eyes. She stayed away. He was seen with this model who was beautiful but he could think about is Gabrielle. He sees past her looks and into her who she is. She is not who he use to seeing. He has to prove to her he really wants her. She always has her defenses up. All her life she had to deal with pain and negativity. She wants this to be real. I like how she is strong and takes no mess. People always look at the outside first not what’s in people’s heart. I love this story. It’s so much more than beautiful but what is underneath.
ARC was given to me by Author through Booksprout. I am giving my review voluntarily.
The Miles Between Us by Jennifer Hartley. I gave this book 5 stars, because it was one of the most beautiful, touching, honest books I've read in a while. This was the first book I read by this author, and I really loved it!!! The main characters both were emotionally scared. Gabrielle was not your typical beaty perfect heroin, she was told all her life that she was ugly, too skinny, flat chested, and no one will ever want her - she truly believed that of herself. All she wanted to do was be a great film director. This really broke my heart....you actually felt her pain. Now Beathan, he is a gorgeous man, your typical alpha male hero, a famous actor who loved sex, and beautiful woman. Unfortunately 5 years ago he had a freak car accident, that caused him to lose his right arm it destroyed him and his career causing him to fall into a deep depression, and become a recluse. These two come together now for a movie that she was directing and she specifically wanted him to be play the main character....... let's just say they clashed a bit at first. The sparks were flying, temper's igniting to red hot fire. This book showed us how much life can change in a blink of an eye. How important it is to love someone for who they are inside, not how they look on the outside. The sex was off the chains good, great characters, the bantering was funny, emotionally charged book, depression is a really big dark hole that's hard to climb out of, the unconditional love these two had for each other was a beautiful ending to their story!!! Yah!!! Girl power💪💗 Cant wait for Elliot story 😉
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Beathan, an actor who lost his arm in an accident and retreated to a mountain home in order to hide away. Beathan felt like his career was over and people would see him as a freak. When Gabrielle agreed to direct a new movie, she wanted Beathan to play the lead. Gabrielle was gaining credits in her directing and when Beathan agreed to do the movie and then left, she felt she had to go see him and try to convince him to finish filming. Gabrielle grew up hearing she was not pretty and no one would ever want to be with her, she believed that and she thought she could help Beathan. When Beathan finally agreed to finish the film, Gabrielle tried to make it comfortable for him. They had a strange friendship and both admired the other, even if they wouldn't admit it. The monger they are around each other, the more they begin to respect each other and soon feelings get involved, but can they be together after they stop working together. I enjoyed this book, i really liked Beathan even though he was a jerk. Gabrielle was talented in her directing and needed to have more self esteem in her personal life. I think she was compassionate with Beathan and his injury, but he had to learn it was not the end of the world and he was still a man. Good one.
Gabrielle ... she's her best saboteur … Of course, it’s understandable considering her self-image has been totally destroyed.
And Beathan, the once upon a time Golden Boy, has fallen off his pedestal. His once arrogant, ki11er ego is no more. He’s full of self doubt and would rather hide than face his one time adoring fans.
If you like crude, rough and raw, then this is the book for you. Gabrielle is no beauty queen and people made sure she knew it…. from childhood on up. Beathan was gorgeous but he now is feels inferior after a tragic event blindsides him.
Both are at the top of their game when it comes to their career. And both are at the bottom of the ladder when it comes to confidence. Their insecurities rule them.
Two ruined people, both needing affirmation, both needing to feel whole, both knowing what it’s like to fight for their station in life. Two ruined people, will they be able to come together and make a whole?
I give this 3.5 stars.... I had a hard time with the grittiness, the rawness in both the H and the h.

Gabrielle is a talented producer and a driven woman who doesn’t let anything get in her way. Movies are her passion. She is however plagued by one obstacle to true happiness. Beathan is a actor, handsome, talented and obnoxious. They are making a movie together until he runs away, scared of the final scene, scared of looking like a freak since he lost his arm.
Two souls battered by life’s circumstances are thrown together. This is an amazing book, full of interesting, complex, and vulnerable characters. The narrative is exceptional and helps set the stage for the scenes but also gives so much life to the characters. The emotional rollercoaster the author sends the characters on by having them acknowledge and work through their internal struggles pulls at the reader’s heart strings. I became emotionally invested in their story. The dialogue while crude at time enhances the experience. This book does contain hot steamy sexual scenes that I feel are actually necessary for the storyline to work. It is an excellent steamy contemporary romance that also deals with societal and personal perceptions of what is considered beautiful.
Beathen and Gabrielle are two people put together by their career, each with their own imperfections. Will they be able to work together? Will they realize they are perfect for each other? Will they admit their attraction to each other, despite what they feel are their own imperfections? Will they get their HEA? This book was a good read with a good story line and some very steamy romantic parts. There were a few spots where it was hard to hold my interest, hence the 4 star rating, but I'm glad I kept reading to find out the ending for these 2 characters.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was such a touching and refreshing story. The female protagonist was not a beauty but taller than the male protagonist, broad shouldered like a man and in some places called ugly. The male protagonist (Beathan) is an older handsome actor. What a refreshing change!
The story was told in a dual POV format. I love this type of format. It really gets me into the mindset of the characters.
This is a pretty steamy read but I wouldn't call it erotica as there is a story here not just sex.
Gabrielle, an indie film director, has a chance at a mainstream film and will only direct if Beathan, a reclusive actor, plays the main part. As the story progresses their personalities collide, public perceptions are confronted, and the realities of love and life are showcased. Jennifer Hartley has provided a gritty romance with depth in all its ugly reality.
I received a free copy of the book from the author via Booksprout. I had the opportunity to review or not.
Gabrielle is an indie film director who is having the opportunity of her life by directing a mainstream film. And he wants him and only him. Beathan is an actor who after an accident loses his right arm. After that, he goes into retirement until Gabrielle requests him for her film. Both characters have scars which run deep, one physically and the other mentally. Together they learn to trust each other and overcome those scars. The book has potential. However, it needs a full editing process. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Gabrielle is finally getting her big break this indie producer is finally going mainstream but she needs reclusive star Beathan to star in her movie. Beathan has retreated after a tragic accident lost him his arm. These two are such damaged souls Gabrielle has no confidence in herself all he life she has been told she is ugly and no one would want her her and Beathen once a golden child has lost all his confidence with the loss of his arm As they work together love will bloom and these two damaged souls will start to heal one another
The Miles Between Us. This was an interesting story. It takes on the situations of being different in the world. Gabrielle is uncomfortable with her body and feels ugly and have been told she is ugly. Beathan had an accident and lost his arm and left him feeling less than a man. While Gabrielle goes looking for Beathan to talk about finishing out his contract in her movie, they find the challenge of lifting each other's moral up and they go on to become a great team. Good read! *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***
Emotional and Hard To Put Down Once You Begin Gabriel and Beathan will grab your heart and take you on an emotional roller coaster. Well developed characters and an entertaining storyline. Hard to put down once you start reading. A world of arrogance, addiction, and walls that put up challenges. No spoiler here, but are the walls broken down and love allowed to prosper? I read a reader copy and voluntarily chose to review.
A captivating read from beginning to end! An exciting storyline that leaves you breathless wanting more! Sexy steam filled chemistry! Emotionally heartfelt, enjoyable and fun! One heck of a twisted, intense rollercoaster ride! I enjoy stories with heros and heroines over coming their disadvantages. An amazing must read!

Gabrielle and Beathan. This story hooked one from beginning to end. Be warned it is written very raw and very real. I loved how Ms Hartley takes you on this roller-coaster journey of emotions. She makes you feel and experience everything Gabrielle and Beathan goes through. I loved how the relationship between them grows and how they change with it and become so much stronger. I recommend this book.

An amazing and refreshing romance. This engaging storyline was touching as you follow Gabi and Beathan's relationship develop and grow while they overcome the odds and discover passion and love beyond anything they could've imangined. It is told in dual POV as you follow how these two damaged souls who help each other heal. It is written very raw and very real through this roller coaster journey of emotions with very steamy romantic parts. I honestly and voluntarily reviewed this ARC.
The storyline was good and all in all an easy read. I could however, for the life of me not understand why Gabrielle should be characterized as ugly and even called such by Beathen. Not to stereotype but I cannot understand the writer's motivation for that. I liked the story but was a little bit put off by this.

I got this book expecting an "inspirational romance" (as it was categorized) I figured it would be a little campy and sweet or clean, but I'd probably enjoy it. Not at all. This book is borderline erotica. There was a story line, but there was also a lot of sex. Not what I was looking for at all.

He thought his acting career was over. Gabrielle has been told over and over that she is ugly. Now she believes it's true. These two damaged souls will need all the patience and understanding they possess to learn that life really can be fulfilling and full of love. Wonderful characters and a low-key but compelling story makes this a heartwarming and thoroughly satisfying read.
This book had a slow beginning. It took me until chapter 5 to get into it. I did not like the description of Gabrielle. It mad her look like a monster. I like the fact she did no cosmetic improvements. She reinvented herself by being brilliant directing. Beathan was your Hollywood pretty boy until he lost a limb and start feeling sorry for himself. Their work relationship was very toxic. Two imperfect people were perfect together.
A complex story of two troubled individuals. Gabrielle had a difficult childhood and had to work very hard for what she accomplished. She wasn't going to let Beathan derail her dreams. Beathan Reynolds was a famous actor who had an accident that resulted in an arm amputation. After seclusion, he agreed to be the lead in Gabrielle's movie but bailed on her. The characters' development was amazing. I loved reading about individuals overcoming adversity and growing together.
This book is a fabulous story of real type people with real life like problems. A man who lost a limb and a woman who is not beautiful, it just goes to show beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I enjoyed the characters of Beathan and Gabrielle. The chemistry and their self visions were impressive.
Absolutely loved this novel. The pace was a bit slow at the beginning but did it ever pick up. The characters and plot was tightly woven, although towards the end the authors seemed hurry to finish the story. All over a good solid read. Makes the reader believe that the ugly duckling, can always turn into a swan. Go after your dream, no matter how impossible they may be.
An interesting story of a black American woman who is trying to make it as a producer and an actor with an amputation who refuses to finish filming and ruin everything. How they go about sorting their differences was really well written. Great story line with a HEA. Steamier than I like I received this as an arc and I am giving my honest review voluntarily
